Florida Gar (more of a fishing question)

I'm trying to catch a Florida Gar, but having no luck.what is the best kind of lure to use (besides the hookless lures) when trying to catch one. iv heard that blue fox lures work well

Wow, this is soooo the wrong place for this kind of question. You need to look into a Sports Fishing guild or website for this.

This guild is for keeping fish as companions, like someone would a dog or cat. It's about as appropriate to ask that question as someone going into a dog lovers guild and asking what's the best way to cook dog meat.

No its not, I like fish, I eat fish and I like to go fishing.
Fish is just a natural part of my life and I enjoy every aspect of living with fihes.

Our local store here in my small part of Norway actually sell aligator garr and I looked them up online. One of the pages I found on this fish tells that the only way to catch them is with a bow and arrow, since they only bite live fish.
I don't know how true that statement is, I only read it somewhere.
