Encounter: lv4 Poochyena
Pokemon to Battle: lv5 Torchic (Donna) Begining battle: 0XP ***************
After aquiring my Torchic, my immediate course of action was to make my way towards Petalburg City. I only had basic supplies: a small pop-up tent, a bedroll, some waterproof matches, a mess kit, a tin of pokemon food, a canteen with cup and a box of granola bars. Aside from the five pokeballs professor Birch gave me and the Pokedex, I was going to need supplies that I couldn't get in Littleroot Town.
As I made my way through the grasses, Donna turned about on my shoulder and started chirping. There was a growling sound coming from behind. Quickly I hopped to the right, avoiding the Poochyena that attacked.
"Looks like we're up for our first battle together." I spoke as Torchic hopped off of his shoulder.
Now, run towards it!" I commanded. Torchic did as she was told, charging towards the Poochyena. Once the Poochyena was within a few feet, I made my move. "Now, jump up and hit it in the head with Scratch!"
Donna jumped forward and landed the attack, but not on the pooch's head. Instead the attack hit the back, missing the initial target but still dealing damage.
The Poochyena struck back with Tackle, sending Torchic into the air. However, I was not discouraged. The Poochyena reared up for another attack as the Torchic was landing. "Now, Scratch again!" I called out. The time, Torchic intercepted the Poochyena's attack, striking it directly in the head.
With Torchic back on the ground and the Poochyena struggling to get back up, I decided to add to my team and strike before it had a chance to get away or attack again. Grabbing a pokeball, I whipped it at the Poochyena and watched as the red light sucked it up. I watched patiently as the ball rocked back and forth before the red light at the center faded, confirming the capture.
Walking over, I picked up the pokeball and smiled to Torchic. "Looks like we made our first friend." I commented. *************** Battle Result: Torchic Wins Poochyena Captured Used 1 Pokeball XP awarded: 40 to Torchic
