Oh ooh oooh! I'm publishing a story via Nook Press and Amazon's Kindle! Unfortunately I can't make it free (valid pricing STARTS at $.99) but still, it's less than a dollar.

Anyway, "Jenny G: The Diary of Genevieve Rivers" will be published October 7th, 2014. I'll post links here when it finally goes online. Would you guys mind sharing them? I need some unofficial publicists. smile

Hopefully I'll be able to publish more books this way and get my name out there. It would be nice to make a little money too, but I'm not going to worry about that at this point. As soon as I can, I'll offer the books for free.

I was wondering how all that worked. I was working on a comic and might be using that as a possible rout to publish some stuff.

Start an account with Amazon Kindle Press and Nook Press. They can walk you through it. If you set up your comic in PDF format, it's pretty easy to upload and publish it. smile

Amazon used to, and maybe still does, have a similar site. I used to have an account there.

On the Amazon site, there was a tier system, you had to work your way up to the jobs that actually gave you a real money payout. At first I could only earn points on Amazon. Then I could only earn a few cents per task, or if I was lucky, I got gift cards. There was a minimum payout of like $15 and if you didn't make that amount between the monthly pay period, then you lost it when the period rolled over.

You started out by accepting a task. You would have to follow the task to the letter. Sometimes it would be watch a video and then write a short essay about it. Sometimes you had to visit a website, a spend so much time on certain specified pages, then they would verify the cookies on your computer. Sometimes you could write reviews or articles. There was usually competitions for the articles, but those were what actually paid the best if they picked yours back then.

There was several times I accepted a task and didn't get credit for it, and there was a couple of times that I submitted a pay-out request, and didn't get money, but for the most part, it was pretty nice to have a little bit extra for sitting at home in my 'jammas.

That sounds cool. If Amazon is doing it, it's probably on the up-and-up. I found the catch in that little pickle--they don't disclose the full details of the program until much later. I only have myself to blame for being gullible. xp
