Long ago there were many kingdoms and city states, all warring with one another to try to gain some ground over the other. Some fought for money, some for power, some for peace, and some in the name of their gods; but all fought amongst each other. After centuries of these stalemate wars, a human man arose from a distant land and started a conquest, not to conquer all the nations but to unite them. His war, known as the Last War, wages for nearly twenty years at a great price before finally he and his army stood victorious, with all the dominions of the land under his name. He renamed the land Trillian and built a new capital city in the middle of the land. The city was beautiful and large, stretching for miles in every direction and surrounded by a tall wall, with gates at the North, South, East and West points.

With the war done and his capitol built, the King invited all of the leaders of the city states to his castle and proposed to them a treaty; for a small tribute of gold each year, loyalty pledged to him and his kingdom, and the promise not to wage war amongst themselves, the King swore to take care of them and their people as if they were his own. The other leaders agreed and thus the great kingdom of Trillian was born.

That was hundreds of years ago. Today the kingdom of Trillian still stands today as it did when it was first founded, and a descendent of the original King still sits on the throne. He still keeps the promises of the original King and is very kind to his people, building up all of the smaller cities in the kingdom and making sure that peace ensues throughout the kingdom. He has had to use force before though to put down small rebellions, but prefers negotiations. The kingdom seems like the ideal place to live, yet rumors have been spreading...

A man as arisen from unknown origins, and has started a rebellion against the King and the kingdom of Trillian. He is known as the Crownless King to those who admire him and hate him alike, and has become almost more of a legend than an actual man. Some claim he is here to bring a new order, to let the nations rule themselves once again. Others say he crusades across the land in the name of a vile god. Yet others claim he only exists to cause pain and strife to the kingdom. None of these are completely true, and none of these are completely false. The Crownless King claims to his followers, who comes from all races and all walks of life, that he wants to instill a new order in the land and make all those that follow him as rich as any king. He hides from his followers the truth though; he doesn't care about those who follow him, all he cares about is gaining the throne and gaining all the power that comes with being King.

So what will you do? Will you follow under the rule of the Reigning King and fight for the life you have always lived? Will you kill under the banner of the Crownless King, whether you know of his vile intentions or not? Or will you just try to live your life and get caught somewhere in between the chaos? That is what we are here to find out.

For united we stand
Divided we fall

▀--------------------- • ---------------------■

Staring out at the great capital city, the king paced with his pale eyes locked on the distant hills and mountains that followed. He knew what was to come from them soon, had heard of the great force rumored to be forming beyond them. He ran a gloved hand though his graying-hair, sighing.
I've brought nothing but peace to this land, why now? Why do they rise against me now? He stared silently for another moment, then closed his tired eyes, Who are 'they'? What drives 'them'? Is it greed? Lust for the throne? The power? Or are they just driven by their need to cause pain? He walked across the grand bedroom, his boots clicking on the polished stone floors, so clean he could see his reflection, and seated himself slowly on the chair at his desk. He heard Allana, his queen, stir from her slumber, and sit up slowly,
"Llibnis? What troubles you, my love?" She softly placed the question, although she knew the answer. She'd heard the rumors. He could see it in the way her eyes softened.

Llibnis rose again, returning to the balcony to pace, the only thing that calmed him,
"The scouts I sent beyond the mountains have yet to return, I fear the worst for them..." He replied, glancing at her for just a moment, "I fear our troubles are only to worsen from now on, Allana..." He shook his head, raising his eyes to the sky, "Why do the gods curse us now? This peace has lasted as long as the people can recall, are we to go to war with this new enemy? Are we now to break this peace? For what?" He ground his teeth, leaning against the door-frame.

Allana rose, pulling her robe closely about her as the chilly morning air brushed across her skin, and slowly moved to Llibnis's side, leaning gently against his chest and gazing out at the raising sun,
"Llibnis, you mustn't let these rumors haunt you like this. It will drive you mad." Allana said, pulling his chin down toward her to meet his eyes, "Please, the scouts could simply be stalled, held up by a demon perhaps. You have no way of knowing they were-" She was cutoff as he jerked his arms up,
"And neither do you!" He pulled away, pacing again, eyes closed tightly, "What will I tell the people when these fiends are at our gate?" He hissed, slamming his fist into the wall, "We must find a way to end this! I do not wish to see needless bloodshed because we were to passive to defend ourselves!"
Allana stepped back, head lowered, and sighed softly as he stormed past her, slamming out the large, carved wood door.

Llibnis stalked the winding halls, shooting a glance at the guards who watched silently. Some followed him. Others backed away, eyes lowered. His rage died as he came to a abrupt stop before his throne. His throne. He stepped back unsteadily, his armor of Rank making the soft noise it always did. But it was louder now, heavy. He moved, and sank onto the throne, staring out at the great hall around him.
We wont wait. We will act now, before they attack.... He motioned to his private guard, who moved to kneel before the throne,
"Awaken my council and call a meeting. There is much to do before the day is finished." Llibnis said, eyes dark.
The knight nodded, hesitated, and then hurried off down the halls.

The Princess of Trillian αє

I wish to be free, to see the stars, the sky, the forests, the oceans
•÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷•

As princess of Trillian, Mae was not unused to hearing the gossip from maids that she passed by the in the long halls of the castle. She was familiar with the tales of the "Crownless King," and the way the unknown man's tale spread across the land sickened the princess. People were praising this man whom they did not know the face of. They were entrusting their lively hood in a pair of questionable hands. Why could people not see that? Perhaps it was because she was the King's only child that she felt this way. Perhaps it was the fact that she would be the next to rule, bothered her if it was during a time of turmoil. Mae simply understood the situation as bad. Her father, the King, was growing more anxious by the day, his constant worry causing him to enter a worsening health condition. Her mother was of no help to him. Her mother could no longer ease his mind and calm him. Her mother's influence of the King was deteriorating along with the man't health. Mae couldn't stand to see her father in such circumstances, but there was nothing she could do. She was the princess, her voice was easily over ruled by her father.

There was talk within the castle walls. Talk about her father sending her off to some distant land while the Uncrowned King and the true King of Trillian prepared for battle. Of course, Mae regarded it as just that, talk. She found no reason to take the gossip seriously. Her mother hadn't mentioned any such proceedings to her, so there was no such decision that had been made. To send the only heir away... Mae considered it foolish. If her father or mother were to fall, there would be no one left to claim the throne. The Uncrowned King would win. No, Mae was perfectly content with staying near her family and the power that she would inherit. She would have been glad to die for both, and she intended to get on to the battle field one day, even if it meant going against her father's wishes. The First Warrior Queen of Trillian, is what she wished to be known as when her time of ruling came. If Mae had her way, traditions would be broken that had been set in place for centuries.

To most who saw her, Mae was picturesque of fragile and gentle things, small and dainty with hands as long as oak leafs. No one could see her as a fighting champion among knights and peons on the battle field. No matter what people said, though, the Princess was as skilled a swordsman as her father. And she knew that the battlefield was her place to command, just as her father and the many kings before him had known. The royal family of Trillian had been battle masters for centuries.

Her mother had advised her not to enter the throne room that morning, as the King would be attending to certain military business that shouldn't have been brought to light. Of course, Mae heeded her mother's words... for a moment. The Princess knew all the crawl spaces and hidden eavesdropping locations within the castle. She had explored the palace enough times in her youth to memorize their locations. But as the Princess watched her mother and father quarrel, if it could be called such, in hushed silence, the youngest royal family member was too tense to breathe. Her father, she had never seen him in such a mood. It was terrifying to see him panic. To see his eyes so filled with discontent and rage. It was unlike him.

The council? Mae had only been in their presence once, when she had entered the age of mentorship. They had all bee summoned by the King to present the finest teacher of a craft to the future heir of the Kingdom. Their skills had been displayed to her and the young girl's love of sword play had influenced her decision. It had cause several members of the council to to whisper and murmur quietly, clearly displeased by the girl's breakage of tradition. Though her mentor had been surprised, the knight had taught her well. The Princess could handle herself in any combat situation and her experience with different swords, whether they were broad, long, short, or curved, made Mae a dangerously adverse opponent.

When the council began entering in their single file and ominous fashion, Mae held her breath to afraid to even breathe, for she knew the council was composed of many races. Some of them had hearing far beyond compare to a human they could hear footsteps miles away, her breathing would face the same fate. Standing stock still, Mae listened intently with wide curious eyes. If anything, the Princess would have been able to prove she could protect the kingdom on the battle field. She could go after the enemy rally up and remind people who their true king was. All she had to do was listen and wait for her chance, even if she had to break tradition even further and go out without her father's blessing. Yes, now that Mae though about it, she had never been one for sticking to tradition.

For united we stand
Divided we fall

▀--------------------- • ---------------------■

Llibnis watched the Council enter the meeting room, his eyes scanning each one of them, as if looking for some sign of their true feelings towards him. Did they doubt him as well? Did they think he was foolish for waiting to act? For praying to the Gods that this was all just a misunderstanding? He sighed, his anger washing over him in great waves, beckoning him into a fury. No, I must stay calm. I mustn‘t show them how I worry. If I start to doubt, what hope do they have? He raised his head, coolly looking at his closest friends and allies. They stared back at him in confused question, many just wiping the sleep away from their eyes, most annoyed at being called from their chambers at such short notice, and at such an early hour,
“I’m sure you’re all wondering why I called you here.” The King started, meeting all of their eyes one by one, “The time to act upon this threat to our peaceful kingdom has come.”
One of the council members snorted, and all eyes shifted to him,
“About time, Your Majesty.” The Elfin representative said, the harshness of his beautiful voice making the men and women around him shift uncomfortably as he continued, “And how long did you plan to let this continue before you acted?” He snapped, glowering at the king, ignoring the horrified gasps around him.

Llibnis eyed the Elf, and nodded to him silently, before looking around the room,
“I understand most of you feel this way, and you have my deepest apologies for my hesitation.” He lowered his gaze for a moment, thinking, and then looked back at the Elf, “I won’t hesitate any longer. I assure you of this.” He leaned back in his chair, and nervously rubbed his hands, “I will be meeting with the Lord General today about strengthening the garrisons and our borders. I ask you do the same to your own cities.” They nodded, many of them having already done such precautions to defend their people.
“Sire, the rumors concern me.” One of the other council members started, motioning to a stack of papers his assistant hastily placed before the king, who quickly looked them over, “There are rumors that this Crownless King draws even closer to the borders of Rialf, and that he’s gaining aid from people outside the kingdom.” Hushed whispers filled the room, and the king raised his hand, silencing them,
“Are you honestly suggesting The Crownless has an alliance with the Demons?” Llibnis said, his voice laced with his own disbelief, and the man nodded quickly,
“My scouts are trying to confirm this but none of them have returned….” He closed his eyes, “I fear the worst.”
Another council member nodded, and soon, many of them were. Llibnis could feel his stomach turn.

Suddenly, one of the many Human council members, Andrew, smiled proudly,
“He is not the only one with allies then. I will be sending him a little gift soon, one he wont be able to refuse.” He looked around at the others, who looked as if he had grown horns or something, but he only smirked and continued, “A trap if you will. I’m going to send out one of my most trusted servants, and he will try and make his way into the Crownless’ favor.” Many raised eyebrows at him, wondering why he thought this would work, but politely kept their doubt to themselves. The King, on the other hand, wasn’t as kind.
“And what if the Crownless finds out and kills them?” He questioned, the mans smile faded, and he looked suddenly serious,
“My man understands the risks, and for you, Your Majesty, he is willing to risk his life. If anyone can end this war before the armies clash, I have all of the Gods faith it will be him.”
At the strong confidence the man had, Llibnis was unsure how to react. Should he deny it, not willing to risk another life on some suicide run?
No. This is war.. If there is a way to stop the death of thousands with the chance of losing one, then it‘s worth it. He reminded himself, and then nodded.
“That will be all then. I would like to speak with a few of you in private. You’re excused until the meeting this evening.”
They rose, and bowed as he walked out of the room. All exchanging silent glances before walking out of the room themselves.

Andrew whistled to himself as he strolled out of the room, nodding at the guards. His elfish assistant rushed to catch up to his side, eyeing the human,
“Sir, are you sure about this?” He muttered quietly under his breath, “I mean, you may trust him, but many look at him as an abomination! I mean, he’s not even-” Andrew raised his hand to silence the elf, and then shot him a glare,
“You judge without knowing.” He snapped, and then smiled, “As I said, if anyone can get the job done, he can.” The elf frowned, but nodded his agreement, slowing a bit to follow the human, who had an odd skip to his step today, “Show some faith, I’ve been around long enough to know a hero when I see one.”
The elf gave him a look, but said nothing, wondering if he’d lost his mind sometime in the night. The two of them made their way down the steps of the castle, and vanished into the great city, heading towards a small inn on the edge of town...

The Princess of Trillian αє

I wish to be free, to see the stars, the sky, the forests, the oceans
•÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷••÷±‡±±‡±÷•

She was silent as she listened, daring not breathe or make the slightest sound out of fear the council would hear her and know of her presence. Her father had caught her sneaking in on the council once and his warning had made it clear that discovering her a second time would lead to far worse consequences compared to cleaning stables for a month. She strained her ears to hear them over her own breathing, which seemed to be the loud and echo in her ears. They were discussing the Crownless King, the imposter who threatened her father and her kingdom... While King Llibnis had seemed to disregard the issue entirely for ages, her father seemed to finally making a move against the man who was gaining fame as each day passed by. Finally, the speck that tarnished her family was going to dealt with.

Normally, she would have felt outraged that the Elvin member of the council had such audacity to speak to her father in such a manner, lacking the respect and civility meant for a person of equal status, but she couldn't help but agree with the man. It was time her father finally plan actions against the Crownless King. As the discussion continued and more things were brought to light, the Princess couldn't help but widen her eyes at the fact that the false King could have an alliance with the Demons. If that was the case, things would end poorly for the kingdom and there would be little their allies could do to save the kingdom of Trillian. So many innocents would lose their lives and homes if nothing was done to deal with the issue now.

Andrews voice soon went caught her ears and she listened carefully. He was one of the few council members who talked to her and discussed political affairs with her. She had great respect for the man and she had always been eager to search him out after a council meeting when she was younger. Mae carefully moved a lock of her hair that had slipped out from behind hr ear back into place, a determined look spreading across her face as Andrew explained his plan. The young woman decided she would follow after Andrew and join in on this plan of his. She wanted to be a part of this and aide her kingdom; earn the respect of the many council members who looked down on her for wishing to become a proper warrior. Mae would finally be able to show them all that they were wrong and that she could be just as effective of a knight to the army as her father and his forefathers had been. She wasn't one for sitting pretty and being told a schedule to follow for the day and as much as it aggravated her mother and father, they allowed her to do as she pleased, so long as she kept herself out of trouble.

While Mae knew she would never be allowed to help in this plan if she asked for permission from her father, she didn't plan on going to him to ask. Carefully, the girl slipped out of her hiding spot to pack up her gear and prepare a horse to ride and meet with Andrews, where ever he may have gone. Of course, the Princess had a pretty good hunch as to where he was lodging.

It didn't take her long to pack her bag and take her sword from her room to the stables. She had hidden her face with a hooded cloak that covered the armor she wore; the last thing she wanted was someone recognizing her and telling her father of her attempted escape. After saddling up her horse and stocking up its supply bags, she mounted the steed and began her journey to the edge of town, stopping before the gates of the castle to look back at her home before leaving it for who-knew-how-long. While she loved her family and would miss them dearly, bringing a stop to the Crownless King was what was going to put her name in the history books and earn her respect among the people who had none for her.

The ride was short to the inn on the edge of town, a place she knew Andrew frequented when he was called in for council meetings. Mae led her horse to the stables and tied the black and white spotted creature to a post. Her slender hands adjusted the hood of her cloak in an attempt to hid her face further before she went to enter the inn and discuss her idea with the Human council member.

The atmosphere of the inn was how she imagined it, dark but lively with the scent of cheap alcohol and smoke hanging thickly in the air. Brown eyes shifted about the room before locating Andrew and his Elfin assistant. The woman glided over to their table and knocked lightly on the wooden surface before pulling the hood of her cloak back the slightest bit so the two could see her face. Without so much as a word, she sat herself down at the square table and, after situating herself, began to explain what she was doing in their presence.

"I wish to aide you in this fight against the Cownless King," she said lowly under her breath so only the two men could hear her. "I do not wish to sit idly in the castle while this man continues to tarnish my family's name. I... happened to overhear the council today and your idea intrigues me. Andrew as a close friend, let me assist you. I know I am young, but I can be of great help to you!" Mae's gaze was determined as she spoke, refusing to be told no and have to face the council telling her she was overstepping her boundaries as Princess and that she should know her place. The Princess of Trillian refused to return to that.

"Please, let me assist you. If I take part in this, I'm sure it would be more advantageous to our side of the battle." Brown eyes gave her friend a determined look, hoping he wouldn't refuse her and would be willing to let her assist him in his plan. If she were allowed to go, she was positive things would end in their favor.

◘ Andrew ◘

Andrew and his assistant pushed their way through the rather large crowd huddled around the door to the inn, frowning as the commoners muttered something distasteful about the “high class” blessing them with their presence. Andrew only shrugged to himself, glancing about the dimly lit room without much interest. They settled for a table in the far corner, and quickly flagged a waitress down to order two ales. He had never had a drink while a meeting was so near, but dire situations called for a relaxing drink, in his opinion. His assistant frowned, staring across from him as though he were crazy,
“Are you sure about this?” He muttered lowly, ensuring noone heard them, and looked around quickly, “I mean, if they find out he’s… That you’re….” The elf looked down at his glass,
“They won’t find out. Simple. Our plan will work.” Andrew said, a sly grin spreading across his lips, “And when it’s all done and over with, I will keep my promise to you.” He said gently, “You need to have a bit more faith.”
The elf sighed, shrugging, and then looked back up at the Human he’d worked under for years. His pale eyes narrowed, and he glanced around again, discreetly,
“How will we contact him? How will we even find him?” The elf said hastily, “There isn’t time to go hunting for him. You know that. His Majesty will want to hear that-”
Andrew rose a hand to cut him off, grinning,
“He’s already in the city as we speak.” His eyes narrowed, a strange darkness the Elf had never seen before flickering past quickly, “He’s on his way to us, right now. Can’t you feel him?” Andrew leaned back, and rubbed his chin, the darkness gone as quickly as it had come, “I’ve already booked a room for us to have a private meeting with him once he arrives. We will discuss more there.”

Jumping to his feet, the elf recoiled in horror, “Here? In the city?” He exclaimed, his terror overriding all thought of privacy, “Are you mad?”
Andrew quickly grabbed the elf by the arm and pulled him back into his seat, waving off the curious glances, “Quit causing such a ruckus!” He snapped, and frowned, “I assure you, I am in complete control of him. He won’t try anything.” Absently, his hand wandered to his throat, rubbing his chest, “However, I can’t grantee that control will last much longer, which is why we must make haste to get him on his way to the Crownless King.” Andrew glanced at the door, his eyes narrowing into tiny slits as a figure entered the door. A small grin came to his lips before he could hide it, and he looked back at his companion, “It would seem fortune favors us this day.” He silenced the elf with a hand, just as the figure made it to their table.

Andrew quickly bowed his head, enough to show respect, but not enough to give her away to the rest of the inn, and remained silent until she sat. Seeing her determination amused him somehow, and he hid a smile,
“Your Highness.” The elf muttered softly to her, his brow furrowing, “You know we cannot let you fight this war… the Kingdom needs you, Your Highness.”
Andrew rose his hand, eying her oddly,
“He’s right. The Crownless King is no petty heathen looking for a throne, he’s dangerous.” Andrew frowned at her, “Even the thought of sending you into the hands of such a monster is absurd!” He paused then, briefly, his eyes scanning hers, and then his eyes went over her shoulder, and he stiffened visibly, “Your Highness, it’s time for you to make your leave.” He said quickly, his eyes locked on a figure that had just entered the inn. The elf was ridged across from them, his eyes wide and brimmed with fear and awe as the figure casually strolled over to them.

Andrew rose to his feet quickly, and placed himself defensively between the Princess and the newcomer, who only stared at him,
“You came.”
The newcomers bright yellow eyes narrowed, and he tilted is head slightly to the side, as though Andrew was a clueless child,
“How could I refuse?” The voice was cold, and crisply clear, as though it was taking some effort to speak the language, although he had no accent. His eyes moved to the elf, pinning him in his seat as he started to rise. The elf let out a small sound, and quickly sat down again, his eyes darting away to look at anything but the man. The newcomer looked back at Andrew, and then, briefly and without much interest, his eyes met the Princess’. The pale eyes seemed to see everything- every hidden secret, every thought, every desire, and the longer they were looked into, the more they seemed to pull and prod at the minds of their focus. Beckoning them to spill their soul to him….

Letting out a small growl of warning, Andrew placed himself between the Newcomers gaze and the Princess,
“Do not dare to lay eyes on Her-” he cut off, noting the attention they’d drawn, and frowned, “I have a room prepared. I will meet you there in a few minutes time, I need to deal with-”
“Her Royal Highness?” The Newcomer interrupted, his expression bored, but before Andrew could take offence, he turned on his heel, “Room 17.” He said, and vanished through the hallway leading to the second floor.
The moment the man had gone, Andrew let out a ragged sigh, the elf sunk in his chair, suddenly gasping for the breath he’d been holding,
“Apologies, Your Highness, he should never have been allowed to lay his accursed eyes on you.” Andrew said quickly, turning to her, “Please return to the palace.” He said quickly, a mask of worry set on his face, “This is not a safe place to be, I will come to you later, and you can help me discuss plans to reinforce the borders. I can use all the help I can get.” He said softly, and nodded to the elf, “Ensure Her Highness gets back to the palace, and make sure her guard knows where she is this time.” He frowned at her, “Honestly, Heen worries terribly about you terribly when you slip out of his watch.” He chuckled then, smiling at her proudly, “Although you have become quite good at it.” Nodding to the elf again, he bowed his head, and then vanished down the hallway.

Turning to her, the elf smiled, trying to look reassuring even though he looked on the brink of having a full on panic attack. He rose to shaking legs, and offered his arm to her politely, “Shall we go, Your Highness?” He muttered softly, his eyes darting from her to the hallway quickly, clearly worried about his friend. He only hoped this plan didn’t backfire in Andrews face…. Or end up destroying the kingdom.
What had he been thinking, bringing that person here? He ground his teeth.

The Princess of Trillian αє

I wish to be free, to see the stars, the sky, the forests, the oceans

The Princess gave a curt nod of her head in recognition of the two's greeting. She knew that it was customary to greet the royalty in such a fashion, but she found it to be cumbersome in a setting such as this. The tavern was dark and milling with people of shady back ground. If it were given away that she was indeed the Princess there would, no doubt, be certain individuals who wished to steal her away. The elvish assistant was soon addressing her and she couldn't fight the frown on her face. If there was anything she hated in the world, it was being told that there was something too dangerous for her. She had accomplished so many feats, gone against the words of the councilmen who said she wouldn't be able to accomplish anything simply because of her sex, and yet there were still those who advised her against something. The young woman shifted in her seat, her arms crossing over her chest as she sighed, muttering to herself. When was the last time the Kingdom had needed her?

Her eyes shifed to Andrew's face, her brows furrowing. "I can handle myself perfectly fine. I'm capable of defending myself. I've trained under the best swordsmaster in the entire kingdom! I- " She stopped, noting with slight displeasure, that Andrew seemed to be far more tense than when she had first arrived. Her head turned to look at his assistant, who's fear was so plainly seen in his face, before her gaze finally landed on a cloaked figure making its way towards them.

Her gaze never strayed from the figure as Andrew addressed him. The brown orbs trailed over his robes, taking in the details of them, before trailing up to meet the odd yellow ones that seemed to peer scathingly back at Andrew as they spoke. The voice that greeted her ears was cold and had a bite to it. For whatever reason she found it almost calming to listen to, though the mystery man said hardly a word at all. Mae thumbed the edge of the table, giving herself something to ground herself to while she simply gazed upon the cloaked man. When their eyes finally met, there was a strange pulling sensation in the back of her mind, as if he was trying to pull her closer and closer to him without closing the distance between them physically. It was captivating...

When Andrew broke their gaze she noticed the hairs on her arm were standing on end and there was a cold sweat to the back of her neck. Whatever this person was, he wasn't natural. Mae refused to make such a fact known and simply regarded Andrew as she normally would, whatever it was that had cause such a reaction wasn't something she was going to acknowledge. Her eyes followed the stranger as he left to go to the room Andrew had prepared for their meeting. How curious... As soon as Andrew addresses her again, her eyes are on him, noting the way his behavior has seemed to change. The barracks? He wished to discuss the barracks with her? She frowned and murmured under her breath. She knew Andrew meant well, but he should have known that her curiosity was going to get the best of her. For now, she would simply play along like a good Princess. "I see... I suppose I can offer you some help with the barracks." She offered him a smile, her voice almost uncharacteristically sweet. "I do wish he would stop worrying so much, he knows I dislike being watched over every moment of the day. But getting away is always a nice challenge." The woman nodded her head curtly, as if agreeing with her own statement, before standing up from the table.

She watched him leave the room before taking the arm of Andrew's assistant. There had to be a way to sneak up and hear the conversation; she hated not knowing. What had Andrew said the room number was again? 17? Yes, that sounded right. "Yes, I'm quite content to leave. My horse is in the stable at the present moment, I'm sure it will be glad to see me back." Mae allowed the elf to guide her to her horse waving the man off with a smile before waiting a few moments. She would do all that she could to understand what, exactly, Andrew was getting himself involved with.

At the count of ten, the Princess made her way back into the tavern and carefully up the stairs to perch outside the door to room 17, her ear pressed against the wood door. She was careful not to displace her weight on the old wooden floor, too afraid that it would creak and let out a sound that would make the men within the room aware of her presence.

I cannot be caged. My free will shall not be tamed. My spirit forever strong
