The kid young teen waited to see what Viel's response would be to having a stranger from a completely different territory join their group. He liked the idea of having adventures and finding treasures, but he knew it all depended on what the older two decided. Usually the mage wasn't so trusting, and with the wars going on it made sense. Tren was just glad that they hadn't run into a person from the opposite army or his friends might not have been able to help save him.

Tren was exhausted and couldn't wait for the chance to rest. When the armored man began to guide them, he mentioned not to let Tren wander off. The boy looked to the ground, ashamed of his previous action. He was old enough to have known better, but he couldn't help taking the opportunity to explore a new place. The boy meekly tried to speak up to see if he could find out more information about Lynx as they got closer to his camp. "Er, so how long have you been in this area, Lynx? By the way you're dressed it almost seems as if you'd be apart of an army affiliation, but you don't seem like an enemy. I guess that's good though, we've dealt with enough fighting for awhile hehe." Tren said trying to catch up towards the front with leader of the group and slightly walking backwards as he asked questions, his tail flickering with curiousity.

۞ "It's no problem. We could use you on our team." Viel said as they made their way down where the previously collapsed pillar from earlier that day had been, not too far from the man's camp. Viel watched as Tren began questioning their new ally. The mage was surprised the boy still had any energy. As weak and injured as he was back at the spiders lair, the boy should be barely breathing, but he was glad his little friend was doing better. The idea of resting was like a massage of relief on the mind though, seeing as all they had gone through on this journey.
"Good, we can rest up, eat and learn more about our ally and head out on our way by morning if that is alright with everyone." The mage said in a weary tone. Having to watch over his friends like an elder brother or father got to be very tiring, but he still cared about them and would gladly risk his life for them, but at the moment he needed rest. They all probably did.

As Lynx continued down the path toward his campsite "Well Tren I've been here for about 4 to 5 months. I've been trying to look for a good place to train and look for treasures." while he walked on moving tree branches from the path and walking over some rocks. "No Tren Im not part of any army...this suit of armor was the last thing my grandfather gave me before...." as he paused " Before he passed on. We should be at my campsite in a short while Tren so you'll be able to rest soon "
Lynx moved the bushes at the end of the trail "Welcome to my campsite everyone ." As he smiled at the group " My campsite is your campsite so make yourselves at home...if you are all hungry I might still have some food in my tent. I'll just have to go and gather some firewood."

" Oh, I'm so sorry to hear....." Tren said nervously when the man mentioned the guy's armor was from his grand-dads'. The boy felt like maybe he said something wrong by bringing up something so sad. The guy mentioned that Tren would rest, but Tren had felt bad enough about risking everyone that he didn't want to seem like a lazy bum now.

" Er no, I don't need to rest. I can help out, honest I can!" He said rubbing his eyes a bit and began to hop over towards some broken rubble as and flickered his tail happily as they had arrived towards the man's camp site.
"Wow, this is pretty nice for just camping out in the wild like this!" The boy said with a grin and began walking around the little area.

۞ The mage was glad to once again see the man's camp ground. Since they had already visited briefly before, their supplies were still here so they didn't have to travel far to go retrieve anything. Viel was glad to see everyone getting along. It was a rough past hours or so trying to get to here just for vacation then having to rescue their friend and it had just turned late afternoon as the sun was falling.


۞ Viel noticed his two friends were exhausted and Nix had already fallen asleep on the walking bird. When Cho had stopped and sat near the ground, the dark art user walked up to his female companion and put her in Lynx's tent on some bed spread.
"Sorry to just use your stuff without permission. I think it is only fair that the female get the private quarters, sir. " Viel said to the knight. He could tell Tren was getting tired too, although the boy was doing his best to hide it.
The mage walked over to one of their packs and grabbed several sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows. "Tren, you've had a rough day and I can sense your magic energy dwindling. You need to rest if you are ever going to control your abilities without over exhaustion. I will take first watch of the night if you wish to rest as well, new friend." He addressed the last part to Lynx.

Tren sat on a broken log nearby like it was a horse and wagged his tail back and forth. Viel had told him he should go to bed. "Awww but I wanted to stay up a little later and hang with you guys." He yawned a bit. Tren knew his teacher was smart though and was even able to sense his magic amount. The mage was always good with sensing magic, teaching spells and had heard he had his own secret ultimate spell but never got to see it yet. He figured it was best not to argue much with the older warrior. "Oh alright, I guess. Night Viel and sir Lynx!" The boy was going to say night to Nyx, but she had already fallen asleep and was put in the tent.

The monkey boy walked over to the area where Viel had laid out some sleeping blankets and bags and adjusted his the way he liked it. The boy then curled up under a blanket and snuggled down for the night and folded his tail close to his side as he fell asleep quickly from exhaustion.

Lynx turned to the mage Viel as the mage told him that he had place his female companion who had fell asleep while riding her Chocobo back to the campsite. " It's all right with me Viel that Nix sleeps in there" as the knight placed down his sword and shield beside a stump around the campfire. Lynx then turned to Tren who was curled up in his sleeping blanket and grinned " Your young friend must have been tired....cause he's already sleeping huh Viel?" as he laughed alittle bit. "And it was alright when Tren brought up my grand-father....that happened a long time ago and I've learned to live with it." While Lynx stared at the campfire slowly dwindling down.

"So Viel where are yo guys going to head to next in the morning?" as the knight throw in two more peices of firewood in the low burning campfire.

۞ Viel nodded to Lynx about Tren and Nix. "Yes it seems both of my friends can over exert themselves when they shouldn't. They'll end up hurt if they aren't careful." The mage said, in an expressionless tone even though he really cared about them. He could say the same about himself though, but his own life didn't matter to himself. Something always felt different about himself compared to his friends. The mage didn't want to think about depressing thoughts like that. He had to stay watch over everyone.


۞ "Honestly I do not know where to take my comrades. This whole trip was meant to be a break from our lives back in the village, but with the feuds and danger in all the lands, I'm not sure where to take everyone for a proper vacation and I don't know this land very well without making it too obvious we're from an opposing land." Viel sighed. "I heard there were a few nuetral zones in this land though. Maybe we should try stopping there although from what I have heard they're mostly competition places which may not be very vacation-ish."

"Yeah sometimes people can be kinda wreckless at times....but at least you have your friends to watch your back if you get into any danger" as the Knight nodded his head in delight. " Well Viel where ever you want to go I'll join'n ya.....I'm just glad to be in a group who are willing to protect each other" staring at Viel as he streches out his arms into the sky.

"So how long have you known Nix and Tren? Have you known them for a long time?" While Lynx sat on the ground with his back against the stump he was satting on. "I sure do wish I had friends like your Viel...who love to go out adventering." nodding his head "It's always been hard for me to make friends. Im just not one to open up to people...but for some reason all you guys are different."

۞ The mage nodded and thought to himself Too reckless if you ask me. He nodded to the protecting comment. Why would' Viel protect people? He wasn't meant to be a tool of destruction or just meaningless fighting.


۞ "How long have I known them? For as long as I can remember, I suppose. I've known Nix ever since the orphanage, and Tren when he was real young and was abandoned in our village till he became a student of mine." Viel said staring at the fire. He understood what the man meant by not being able to make friends or open up. The mage was always alone when he was little till Nix came a long. He didn't know what the warrior meant by them being different. Was it that obvious?

"I don't understand. How are we different?"

"You and Nix were in a orphanage? I don't mean to be rude or anything but did you or Nix know your parents?" as the knight looked at Viel. "Well your all different in your actions and the way you all act." Lynx started to smile " In a way you all seem like a family...You Viel seem more like the father role careing for the others and making sure that the others never get into any danger and if they do you always throw yourself in front of them."

۞ Viel merely nodded at the orphanage comment. When the subject went to knowing their parents though, his face went sullen and he looked to the ground. " I can't say that I did know them. I've heard stories from others in the village that they were among the strongest mages of the nation, but other than that I know nothing of them... As for Nix, I never thought to ask such a personal question and respected whether she would want to say anything on her own." He said looking back to the tent where his childhood friend was resting.


۞ "A family? Hmm, I suppose you could say that. Although I never thought of myself as a 'father'. I'm used to teaching younger minds and looking after them, but I wouldn't ever be a father. I would think I would be too young to be 'fatherly'. He said with an odd tilt of his head. He figured he was more like an older sibling than anything.
"Well of course, any friend of mine I would gladly risk everything to protect. Is that not what friends do?"

Lynx noticed Viel looking downward as he asked him about his parents, felt maybe he shouldn't have asked such a personal question for it was none of his business. " Sorry Viel maybe I shouldn't have asked...you look like your remembering bad memories or something?" As Lynx continued to stare at Viel when the mage said his parents were the strongest in the nation, it made the knight wonder how powerful Viel really was. " Your parents were the strongest in the nation Viel? Wow that just makes me wonder how much power you have up your sleeves."

As he chuckled at himself " I bet you have all kinds of untapped powers hidden inside you....maybe one of the days you will be as strong or possibly strongerthen your parents. I know who I'm calling if I'm ever in trouble." chuckling again.

" Yes Viel your right though friends do tend to do what ever means to protect them. I guess Nix and Tren are very lucky to have you looking after them." while Lynx stared into the sky.

۞ The mage shook his head. "No, you are fine. If you are to be our friend, then we should find trust in you about these things." He said with an emotionless face. It was pretty much his usual monotone expression though. "I certainly have a lot of power, but I would never use it without thought of consequences it could have around me. I'd rather choose to use my strength solely as protection and my will for my friends is what keeps me growing stronger for their sakes. Of course though, now that you have become a part of our lives you are always welcome to ask for help when needed. It is my duty after all."


۞ It was getting late, but Viel did not feel tired. He rarely felt the need to sleep. Another odd characteristic he couldn't figure out about himself. He thought for a moment and the fire started to die down. "I.... I would not know what to do without my friends in my life. Life would just be a purposeless void then since I do not feel any other reason for existing." His words were a bit dark and sad, but it was how Viel felt. He always had an emptiness about him inside that he could never figure out, but when he was with his friends, he felt 'alive'.
