At the apple Raevan's witty response, Adrian couldn't help a hearty laugh. "Quite so, quite so, my boy! I do believe we shall get along marvelously." Giving a gentlemanly step to the side, the elder Shade allowed Sam to take the lead. "Ah yes! Please do lead the way."

Following the rather zealous zookeeper, Ebony gave an uneasy laugh. "Uh, well..." To be perfectly honest, she wasn't sure if she was okay with snakes in general. Though obviously sharing many traits and characteristics, comparing Cordelia to them seemed like a grave oversimplification. After all, dagger wings and missing lower half aside, the smoky Frei was more akin to a human visually than a snake. At least that was how Ebony saw it. Perhaps that too was only a simplification.

Once the humans were finally preoccupied, Cordelia's facade dropped and she gave a tiny sigh. Reinhart's question had been meant to be answered with sharp wit towards the queen bit, yet when her silver eyes looked up to meet his ruby gaze, she found a type of affinity reflected in them and thus dropped whatever snide remark she had concocted. Allowing the little title to pass (a folly she would most definitely regret later), Delia frowned as her grip on his arm tightened ever so slightly. Though more to draw comfort for herself than anything else.

"Don't misunderstand, but today wasn't suppose to be a family outing. I don't want to have to behave and try to interact with Ebony just for my grandfather's sake all because they decided to tag along." The Basilisk gave a dark chuckle, "And yet somehow here we are." Her expression grew defeated as she sighed. "Sorry, forget I said anything. We just barely met. You shouldn't have to hear me vent about my family issues."
