  Ember was a young dragon that lived in a flight of dragons nearby. She was smart and strong but small for her age. Currently she was with her flight, as they were coming in for the migration to the west. While a few special dragons would stay behind with their human friends, the rest would go wets for mating season. Ember was having fun with her friends, who were bigger than she was but still were gentle with her. They were having a speed flying contest through their end of the forest. She'd never seen a human before, but was about to meet her human partner for the first time. This flight of dragons was known for their speed and beautiful, shining scales. As well as their ability to change size, and as such were incredibly sought after by hunters of all kinds. Suddenly Ember and her friend stopped in their tracks, smelling hunters. They started to fly back towards their flight for protection, as younglings were considered important by their flight, but Ember got caught in a hunter's trap. She began to struggle and roar loudly. This net, however, was dragon proofed and as such Ember wouldn't get out with her fire breath or claws. She was almost screeching by this time, as her friends watched from the trees not sure what to do now. One flew back to get help, but the others came down to try and get heir friend out. They were unsuccessful though but kept trying hoping to free Ember. |

Ember listened to Luke but had never met a human before. Her friends had taken off back towards the flight once the hunter's showed up for Ember. Though she didn't have a bond with her partner yet, Ember did understand Luke. She nodded before coming up to him and placing her head against his chest in thanks. She then took off towards her flight. Once there her friends greeted her before her mother and father, who were bigger than she was, nuzzled her afraid they'd lost their baby to hunters. There was something about Luke though, something Ember liked and understood. He didn't try to catch her like other humans usually did with their kind. He was nice and released her, allowing her to return to her family. Ember was what was known as a moon dragon. They only migrated to this area once every ten years or so when the moon is at its fullest. The migration path was semi long so they stopped every couple of days for the younger dragons to rest and play. As well as to hunt for food and maybe find a partner along the way.
After a little while, Ember went looking for Luke, following his scent towards him. It was starting to get very dark out but since she could see in the dark in what little moonlight she could get, it was easy to find where he lived. Her kind of dragon was rare to get as a partner, so when the other people saw her walking around, they had to wonder if she was here for her partner and who he/she was. She was about the size of a foal (Baby horse) right now, but at full size would be the size of one of their homes. She had tucked her wings against her back so as not to knock anything over or upset anyone. Plus her head was down to show she was not hear for trouble. Once she finished following Luke's scent, she let out a small friendly roar before she sat outside of his home. As she waited for him to answer her, she remembered that he was hurt because of her. She felt bad that he was hurt rescuing her, so she got some flowers from the front of his home, and placed them on the doorstep before scratching at the door hoping he was home. |
