More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Heather sat in the corner of her cell, silent as usual. To say the last month had been difficult would be doing her pain a disservice. Kerana and Deora visited almost daily (usually together). While she appreciated their desire to not leave her alone, she found it difficult to speak to them.

It was the day before her trial, and she did not have a positive outlook on the outcome. She knew what happened to metas that were considered too dangerous to be allowed free. Kerana told her again and again that it wouldn't be so, but Heather knew better.

So she sat, with her arms wrapped around her knees and her wings wrapped around her naked body. She had declined clothes. Clothes were for people, not monsters.

It was at that moment that she wished Liv would come and see her. The thought of that one kiss, that one amazing kiss, caused her to start crying again.

Theonis had just stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. He noticed his phone was going off. He didn't know the number but it had been forwarded from his office. It had to be important.

"Theonis Richards speaking. Current Head of Valhalla. I apologize in advance for not knowing who you are. Miss Agatha Morris has left me with a lot of documents and files. I have not been able to go over all of them yet."

The man raised an eyebrow. He was not expecting to hear a man's voice, or let alone hear that Agatha had stepped down at Headmaster. This explained a lot.

The man in the dark room introduced himself.

"Mister Richards, this is Charles Ray. We have not met, but I am certain you know me by reputation, yes?"

Theonis sat down.

"Yes, I am quite familiar with your reputation. A fearsome and respectable business man."

"So what I can do for you Mister Ray? I assume this is business related."

Charles spun around in his chair. What little light was in the room bent around the scars on his face.

"Actually, no. This is more of a personal matter. There is someone that I have been attempting to locate for quite some time. She had done well to keep herself off my radar thus far, but my sources tell me she was last seen going into your facility. I would have contacted you sooner, but the mess with the Legion creature and the cleanup thereafter have been taking up my time. Plus, I knew your facility would keep her safe while I handled my affairs."

"So, if you do not mind, can you confirm the presence of a type one reptile meta named Helena Ray?" Charles asked calmly.

Theonis stood up and walked to his PC.

"Your daughter?" Theonis asked as he went through the register. Though he did find he, he was not going to hand her over to him so easily if that was what he was after. If she didn't want him to find her then she had a good reason for that. He remembered something as the man spoke of Legion.

"I remember many horrors coming from within the beast. As if all of the victims were having nightmares. I don't suppose that was your doing?"

Ray couldn't help but smile just a bit at that memory.

"That...thing was destroying my city. I saw that Miss Smith was trying to fend it off with one of her shadow beasts alongside the entirety of her security force. I could feel the multitude of minds within that monstrosity, and so I thought I would lend a helping hand."

Ray looked a picture of his daughter. It was the most recent, but still very far away and slightly out of focus.

"If it helps narrow down your search, she was one of the refugees from the Matron safehouse you helped a little over a month ago. The photo I have shows her riding atop a large meta's shoulders."

Theo's mind raced. He couldn't be talking about Heather could he? But then he found the person associated to the name. It showed Helena Ray. A reptile Meta. Often if not always surrounded by a big Meta by the name of Larry.

It really was Heather. He had to get to the bottom of this.Ray wouldn't know of her different form.

"Ahh yes, I see her. She is still registered here so she should still be here.."

Charles breathed an audible sigh of relief, "Ah, that is good. Now, Miss Morris has barred me from stepping foot in Valhalla. I would like to have Helena brought to my home if that is still the case."

At least he seemed relieved. But as the new Headmaster he had to step in.

"Then I am afraid you will find me supporting her actions. If she did that, then it was for a very good reason. One I do not know of yet but will know of once I talk to her. I am sorry. I know you must want your daughter back" Theonis replied before shifting to a much more serious and firm tone." But we do not hand over our people to anyone. Not matter how powerful they are. She chose to stay here and is under my protection for as long as she remains here. From what you have told me she went through great lengths to avoid you. I will talk to her and if she does not want to leave then so be it."

"Only the voices came from the shadows...I just hope I can't hear them anymore..."Liv replied suddenly rubbing her arm a bit as she felt somewhat exposed.

"Would you like me to escort you back to your apartment, just in case? Old fashioned stroll, no shadow traveling." Trinity posed reassuring that she wasn't going to use her recently regained power unless she was okay with it.

Charles remained silent for a moment as his hand gripped the phone tighter. "That is... disappointing, Mister Richards. I was hoping that a new outlook would come with a change of regime. It seems I was mistaken."

He glanced over at another paper on his desk. It was barely visible in the darkness, but the word "POSITIVE" was glaring out at him like a flare.

"I doubt she will want to see me; let alone leave. If, at the very least, you could arrange a meeting I would be indebted to you. It is of the utmost importance that I speak with my daughter sooner rather than later."

He leaned forward in his chair, casting the shadows over his eyes.

"I will be in touch."

He disconnected the call and placed the phone back on it's cradle. He looked back down at the photo of the reptile woman riding atop the large meta. He ran a finger across her image gently.

"Helena..." he whispered.

"Of course, it is the least I could do. You're still her father and I will do what I can for you but I will not force her. I hope you understand my position. Hopefully I will have some good news next time." Theonis replied before he hung up.

This made him wonder. Why would Charles Ray need his daughter now of all times? Why was it so urgent? Tossing towel away he got dressed. The initial plan was to get some sleep. But it could wait. It's not like he needed as much as your average person. Ever since getting his powers he didn't need much.

But first he needed to know why Gidget prevent him from entering in the first place. Besides the potential danger with his power. After he got dressed he dialed her. She was still his adviser.

"Yeah.....Yeah sure. I dunno how it works buy have you ever heard voices from the shadows? Or maybe your passenger has?"

Ako hadn't answered his phone. Gidget thought little of it. She figured he was on the can or something equally distracting.

She then got the call from Theonis. She looked over at her monitor and called out. "Hermond: Answer phone."

There was a beep before the connection was established in order to let Gidget know that she was free to talk. She didn't bother to look up from what she was doing as she spoke.

"What can I do for you Theonis?" she asked cordially.
