I just got my 4th badge in Plat...though it's the 5th one in the case...am I supposed to skip a gym? xd
I got the Member's Pass but have yet to get to the hotel where I can use it...how did you get stuck on it? O-o;

Platinum doesn't have the same Gym line-up as DPPt. So instead of passing up Hearthome Gym until after... What was it, Crasher Wake? You get the Badge on your initial visit to the city instead.

And I can still download the Letter. I have the space. I just wouldn't be able to pick it up until after I caught Darkrai. And some WonderCards you CAN send. I believe Rotom's Secret Key Card you can send to up to five different people.
