I've gotta grace every thread that appears in this subforum today. So bless this thread. *blesses the thread*

I'd attempt something in Italian, but I'd fail like crazy.

So back to studying for me.

Arrivederci!

The friend I'm taking my Italian class with is Sicilian...xD It's so much fun hearing him learn Italian, because he pronounces all the words differently since he wasn't raised speaking Italian [he has a Brooklyn accent, so I can't help but smile...xD]

(I'm quite surprised that no one has mentioned and/or honored this man in here.)

I want to honor a man by the name of Luciano Pavarotti.
For those of you who don't know him, he's a very popular Italian opera tenor, might I add a very amazing one at that.

He passed away on 6 Settembre 2007, of Pancreatic cancer at the age of 71, in his house with his wife, three daughters and sister present.
An email from his manager, Terri Robson, read, "The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life. In fitting with the approach that characterized his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness."

A couple of his performances include:
"Vesti La Giubba (I Pagliacci)"
"Caruso"
"Nessun Dorma"
To name a few of my favorites of his, those probably being more popular than some of the others.
He's also the first of the famed "The Three Tenors"

He's done many charities as well, and helped out greatly to enrich the lives of many both with his musical talent and his generosity.
This was a truly great man.

Bring on the Italians!

... I can't stop reading everything with the accent and the Italian pronouciation now.

Especially the "che"
And there ain't any "gli," so I'm doing fine there.
(I'm talking about reading in English, that is)

Almost all of my class speaks Spanish or took Spanish before, so we're still stuck in Spanish mode whenever we pronounce the words.

Especially the word "intelligent."

Us: "intelli-HEN-tay"
Teacher: *stomps foot* "INTELLI-JEN-TAY! D:<"

Other than that, we're pretty good on the grammar and stuff.
