So, I just started out in the exchange forums and have started learning to make some profits through vending. The past few days I've been there though people have been getting banned. Some well known vendors/ exchangers have been getting banned. Now I am a noob to this world and seeing some great exchangers getting banned has made me nervous about exchanging with people now.

Ah I should explain the actual situation.
I guess gaia admins have been saying that people have been making profits off of botted/ hacked/ scammed gold, with no actual proof of such thing.
Pretty much people with good accounts, who have been on gaia for quite a while have been getting banned for such reason.

So back to my situation, I am now paranoid of exchanging with people in fear of getting banned for that reason. My solution right now to that is using one of my mule accounts to exchange, though I am iffy about doing that, as they may track it back down to my main account.

So I gotta ask, anyone ever have this problem or know a friend that has gone through this and never got their account back?
Better yet, think some of the people who have been saying they have been banned are just lying in hopes of getting free items and gold? (I'm not totally naive, I know how a lot of gaians are, greedy, selfish brats)

Spectral in heaven as climbs the frail veiled moon,
eek Be careful I guess. I didn't know that this was an issue, as I have also never frequented the exchange forums. I wish I could give some profound advice, but I don't know a thing. Good luck.
So climbs my dream.

A lot of gaians are, like you said, just greedy for gold and item. Also if you purchased something from someone even though it was botted gold, it's not that you knew that and its so not fair for that to be a reason to be banned. gonk
Also I'm not even sure if they can track down trades confused But if they can, then the only thing for not being banned is to know for sure that it isn't botted/hacked/scammed gold sweatdrop

Wow, i've just learned how to vend like two weeks ago.. And i've noticed how alot of people are saying their account are being banned....
I mean I guess they could be lying, and I guess it could be another one of those ways to get free money :/
But i've also heard of alot of good venders and users with lots of gold being hacked.. Heck I even sall one happen (I think stressed ) In the exchange forum someone gave out a sash, first person to post won it (Of coarse I was too late) Turns out that account was hacked. (Or from what I heard, there was like a whole board about it 0_o )
I also heard that lots of users are being banned for stupid reasons.

I guess you could try to use the market place more then the exchange forum, I don't really know what to do gonk

I think the reason might be another

First.... Gaia did a huge banning thing on fishing bots in November, but not all users used their main account, most probably made a new mule and tried to hide as much as possible the connection between one account and the other.
So... how does one pass the gold they get from their fishing bot to the main account? Either buy stuff and give it via gifting. or put items to sell at a high price and buy it with a bid with a so-so price so the bot gets some gold to buy more bait.
So probably, the banning wasn't for people that were just great exchangers, but people that were trying to cover their "trading" with their bots u.u
Good thing Gaia has been really trying to stop this from happening anymore, it's really annoying the amount of bots around the fishing game D;

I've play the marketplace every now and then. and never got a problem u.u"
But also... I don't bot ^^

yeah I saw that. Seemed that she was a big regular at the exchange forum? Well i saw her post on her mule account in the exchange and trying to earn her gold back.. but some people are like, oh I was banned/ hacked/ scammed/ whatever and yet when you ask what their previous account was they can never say.

@STD: it's true, the whole botting thing was really annoying and I was glad that they fixed the problem.. i don't get how people thought they could get away with it the whole time stare Some people did deserve the banning as they did not get their gold fairly.
As for the market, I don't buy stuff off of it often just because I have no patience for it, so that's why i decided to give the exchange a try. But now I am wondering if i should start learning patience sweatdrop

Also, gaia admins can check into everything you do on here. From posting to chats to trades you have made. If they want to know something they'll check with or without your permission.

Yup yup
I'm not so sure if they managed to really fix the problem. They do something and the bots come back again, they fix it and they come back. The more security more the people that make the botting programs try to break into it ;T
Gaia should ban the IP. but it has it's complications

The market is safe, for all I know, unless you have what to be afraid of. It does require patience, personally I don't have much for it... but i'm gonna start a big quest so I might need to work it on the marketplace to make it go faster ;T

Gaia admnis have the power, we just can't know how they follow it and what is the protocol for banning people. They ban the guilty and they ban the innocent.
Maybe we need a couple of Gaia lawyers and a judge ;T

What a coincidence. O_O

I just read a petition earlier on today, similar to this thread.

I don't know what vending is, but I've been bidding on cheap items in thet Marketplace to sell back to stores recently.

The petition stated that the reason vendors were banned was because they refreshed too much so maybe the staff thought they were botting? o-o;;

I'm so paranoid about everything on Gaia now. xD;;

In the exchange forum,
I'm just super careful about who I'm
buying/trading with.
If they seem suspiciously eager to get
rid of an item, I won't but it. :B

But ya. D':
ARGH. I almost pity the admins
though- We weren't happy when there
were tons of botters and such and
now that they're trying to do something about it,
we're STILL not happy. Poor souls.
I hope they're getting paid well with all the
donations.

@STD- you know, a judge and lawyer type thing on gaia would be a good idea. Like the admins could make it so that certain gaia mods are actually lawyers for the wrongfully banned and trying to get their account back, people. It would actually probably be a good petition.. but I am not one for making them lol.

@Riceycake- but even refreshing your page to gain more gold is against the rules of gaia and has been stated that it is a banable deed. Though it`s not botting, it`s still against the rules and everyone should know the simple rules like that, seeing as they have mentioned it many times.

@ Indulge- I`m also pretty paranoid about most things on gaia, you never know what is going to happen. I actually have not been exchanging today in the forum. I rather let things die down first before I go back, well unless I find the right person to exchange with.. or I may just use my mule. I`m still unsure as to what i am going to do.. probably vending will be in my near future, as I want those penguin slippers pretty badly.
I`m sure the admins are going through a lot right now and in putting up with all the stupid b/s that a lot of gaians put them through.
