So we woke up this morning and our toilet wouldn't flush and our water was barely coming out of the pipes. I'm a Texan, so I don't know what to do in cold like this. When I mived to Tennessee, I didn't expect this cold of weather. We thought that the pipes were frozen, but someone else in our complex said that the building across busted a main water line early this morning.

Has this ever happened to you?
Did you ever change climates and not know what to expect?

It happens all the time in Oklahoma. >.>
We`re like bad weather central.
Everyone else is getting rain, and OK is flooding.
You get a little snow, our power`s out and we`re under seventeen inches of snow and ice.
There`s some wind, and there`s little forty-two tornadoes.

Everything`s multiplied in OK. . .

We've never had frozen pipes before. o.o
I come from England, so I guess I'm used to cold and wet weather.
And where I used to live, it snowed pretty much all year round :3

@ x__P o e t My dad lives in Idabel, Ok, so when I lived with him it wasn't so bad, but they have certainly gotten some pretty bad ice storms and certainly plenty of tornadoes.

@ Duchess Dill With all of the ice and snow you've gotten you have never had your pipes freeze? That would be the best thing to happen for me. I want the snow without the bursting pipes. ^^

Lawl. I`m a Nevadan.
I dealt with 60 degree weather in the winter before I moved away from Las Vegas.
Now I`m in Lousiville, KY and I`ve dealt with snow, Ice, fog and -12 degree winters. x`D

Ahhhh!!! I don't know what I would do if I had to deal with -12! That's just way too cold for me. My fiancee is from New Hampshire. In a way I'm glad that his mom kicked me out cause I convinced him to move down here to Tennessee. I'd hate to be in New Hampshire during winter. Who knows though, once we are married and have kids, we might end up moving back.

It gets cold here, but not very often do we have negative numbers for our temperature. >< But if its below, like, 75, it's waaaaaaaaaaay too cold for me. ><
I miss Cali weather. Except Cali doesn't get much snow. sad

It snowed a little here the other night and at work everyone was like, "You act like you have never seen snow before!" Duh! I'm from Texas, of course I haven't! ><

xD;
The pipes sometimes freeze here, usually a bit after midnight,
and then it depends on when they decide to thaw. Sometimes
it's around 8AM, and sometimes they don't thaw until Noon.
Which is sorta weird that they freeze anyways, 'cause it
only reaches usually 28 to 40 degrees F here in the winter.

D: And it's only recently that they've been freezing.
I think they need to be wrapped again, since it's been
8 years since we moved in....

&&& like Midnightrhose said,
it doesn't snow much hurr.
My town = One snow per winter season
&&& it's more like slush. a slushy snow. And only downtown.

lol
When I told every one in Cali I was moving here, they were like 'Omg! You'll see snow!'
And when I told everyone here I was from cali, they were all ' So you didn't know what snow was? omg!'

I'm used to the cold, I'm from NJ.. I can handle blizzards and such no problem. I live in Florida now and I'm terrified of hurricanes. crying

I called her on the phone and she touched herself...

It's kinda funny.. (well, not really) that you guys are having the weather we normally get up here in Canada and the last couple days here have been soo nice. I mean, its supposed to get cold again by the weekend but today it was like 16C which is about (60F). Around this time of year at the very warmest it's hovering around freezing.. but normally is at like -10C... not sure what that is in F but 0C=32F.

So yeah, today I walked to work and had to take off my coat part way and was walking in jeans and a T-shirt. ^^ Ugh I can't wait for spring so it's like this always. >_<

...I laughed myself to sleep.

I live in Jersey, so we have pretty average weather, but yeah, once in a while my pipes will freeze for a few hours, but nothing too, extreme.
My friend down the block though, her pipes burst and flooded her whole first floor.
D;
But her luck sucks anyway; her house is not even 20 years old and mines the second oldest in our town, about 120 years old.
xD
So, really, my pipes should be the ones bursting.
But I love the snow; I used to live in Italy and it snowed maybe twice and melted twice as fast as it fell, and it used to rain a ton, so everyone brought around umbrellas.
So now. . .it's not like I don't like rain, I just prefer not to be out in it anymore. The rain has worn out it's welcome with me.
:]
