Types of Matches:

Elimination Chamber- Taking the old NWA War Games concept to a whole new level, the Elimination Chamber contains six Superstars, two of whom begin the combat while the other four are held in compartments within the chamber. As the match goes on, the other four are released one by one into the fray. Unlike War Games, which was a tag team match, in the Elimination Chamber it’s every man for himself, with pinfall or submission being the only methods of elimination. The last survivor is the winner, and as has been the case in every EC match so far, the World Heavyweight Champion.

Ambulance Match- The Ambulance Match is one of the rarest in World Wrestling Entertainment history. Very few times have two Superstars competed in such a competition. The rules are simple, as there is only one -- the winner is the first Superstar to place his opponent into a ringside ambulance and close the door. Everything else is legal. As a result of this, Ambulance Matches often find themselves flowing outside of the ring. In addition, the ambulance is very often used as a weapon and/or launching pad.

Battle Royal- In a battle royal, a set number of Superstars (usually 20) all start in the ring at the sametime. When the bell rings, the Superstars go at it and it’s every man for himself. A Superstar is eliminated from the match once he is thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The winner of the battle royal is the last man standing.

Blindfold match- In this match, one or (usually) both Superstars have to wear a blindfold. Other than that, normal rules apply and the winner is decided by pinfall or submission. The first ever Blindfold Match was at WrestleMania VII between Jake "the Snake" Roberts and "The Model" Rick Martel. Martel had blinded Roberts when he sprayed him in the eyes with his cologne, Arrogance. The action resulted in a temporary loss of sight for Roberts. So Martel could feel what being blinded was like, both opponents were blindfolded for the match.

Boiler Room Match- The Boiler Room Brawl was used as a way to get such items as ladders and steel pipes into matches. As the name suggests, the Boiler Room Brawl takes place inside an arena boiler room. The winner is usually the first Superstar to escape the room.

Buried Alive Match- The Buried Alive Match can literally change the direction of one's career. The object of this match is to throw your opponent into a six-foot deep grave. Once he is in, the Superstar must then bury his opponent with dirt.

Casket Match- The object of this match is to beat your opponent to the point where he can no longer get up. Then put him in a ringside casket and close the lid. The first person to successfully do this is declared the winner.

Fatal Four Way Match- Very often, rivalries go beyond simple one-on-one disputes. When there's three Superstars involved, a Triple Threat Match is usually called. When there's four Superstars, however, the result is usually a Fatal Four Way Match. In these matches, four Superstars compete in one ring at the same time. It's every man for himself. Very often, these matches are of an elimination style, with the last man scoring a decision being declared the winner. In other cases, a Fatal Four Way Match ends with the first Superstar to score a decision picking up the win.

I Quit Match- As the name suggests, the object of this match is to make your opponent utter the words, “I quit.” This is another match where anything goes, and the action takes place anywhere and everywhere. The referee follows the actions with a microphone in hand in the event that a competitor gives up.

Hell in a Cell- When a steel cage just isn't enough to settle a long-standing rivalry, the Hell in a Cell is usually brought in. In a Hell in a Cell Match the ring is surrounded by a steel cage, but unlike a normal cage, it does not rest on the ring. Instead, it goes all the way down to the floor, leaving about six feet of space in between the cage and the ring. There is also a roof on the cage, so there is virtually no way out. A winner is determined by pinfall or submission. There are no disqualifications or count-outs.

Inferno Match- The Inferno Match is possibly the sickest of all WWE matches. Huge flames surround the ring, and the only way to win this match is to set your opponnent on fire.

Steel Cage- The Steel Cage Match is one of the oldest specialty matches in WWE. This type of match features an unforgiving steel structure that surrounds the ring. While inside the cage, the Superstars participating in the match usually use the steel as a weapon, throwing their opponents into it. A Steel Cage Match is won by pinfall or submission and/or escaping the cage (rules may vary depending on the individual match).

Iron Man Match- In a WWE Iron Man Match, there is a set time limit, usually 60 minutes, and the Superstar to score the most pinfalls and/or submissions in the allotted time is declared the winner.

Two out of Three Falls Match- Very often, competing in a one fall match is enough to exhaust a Superstar. That said, a Two-out-of-three Falls Match is a true test of endurance, as the winner is not declared until a Superstar records two falls. Falls are usually awarded on the basis as a traditional match - pinfall, submission, countout, disqualification.

Triple Threat Match- The Triple Threat Match is not all that unlike a traditional one-on-one match. The only difference is that another Superstar is thrown into the mix. All three Superstars compete at the same time, and it's every man for himself. The winner of a Triple Threat Match is the first Superstar to pick up the fall, either by pin or submission.

Hardcore Match- A Hardcore Match is truly that - hardcore! These types of matches are not meant for the weak of heart, as it is not unusual to see Superstars lose massive amounts of blood. There is no shortage of weapons in a Hardcore Match, either. The ring is usually surrounded by metal garbage cans, ladders, kendo sticks, fire extinguishers and so much more for Superstars to use on their opponents. Other than the usual violence, the object is the same - pin the man across the ring from you.

Handicap Match- All the same rules from a traditional match apply to a Handicap Match. The only difference is that one of the sides has more manpower than the other. In most cases, a Handicap Match is a two-on-one affair. However, two-on-three, two-on-four or even one-on-four affairs are not unheard of.

First Blood Match- The object of a First Blood Match is to make your opponent bleed. The first Superstar to spare a drop of blood is declared the loser. All weapons in this match are legal, as there are no disqualifications or count outs.

TLC Match- Tables, Ladders and Chairs Matches (TLC Matches) are some of the most exciting events in sports-entertainment. While the fans enjoy them, however, they can take years off a Superstar's career. In this type of match, tables, ladders and chairs are all legal. The object of the match, as is the case in a Ladder Match, is to ascend the ladder and capture a belt that hangs from the arena ceiling faster than your opponent.

Ladder Match- A Ladder Match is usually reserved for, but not limited to, title matches. In a Ladder Match, the championship belt up for grabs is suspended above the ring. The winner is crowned once a Superstar grabs the belt. To get the belt, a Superstar must ascend a ladder quicker than his opponent. While the premise sounds simple, the match becomes much more complicated once the Superstars begin using the ladder as a weapon and/or launching pad.

Tables Match- There are no pinfalls, submissions or countouts in a Tables Match. The only way to win such a match is to put your opponent through a table. This brutal match oftentimes results in internal injuries, especially to the ribs.

5 Count Pin Match- Instead of the Regular 3 second Match. It is a 5 second Match.

Extreme House of church Match- A extreme hardcore match in a church. There are many ways to win the match. Such as: You can leave threw the church doors. But there are three layers around there. like you go threw 2 double doors the are 50 yards. then two double doors. and then 50 ft. to the last door. But they are all chained from the outside. If it's for the title then there is a title hanging in the middle main room.Another way to win is by pin fall or submission.. Interference is allowed. But you have to break threw the doors and stuff.

Dreamless Abyss Match- Around the ring was a structure build like the Hell in the Cell. The difference was that this was made of the bulletproof glass and it wasn't as tall. The ceiling of the cube dome was about fifteen feet from the ring. All in all, it was close to a twenty foot tall structure. Holes with a diameter of three feet were placed in the cell for a sort of way to air out and bring air in. The ceiling of the cell even had barbed wire mixed with razor wire wrapped around these holes. Anything that would touch the ceiling would not feel at home. Probably would make a high flyer think twice before jumping. Along the walls, some weapons were also tied up to these holes. They were tied up with metal wire, though. These weapons were only on the south side of the cubed dome.To win you have to knock your opponent out for 15 second. Sorta like a Last man Standing match.

Backstage Match- A Match that is taken place backstage in a Room where there are weapons everywhere. But the room is locked and there is a ref there. Only there to count the pin fall. Because the only way to win is by pin fall.

Last man Standing match Version 2.0- a 15 second Last man standing match.

5 Count Anywhere- Falls Count any where and a 5 count pin.No Submission.

Hell on Earth- There is a big cage leading from the entrance down to the ramp and around the ring. The ring is filled with caskets, weapons, etc. Once 2 superstars enter, a ring of fire is lit up, surrounding the squared circle on the outside. The goal is to put a superstar in a casket and set it on fire.

Lion's Den match- The Lion's Den match aimed to mimic the look and feel of mixed martial arts matches. A sloping, angular, steel cage was set up, with rules stating that the only way to achieve victory was through knock out or submission

Punjabi Prison match- The Punjabi Prison match, named for the Punjab region of India consists of two large bamboo cages. The first — four sided and 16 feet (4.8 meters) tall — surrounds the ring, while the second—20 feet (6 meters) tall with eight sides — surrounds the first.
The inner cage has a four foot (1.2 m) by four foot door on each of its sides, with a referee standing by to open them at a wrestler's request. Each door may only be opened once and is only allowed to remain open for sixty seconds, after which it is padlocked. Should all four doors end up locked before the wrestlers escapes, they are forced to climb out over the top, where the bamboo is fashioned into spikes. Between the two cages are sometimes placed two tables, upon which are weapons (both "medieval" and "bamboo" variations of standard wrestling weapons). Once a wrestler has escaped the first cage, they must climb over and out of the second cage, with the first wrestler having both of their feet touch the arena floor being declared the winner.

Gangsta's Paradise- Gangsta's Paradise is an Extreme Championship Wrestling cage match featuring teams of wrestlers fighting inside the cage with weapons in play

Taped Fist match- For a Taped Fist match the wrestlers are allowed to tape and/or wrap their hands to allow them to punch harder without damaging their hands. A variation of the match exists, the Taipei Death match, in which the taped fists are dipped in super glue, then broken glass.

Strap match- A Strap match, known by many names and done with many slight variations, is any match where the competitors are paced on the opposite ends of a restraint to keep them in close physical proximity. By definition the strap — and anything tied to it — are considered legal and in play weapons. The most common rule for victory is for one wrestler to have to go around the ring, touching all four corners in order and without stopping, although they can also end in pinfalls. Because of the strap's legality, and subsequent use as a choking device, submissions are generally not allowed.

Light tube Deathmatch- A Light tube Deathmatch is a match where a wrestler seeks to throw their opponent into a cache of light tubes before winning by pinfall or submission.

Glass Cell- This Match is a Hell Cell Surrounding. The Only way to get into the Cell threw a Square Hole at the Top. But you don't want to get into the Cell. Because there is a Barderwire Net across the Canvas. Well, hanging from Mid rope To mid rope. But Above that. There is a Big Piece of Glass. On the top rope. Also part of the match is a Scaffold. That way if you don't want to climb the cell. You just go to the ramp. Then climb the side of the Tron and get up there. The Way to win is By getting your opponent to touch the glass.. Just Touch it. When that happens the match is over. But the Glass is super easy to break. A Lb of pressure could break it.

Table Cage- You can wins by pinning, escaping submission.. There will be tables in the cage, that is the only legal weapon other then the cage it self.

6 Sided Ring Match- A 6 side ring, There are other match to this match, you can have single, triple threat, or tag team matches.

Year of Hell- A 2 out of 3 match with 2 people Chained together. Or for a tag team match your partner is chained to you.

American Hybrid Strongstyle Rules",which meant the following scenarios:
(1)A 20 count of an opponent outside the ring determined a countout.
(2)Only 3 rope breaks were allowed during the match.
(3)A fall in the match was determined by either a pinfall,a submission or a knockout.

Relaxed Rules Match
The rules of the match Are..The Rules are Relaxed. Except for the Pin fall is the only way to win. 1.2.3. Anywhere as long as there is some sort of ref that counts it.

Credit to Wikipedia on some of these.

Seemed the logical place to put this:

Everyone be advised, due to the constant changes with both the rosters of Raw and SmackDown!, as well as persona changes, I recommend everyone go back into their character Profile and add two listings to their profile.

Brand: (raw or smackdown)
Persona: (face or heel)

Hopefully, this will alleviate confusion as it is difficult for even the mods to keep up with changes as quickly as they happen. If everyone could do this, we would be greatly appreciative. Thank you.

To help reorganize this guild, every match will be on a limit. If a match is not done in two weeks and all the members participating in the match is active (that means at least a post every other day), a dice roll will be to determine the winner and the winner have to write the ending.

If someone has not posted for three days in a match thread, the opposing wrestler can post an autohit. If the person still has not posted in a week or is nonactive, the opposing person will win the match.

This goes into effect today.

Mod Edit:No longer Effective! Read the first post and posts after 4/6/09!!
