mmmk. so yesterday, my mom took me into the medical clinic/hospital whatever to get some hardcore anti-biotics for the infection i have on the inside of my upper arm. (no not the arm pit, but kinda in that direction).
so we go in and he actually says they will have to get the infection out so that the prescription can work faster. mind you, this was no small infection.
so he goes to his supply cupboard and i am pissed off because this is so sudden. he takes out all the cleaning stuff and a syringe with a needle. i am about to break down and cry cause i know what is going to have to happen.
then he numbs me, but as i found out later in the surgery, not enough. something is wrong with me cause i am never numb enough. anyways. then he gets a scauple thingy (i just called it a knife) and cuts me in the arm. ; o ;
he then gets these weird little metal things and separates the skin and then he digs out the infection. that part was painful because of all the pressure, but not as bad as when he cleaned it. gonk
there was a needle-less syringe with this suction cup thingy on the end and he puts it over the cut and blasts distilled water in it! OWWWW. <|||||3
now i have to take hydrocordone for the pain and the most effective anti-biotic out there (or one of them, at least). but my wound is all wrapped up in this blue medical tape and it might as well cover my entire arm. x__x;;
anyways.
so madg; What have your personal experiences been when dealing with hospitals?

And then she got high off the drugs... -snicker snicker- > w>
I haven't really been to the hospital recently. I've only gone back when I stabbed my leg, and then the time my knee swelled into the size of a small melon...
I don't know what my worse would be... Prolly the knee.
Nope. I'm fine with them.
None to recover... I used to take ADD meds though.

 I`ve been to hospitals since I was two. ._.
Mainly because my parents were paranoid I had 4 holes within the septum of my heart (which all healed with the exception of one)
But the only scary part about it was the talks about having to have surgery on it to put a balloon in the defect so It could close. ><;;;
But the cardiologist said I will always have an elevated heart rate and elevated blood pressure from this, and that I have to take antibiotics whenever I get dental work done to prevent endocarditis. Look into my eyes...and tell me what you see...

I've only been to the hospital under injury twice in my life. Once when I was 3, I cut my eyebrow on my train set. When my Mom found me, she said I was just sitting there playing with my trians with blood trickling down from my forehead. Second time was because some girl thought she was so cool and decided to throw a kick at my sack...

Surgery rules. When I busted both my legs in (Name of Martial Arts School Here), they had to do some extreme painful surgery, but man it was so awesome how they fixed me up. I think I'll be a surgeant when I come of age. cool

now that you mention it, it is pretty amazing how much doctors can do for you these days.
OH OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THE FRICKIN PRICE.
This all took less than a half hour,
... and we were charged almost $400. Not including all my medications.

I have to go to the doctors/hospital all the time because I'm diabetic. & I'm mildly phobic of needles. Not a good mix.
The worst thing though, was when they tested me to see if I had diabetes. They made me drink this horrible goopy orange soda stuff. And then they ended up not being able to draw enough blood in my arms. (I have really tiny veins) So they took razor blades to my fingers to draw blood. =.= Not a fun experience.

I rarely have to pay a visit to a hospital because nothing really serious ever happens to me. The worst thing that I've ever gone through was when I passed out while swimming and had to go through all this stuff like getting tests to make sure it wasn't something serious. That happened like 5 years ago, and I haven't been to a hospital for myself since then.

 Heh. Not really...It was kinda cool seeing the echo and stuffs. Plus my sister Kim worked for my cardiologist, so it was less of a nervous experience.
I still wasn`t use to the fact that once I started developing, I had a male cardiologist running the transducer over my boobs. x.x; Look into my eyes...and tell me what you see...

Hm... I can't remember it well but my worse hospital experience was probably when I almost died from blood poisoning as a child.
Anyway, all I remember was screaming and thrashing while doctors/nurses held me down and put the stickies on my chest then held a mask over my face then nothing. I don't even remember why I was freaking out.

I got a head injury when I was a baby too. I climbed out of my crib and hit my head and had a seizure. I wonder if that contributed to the disaster that is me today. eek

I would stand in line for this
I had to go to the hospital to give birth, and it wasn`t that bad. Except for the fact that the doctor was trying to convince me to do a C-section. I was like "SCREW YOU MAYNE!" Seriously, I did it without pain killers and with no C-section. Did I have any problems? Noooo. Afterwards, I was all "Told ya, b***h", though I didn`t actually say that. >.> I was afraid he`d put something in the IV or something. *twitch*
The only other time I`d ever gone to the hospital for something serious, that I can remember, was when I got white-blinded play rugby|football|beat the crap out of everyone. Someone`s knee hit me in the back of the head, and I couldn`t see anything but white for a bit. Freaked me out a bit, so I went to the ER, only, I couldn`t remember where it was. So I had to drive through the town, going "Hm. . . Wait! It`s the tallest big brick building! OVER THERE."
I was fine. Just a minor concussion was all. And it hurt like a b***h the next day.
[I probably should`ve gone when I had food poisoning, but that`s a different story.]
@Bella - I know the smell. I hate it to. Ewww.
