I called her on the phone and she touched herself... Singles Awareness Day.. also known as Saint Valentines Day. Love it or hate it, it's almost here. So what do you plan on doing? Doing something with your sweetie? Watching sappy movies at home by yourself with a tub of ice cream? Ignoring it entirely? Hoarding gaian event items?
Lets share opinions and/or stories, and to be fair I'll start.
I personally think the whole day is a total sham. I'm not big into romance and I think dedicating ONE day a year to make singles feel like crap and put the pressure on men in relationships to spoil their girlfriends is stupid. It's pretty much an excuse for greeting card companies and flower shops to make a lot of money in one day. I just hate all the hype around it.
As for valentines stories.. I only really have one for now. Last year at this time I was in a relationship with a boy and we weren't into all that mushy stuff. Our plan was to go with a few friends to this Johnny Truant (it's pretty much hardcore/screamo lol) show. We had a really bad storm that day and my dad refused to let me leave the house. I sat at home alone and my boyfriend and friends went to the show without me. >.> Oh, and I think he bought me a chocolate SpongeBob.. which.. I HATE SpongeBob lol. It was okay chocolate though.
Yep, that's all I got for now. Maybe some of you have some better stories than mine. xD ...I laughed myself to sleep.

Meh, I hate Valentines Day, and I could care less about it. I don't have any good stories, cause I hate it, pretty much. And uhm.... the best story I have was when I asked this girl I really liked to be my Valentine, and she yelled at me, it was bad. That's prolly why I don't like it anymore, I mean. I didn't mind before.

I'm not going out with someone at the moment, but my best guy friend kissed myu cheek on a dare today, then he told me he like med on MSN, so I might end up spending it with him

Well, it's my first year with a boyfriend, who's also my first boyfriend, so I'm actually excited. 4laugh It's also going to be the mark of us being together for two weeks, so it's pretty cool. I'm planning on finally kissing him... Maybe. If I don't wuss out... redface Oh well. I just hope I can finally do it. whee Still not sure exactly what I'll be doing besides going to school, though.

  Valentine's Day is so stupid. xD It doesn't even count as a real holiday since you don't get the day off on it. :]
If I ever get a boyfriend that wants to do something "romantic" with me on Valentine's Day, boy gonna get b***h slapped. Do couples really need an excuse to be all "omgilu"? neutral I guess it's too much of a hassle to be sweet on your boyfriend or girlfriend on any other day of the year. D;

I've never had a boyfriend, so it's never really meant a whole lot to me.
As for plans, well...meh. I got nothing planned, and probably won't do anything out of the ordinary.

I have 2 stories. o__o
The first was in my senior year, and my then-boyfriend was absent on Valentine's Day AGAIN [as he always was...D:], and I was in my English class with my classmates playing out The Crucible, and one of my friends comes in with some roses and gives me one, claiming it wasn't from him [it really wasn't, thank goodness]. David! Chris! Y'all remember that? Or were you guys absent that day, too? rofl
The second one happened last year. Once again, my then-boyfriend and I were separated on the day. He had work, I was in an evening class [we coulda spent the morning together, but NOOOOOOOO] so one guy in specific called me and asked if I wanted to spend the evening with him. We went out for pizza at an awesome restaurant, goofed off, walked around the town at night...it was awesome.
The guy from those stories is my now current bf. He asked me if I've ever gotten a V-day gift, even if it was something simple like flowers, and I just replied "No." Which is true. No one has ever given me aaaaaaanything. He's completely baffled rofl So he has something planned out this week, but I have no idea what he's doing o__o

I never though V-day was a bad day, or a sham...For being an always-taken girl who has never gotten a gift from her own bf, it's okay. Some V-day gifts are soooo tacky anyway. xD And think about it: Do you REALLY want your lover spouting out their love to you 24/7/365? I sure wouldn't. O___O;;;;

I personally don't care at all about valentines day. I also love being single and I'm not in a rush to get into any relationships.
But it makes me upset every year when I see people who do care, like my older sister who's very sensitive about being single, get depressed. I remember last year she was really cranky and depressed so I went out and bought her some chocolates. I knew it wouldn't count as anything since it was from me but she said it made her feel a little better.

I would stand in line for this
Valentine`s Day is probably going to be just like every other day. One of us wakes up super early to change Rheyn, or burp him or something. Then Alan goes to work, I clean, do things and tend to him. Then I make dinner. Alan gets home, I ask how his day was. He changes clothes because his work shirts are uncomfortable.
He plays with Rheyn for a bit, we eat dinner, we watch CSI and stuff. Then some time later, we go to sleep.
Maybe we`ll watch a movie that has some kind of lovey-dovey feelings in it.
Like. . . The Bourne Identity. . . Or something. . .
Maybe True Lies.
