So I've been a vegetarian for a little over a month and a half now. My parents decide they no longer will allow me to be a vegetarian and force me to eat meat. I tried to show my mom the videos. But, she doesn't care. She won't listen to me when I try to talkabout it. What should I do?

Eat some meat kiddo. It'll do you some good. Unless you're trying to lose some weight, I see no reason for somebody to eat only veggies. I'm not trying to hate on vegetarians, I respect their ideas, but I have to say it isn't the best damn thing for your body. I'm taking Health classes right now and meat is a vital portion of our diet. Even though the human body wasn't made to consume meat (we're meant to eat only bushes, believe it or not) it's a part of the food chain, take the meat portion away from the food chain, and the whole damn thing collapses. Welcome to reality bro, we're an animal and we're at the top of the food chain for a reason.

Meats contain nearly all if not all of the 22 amino acids your body needs to make the protein chains it needs. Vegetables contain these amino acids, but in much less quantity and variety. But if you plan it out right, vegetables can perfectly fit into the empty space meat leaves if you decided to stop eating it. I would never do it tho'. Meat tastes too good. whee

Considering most animal cruelty videos are exaggerated bullshit, and are only made to instill fear into us, quit being a brat about it and eat the meat. There's a hell of a lot more crap in vegetables than there are in meat.
Hepatits in Green Onions E-coli in Sprouts.
Etc. =_=;

Perhaps you should tell your parents about it?

I am disappointed at all the replies to this thread. If someone has chosen to be a vegetarian, you don't tell them to eat meat.. even if his/her parents are forcing them to eat it. They have clearly made a decision based on whatever personal beliefs they may have NOT to eat meat.
What part of making a decision like being a vegetarian makes you a brat??
YES there are plenty of good things in meat, however those things can also be found in tofu (lots of protein), nuts, vegetables, fruits and vitamin supplements. The biggest problem most vegetarians have is that they aren't getting the proper nutrients, because they aren't replacing the ones they would get from eating meat once they cut it out of their diet.
As for e-coli and hepatitis.. wash your fruit and vegetables. (Seriously.. never had that problem in Canada)
I would suggest sitting down and explaining to your parents in a very diplomatic way that this is a decision that you have made and would like to continue to practice a vegetarian lifestyle. Sometimes new things can be difficult for parents to understand (even in this day and age). But screaming and yelling at them, will only make your situation more difficult. The more adult you are about the situation the more likely they will be to listen to you. Prove to them that you are serious, and not just chasing another Hollywood fad.

I'd also like to point out that part of being on top of the food chain is our intelligence, which includes our ability to reason which sets us apart from other animals anyway. Being able to CHOOSE what we eat, is a part of that reason.

Natrual selection. Yep, we're talking about it. But why are we discussing about this anyways? I could live without veggies, but sometimes I had to. Sure, we're omnivores. Omnivores man! So why eat veggies? I don't know, but Noxess is 100% right on that. *Eating cabbage with eyes on them.* You know, it's up to you. You're a grown man, so just remember this. Be nice and tell your parents how you feel. Hey! Even if they're bad like my dad, just remain calm and tell them... oui!
