Million Emo March

So on may 31st in London, there is to be what I like to call a 'Million Emo March' outside the Daily Mail (a UK News Paper, very much akin to fox news) because of the bad representation the paper has given emo culture and the band MCR.

Now all this is fair enough, except they obviously haven't thought things through. Lets put it this way; Emo's been called a suicide cult by the paper, emo's are marching on the site of the paper... can anyone else see the headline;

"SUICIDE CULT TRIES TO STOP PRESS!"

Its a nice idea and usually I'm all up for a protest, but the organisers obviously have very little media savvy and don't realise they are going to do more harm then good. Now why do I care so much about this given my views on all things emo and especially MCR related? Well to be honest I think we've established emo (in the pop culturally accept term) is unfortunatly here to stay and us older alt. cultures have to try to help it become something, at least semi-credible, if only to stop the goths complaining when emo is passed off as part of goth culture. Well just thought thats an interesting tid bit of news for you to devour and mull over.

What I seem to find funny is how so many "medias" get goth and emo so confused. Not talking about what you are, but the media in general. It's gone around my town from the media that goth is the "suicidal cult" as you have put it. I see much difference in teh two but they lump us all togther..It's kind fof anoying how they can say s**t and plaster it all over TV and newspapers but never actually find the facts.

Long story, but in short.

I joined, took the piss, would have been banned, but the VC at the time thought I was fantastic, because I never aimed my piss taking at anyone in particular, just the stereotypes. Got promoted to a mod 3 days after joining because I had a stupidly high post count. Some drama went down, I took control of the board as a VC the original owner lost interest and so, I made an offer and several guild members helped raise the cash with me agree'd as administrator because I do a damn fine job of keeping most a** holes out.
