I looked around the Guild and could not find a Tenchi Cosplay Topic so I started one. A week or so ago I went to ACEN in Chicago. And for this con (being my 2nd one I've gone to) I decided to do a Ryoko cosplay.

Those were some of my photos from the weekend.

Those are great costumes. :3 XD That first photo is very funny. <333 Love it, love it! (You all's sewing capabilities make me [a noob anyway] feel insecure. XD)


I cosplayed for the first time this summer at A-Kon 19 in Dallas. I made my kimono, obi, and etc; and while it wasn't totally awesome, it did not turn out too bad. It did wrinkle very much though. D=



I am Aeka (this is before my headpiece broke [ crying ]), my friend Bridget is Mihoshi, and my friend Nicole is Kiyone. We had a Ryoko, but she was being a bit of a premadonna. We were going to have a photos done by a professional, but since or Ryoko was not ready to go, we just canceled it. Meh.





This last photo is special because the man in the foreground is THE NABESHIN! Shinichi Watanabe!! (He directed Tenchi Muyo! GXP) T__T He really was excited that we cosplayed as Tenchi characters.

Oh yeah, after my headpiece broke. XD

But yeah, I am hoping to work on my sewing skillzorez and all that. I would love to cosplay again.

The world needs more old school anime cosplayers!

I think we are trying to go for Slayers next year!

Gah Nabeshin is totally freaking amazing lol. He's like the ultra ultra cool dude that NB from GXP is modeled after. I adore Nabeshine in a totally non-gay way and look up to him as a role model.

Nabeshin was so nice and funny. T__T We sat at a panel session with him. It was exciting. biggrin biggrin
He does not speak English except for a few things, but his translator was a really nice lady. Nabeshin gave us huge autographs and let me take his placard, which he doodled on, that was on the autograph table.

I know how to make the gems.

Take some clear hadesive like glue that dries clear, or clearish and add a bottle of red food coloring into it. shake well and then make dime or penny sized droplets on a sheet of wax paper. let dry then peel. Creapy Crawler jell would work but its not clear.

now if you want 3D 360 degree gems you can take some canning wax, cut it into two halves. heat a marble and sandwhich it between the way to make a mold. then heat some wire and press in one half of the mold to make a channel and pour the glue mixture in, or find a wax or plastic that will due.
