I, Lawrence Craft, am a merchant for the "Loewen Trading Union". I travelled to a town named pasroe to trade salt for furs. On my way out I found a girl in the back of my wagon. This girl had the ears and tail of a wolf, and she claimed to be "Horo the wise". Wishing to leave the town that she has stayed near, providing good harvests to, she makes a deal with me to take her back north to her homeland "yoitsu", and in exchange, she will increase my profits along the way.
And so our journey begins.
[No, this is not an RP game - though I suppose it could be made into one] This is a very enjoyable anime by the title of "Spice and Wolf". mrgreen Sadly it has not been released in english yet. crying The "light novels" are being translated by "Yen Press". smile The second season has been confirmed for japan only. (so far) crying Kadokawa Pictures USA, has acquired an "In-house" licence for north america, but no distributor has yet been announced. sweatdrop I only hope that they don't screw it up like the translators and editors of sailor moon and cardcaptors did. scream

No it's not the same. Both of those are on DVD right?
But when they bring anime to america, they only make ONE version, and then your stuck with it no matter how crappy you think that version is. Basically their saying "This is the way we like it, so it's the only one we're going to make legal". If they released different versions, then you could pick which one you want, and I wouldn't mind so much. But they don't. They only release it how they think it should be, sometimes completely destroying it, and then they try to make all other versions illegal so you don't get the choice. That is why I curse them to H***, and that is why I torrent. Because they shred something, and make it illegal and nearly impossible to get any other version.
It's the same reason I hate censoring. Because they don't just censor what's extreme. They censor every stupid little detail that they don't like, because they don't know how to censor in moderation. Once they get started they don't stop. Also they don't know how to censor smoothly, so you won't notice the censoring. Instead they make the whole thing look so D*** choppy, It's like it was cut and pasted by a 2 year old.
So I decided that if I'm going to watch something, I'd rather watch something that is uncut, unedited(except subbed or dubbed), and uncensored. That way I can see the characters as close to the way that they were meant to be seen. Instead of being so F*** up, that their brain should be exploding from their own thoughts.
The reason that we have this whole "out of control" censoring problem is because of stupid parents that won't get off their lazy A** and control what their own kids watch, instead of whining to the companies and turning them into CORPORATE BABYSITTERS.
There, I censored myself. (happy?) wink

xwhateverxdudex "glomps back" Yeah it will. But they just got the licence, so it will be QUITE a while, before it's released. Heck it's a NEW anime even in japan. So I guess that we're lucky that it was picked up so soon. Unless they totally SHRED it when they bring it over. Then I will curse them for all eternity. And continue the download of the original japanese versions. twisted yay subtitles is all i can say. for as you should know subs>dubs
