This just came to me a while ago. I think I've kind of found out Bowser's life story.
In the original super mario bros., he stole the princess, but also stole one toad. At the castle, he cloned the toad 7 times and he cloned himself 9 times. (the other just in case. Also, I'm using the american released games.)
In SMB2, while Wart was doing his stuff, Bowser created a serum that made the pregnency process faster. (basically the baby could be born in one week.)
So in SMB3, he took Peach and raped her (yeah, had to say it) and made his own kids, which he also cloned (hence the return of the Koopa Kids in SMW)
But in SMB3, he cloned himself one more time, but this clone was to go through the standard aging process. (like in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones) and Bowser jr. was introduced in SMS.
And that leads to the story in New Super Mario Bros. with Bowser dying and reapearing as Dry Bowser.
So, there's my idea about Bowser's life. I hoped you liked it.
Note: I only used the 2D Mario games. No SM64 because I kind of thought that it had it's own seperate plot.

Regulust Wow...That was the big waste of time. Harsh. The Mario games aren't made to be "canon."

dragn99 Funny, but completely pointless otherwise... Everyone knows that the mother of the Koopa Kids was Birdo. Which, in itself, is ironic since Birdo first started out as a pink guy dinosaur with a red bow who somehow had a sex change and became a girl.

That doesn't prove anything other than the fact that Bowser's dungeon doubles as an incubator: any reptile considers its mother to be the first thing it sees when it hatches.
Oh, new theory: Yoshi eggs exposed to radiation. xp
