Indeed, it really would. Now before you say anything about how it would kill the series, take a look at Mario Legend of the Seven stars. If I am correct, that was Mario's first RPG. Yes, Yes, Square helped, but still. Look at Paper Mario. It's incredible.

I would love to see a turn based RPG featuring Kirby. Picture him fighting alongside MK, Dedede, and maybe even Adelaine. The Halberd, Dragoon, Warp Star all methods of transportation. Certain items you buy from shops proveide special powers, absorbing certain enemy attacks gives you common powers, making a sidekick in battle as summoning...

I'm an RPG whore, what can I say.

Actually that could be an incredible game. The attack items could be different kirby hats. The squeaks could even work as the underground shop/black market guys. You would have to collect treasure bits to trade to them for special items.

The ultimate boss fight weapon has to be the star rod though.

Add a Metroid element to the kirby game. Somebody stole his copy power and he has to go on a quest to regain his different powers and stop the bad guys like Samus usually does.

Paper Kirby would fail.

He could be a healing power in the RPG, slightly stronger than cook, but makes you vulnerable.
Still makes for a good story.

There are plenty of power attacks already though. I think Crash and Mike are enough.

Animal- Perhaps in an RPG it could be used for digging for secret treasure.
Backdrop– Probably a combat only skill.
Ball– Status effect that stops all special attacks?
Balloon– No idea.
Beam– Gotta be an early combat skill.
Bomb- Wall wrecking? Damages all enemies in combat.
Bubble– Causes bubble status effect, but when you attack the enemy in the bubble it pops.
Burning– Burns down barricades, and enemies in combat.
Clean– Cures status effects?
Cook– Healing or a mega attack.
Copy– Could be used as an enemy scanner, that is what it does.
Crash– ULTIMATE POWER!
Cupid– Hits airborn enemies?
Cutter– Throws multiple cutters for a multi hit attack?
Fighter– Powerful combat ability. Button command combos
Fire– Could be a an attack coupled with burning.
Freeze– Water crossing power, freezes enemies.
Ghost– Possess enemy.
Hammer– Hammers in pegs, and buries enemies.
Hi-Jump– Could hit like fly from Pokemon, also get to higher areas in the overworld.
Ice– Same as freeze? Maybe an ice shield?
Jet– Find jet stations to travel in the overworld?
Laser– armor piercing?
Light– Blind enemy or light caves.
Magic– So many uses, can't think of one.
Metal– Defense buff, better than stone.
Mike– Powerful attack.
Mini– Hidden areas in the overworld?
Mirror– Deflect attacks.
Missile– Could be like bomb.
Needle– Attack that could cause a pinned status effect.
Ninja– Ninja stuff? Maybe sneak in the overworld.
Paint– makes invisible enemies visible, reveals stuff in the overworld, I DON'T KNOW!
Parasol– The defense move. Who needs a shield.
Plasma– Offensive, causes stun.
Sleep– great heal, but induces sleep.
Smash– Like fighter, but more SSB.
Spark– The defensive plasma.
Stone– Def boost.
Suplex– Like backdrop. It is the same ain't it?
Sword– Like fighter.
Throw– Smash enemies into each other, toss an item for damage?
Tornado– I can't make up a power for this, too much bias. I would make it too good.
UFO– Rains lasers from the sky!
Wheel– Hits all ground enemies.
Wing– Maybe a flight minigame?
Yo-yo– Awesome combat skill.
