Anyone have any information on Woodstock 2009? I heard it was in works to be set up in San Francisco this year with headline bands like Santana, The remaining Who members, CSN, Paul Mccartney and others. Post any info you can find on this event, thank you! heart

Edit: Here is a picture of my mom at the 1969 Woodstock festival

I didn't think there was going to be a woodstock. At Woodstock 1999, there was quite a bit of violence and four rapes that occured. That line-up seems a bit weak for Woodstock. At Woodstock 1999, there was quite a few bands:

2 Skinnee J's
3rd Bass
Alanis Morissette
Big Sugar
Bruce Hornsby
Buckcherry
Bush
The Chemical Brothers
Collective Soul
Counting Crows
Creed featuring Robby Krieger
Dave Matthews Band
Djoliba
DMX
Elvis Costello
Everclear
Everlast
Fatboy Slim
Full Devil Jacket
G. Love and Special Sauce
George Clinton & the P.Funk All-Stars
Gigolo Aunts
Godsmack
Guster
Ice Cube
Insane Clown Posse
James Brown
Jamiroquai
Jeff Beck
Jewel
John Entwistle
Kid Rock
Korn
Limp Bizkit
Lit
Live
Los Lobos
Megadeth
Metallica
Mickey Hart/Planet Drum
Mike Ness
Moby
moe.
Muse
The Offspring
Oleander
Our Lady Peace
Particle
Pulp
Rage Against the Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Reveille
The Roots featuring Erykah Badu
Rusted Root
Serial Joe
Sevendust
Sheryl Crow
Snoop Dogg
Spitfire
String Cheese Incident
The Tragically Hip
The Umbilical Brothers
Vertical Horizon
Willie Nelson
Wyclef Jean with the Refugee Allstars

Usually Woodstock had big name bands performing such as Metallica and Rage Against the Machine. Woodstock 1999 was the place to be, sadly I don't think they'll ever have ones like it again due to the violence.

I don't think they're gonna have another Woodstock. If they do, it should be every 10 years WITH some Classic Rock Bands. Motley Crue, The Who, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey, etc.

That's a good idea.

Only classic rock bands? Gotta live the times man, the last Woodstock had a badass line-up. Classic music is great, but without new music, I would probably shoot myself. xD

Yeah man, Classic Rock. I don't think any old Hippie that would attend another Woodstock would like hearing the screaming of Slipknot, lmao. It might give'em a heart attack.

I doubt that they will have another, especially in San Fran. Woodstock was named for its location, so if they have another it will HAVE to be in Woodstock, otherwise it will just be a festival of a different name. It would be cool, but I doubt it would happen, or if it does, not this year.

Yeah. But, there is a Hippie festival that goes on every year called "Hippiefest." I guess it's like Woodstock of the new millienium in a way.

I heard it was a 'maybe'. Hmm...
And the Germany one is a different festival, but it is Germany's version of Woodstock.
As for Hippiefest; it is like Woodstock music wise, but it is not really a festival because it is more of a concert because it travels around to different states as opposed to setting up a place for people to come to.
