As most of you know, the pilgrims had it tough when they first invaded this country. If it weren't for the Native Americans, the English pilgrims would have died out long before their time. So, to commemorate the Natives helping out, the pilgrims and Natives had a joint feast. That evolved into what we Americans call Thanksgiving. CONTEST ENDS 11/30/09.
Here's the contest- it's an avatar and writing one again. -both are needed. Remember the writing part is short! Can be one sentence if you want.
Any outfit you want that is in the spirit of the season, Native American, English pilgrim, or actually, any pilgrim since the US is a melting pot from all over the world. Human or not, it doesn't matter-
Tell what you are thankful for in no more than 250 words *and no I won't count them, but I can tell if it's too long*
3 prizes, 10k, 7500 and 5k for 1st, 2nd and third and if we have enough entries, I might add a couple of honorable mention prizes of 2k

This is a really awkward holiday for me ... we don't celebrate it in any way at all here.
Disclaimer - I don't own either of the characters in my little thing, it also contains spoilers for the Transformers films. You have been warned!

Looking down towards the Human for a while, Optimus considered the question posed him; Human's from certain places gave thanks at this time and Sam had encouraged him to think of something he was grateful for.
On the surface it seemed like he had very little to be grateful for, his planet had been destroyed and he felt responsible for that since he had been his plan to throw the All Spark into space. His own twin had been trying to kill him for thousands of years ... Nothing to be thankful for there! Hundreds of his friends had died.
"I am thankful that I have a new home," Optimus settled on at length. "And that so many of those I feared lost have joined us here. I am glad that you restored my Spark and gave me life again because there are many things I still intend to enjoy. Thank you," He said sincerely in a way that only he could.
Awkwardly the teenager rubbed the back of his head, "Sure, that's fine ... don't mention it." He tried to hide that he was blushing. "And ... uhh ... I'm grateful that you believed in me when I didn't believe in me,"
"It is easier to believe in something else then in ourselves Sam," Optimus offered, knowing this better then anyone.
"Well, happy thanksgiving, big guy,"
"Happy Thanksgiving Sam,"
