This particular thread revolves around Bakura Ryou/Omote no Bakura. In other words, the non-evil Bakura in the series. If you wish to discuss the other two Bakura, they are paired together in the Yami no Bakura discussion thread.

I will post my opinions first in a form format, so you can either choose to copy and use the format, or make up your own.
Basic Opinion/What You Answered in the Poll: Though not as much as so many other characters, I would say that I love Bakura Ryou.
Why You Hold That Opinion: [SPOILER WARNING] He's really just completely adorable. He's quiet, kind, kind of naive/out of it, clumsy, a bit of a dork, yet oftentimes mysterious and just plain pretty... it's like he takes all the traits I love in an adorable uke and just mixes them perfect. ^^
Sadly though, he just gets so little character development in the series, that I've had a hard time remembering how much I like him, and being interested in his character as much as I am others. He almost always just gets little appearances between his times being possessed by Yami no Bakura, and though he is adorable in them, he is also always clueless, and is almost never able to contribute anything to the plot, at least of his own will. It also seems like the most development he ever got was when he was first introduced (Monster World in the manga, turning the characters into Duel Monsters cards in the anime), and then after that he promptly faded into the shadow of his dark half, becoming nothing more than a vessel for the villain of the series.
As awful as those 'Yami no Bakura abuses and rapes Bakura' fanfictions usually are, I do have to give them credit that at least they give Omote no Bakura some more significance than he does in the show, like a more in depth personality, and a bigger connection to his dark half besides simply being a host. So when your characterization is being out-developed by a crappy fanfiction, you know the character needs more screen time...
So yeah, most of my complaints on Bakura are that he simply doesn't have enough to him, but everything I do see of him, I am completely fond of. Also, his voice is totally adorable, and he really reminds me of one of my OCs that I'm quite fond of. ^^
Favorite Characters to Pair With: Malik Ishtar, Jounouchi Katsuya, Yami no Bakura, Otogi Ryuuji, Kawai Shizuka, Honda Hiroto, Mutou Yuugi, Pegasus J. Crawford.
Rating of Favoriteness: Seventh favorite.

Rating of Favoriteness: 5th? I think.
Why You Hold That Opinion: I concur with Kits entirely, he's beyond adorable and the perfect uke. And likewise, I hate that he gets so little development - unlike Yami no Yuugi, not because he doesn't learn or grow, he's just held hostage throughout most of the series. Though I do love towards pretty much the end of the entire anime series when he's been released from hijack and is starving, haha. Apparently he's not very well taken care of *sympathy face*.
Favorite Characters to Pair With: That's actually hard, because he's just so ******** I'd probably let anyone and everyone have him. What I'd specifically want to see would vary from character to character, but as far as the "who" goes, it's anyone goes. Except for like, Grandpa and such, because I don't really want to picture him getting it on with anybody. I'd probably enjoy Jounouchi, Otogi, and Malik the most. Then maybe Pegasus and Yami no Bakura. While I whore Seto out like crazy (and just stated I'd be fine with almost anybody tapping this here fluffy), I don't think I'd be particularly interested in this. It'd be pretty, but I just can't think of a plot for those two that'd be to my tastes. Seto's a b*****d, but as I like my favorite character as the uke, so I can't really desirably place him in a rapist role.
Yay! I had more to say on pairing than on the actual character! Haha, it is sad that most of Ryou is developed by the fanbase - and it seems pretty accurate actually, I just wish you'd get to see more of it canon. I'd maybe even go on too, except I possibly just stumbled over an adoptshipping fic! I don't want to get my hopes up and assume a fic that is not only complete, but has some of my favorite features (noncon, M and tragedy/drama) will be good...but I am going to go lend my attention over to that now. Mostly so that I will stop talking about Seto on the Ryou thread ~_~.

He's just an appealing character. xD;;
He's sweet, quiet, sincere, and all of these traits (Plus the ones that I didn't mention. xD) make him a loveable character.
As KitsuneChan pointed out though, he had almost no development after his introduction into the series which is a shame, but at the same time it makes him seem a little mysterious. (Though development beats mysteriousness! >>)
Also, he's just so fluffy and adorable looking. =w=
Favorite pairings: Hadn't really thought about it. xD;
Rating: Hmmm, this is a little difficult... In my top 5, at least. ^-^;

Developed DOES beat mysterious, haha. And you can be developed while still remaining a bit of mystery - especially in relation to the rest of the cast.

@Kitsune Warrior: Yeah, I think the mysteriousness could still be there with character development... to me the point of mysteriousness is to make you curious about learning more of your character, but we hardly ever learn more on Bakura.

@Kits - the story was ok, more than I could have hoped for within reason, less than what I wanted. The plot was solid - the writing was a little weird though, not just grammatically taxing, just weird. The author blamed to much Shakespeare, but that SO was not the influence, so idk.
He was adorable...and how could I not make him a slut? ^_~

Ugh I'm currently reading a story (*cough*that may or may not be puppyshipping that I found of my own volition*cough*cough*) - well, a sequel to a story that WAS complete, but the sequel unfortunately isn't. It's "almost" done but hasn't been touched since 2008 (the author hasn't been on since the end of 2008 either), which means this will probably drive me up a wall. I wouldn't have read it but I didn't know there was a sequel until the first story ended horribly inconclusively. I am sad!
You know, Yami no Bakura is kinda uber ******** too...I mean sure he has his sadistic side, but I just don't think you can wear that face without having it scream "bang me" at the world - which is probably why Ryou gets no face time, how could YB ever trust him to not just go around and get gang raped all the time? razz

Which story is this? Or like... link me to the first one perhaps? I don't like when stories don't end either, but I don't think I avoid it as much as you do.
OMG, I couldn't stop laughing as I read that second paragraph, and it's so true! XD But I can totally see Yami no Bakura using his "******** me." face to trick someone into thinking he's innocent, then stabbing them as they ride him. XD

You may have already come across this as you've been into the pairing for awhile and this is old, thus far the sequel where I'm at (which isn't the end of what is written yet) leaves me more resolved than the end of the first part, so I guess that's good? ~_~ Anyhow: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2995507/1/ToleranceAnd yea, of course I see that, but YB would have a purpose to it - whereas poor hapless Ryou would not. I think 9 times outta 10 though YB would get to stabbing long before they'd get to any riding (but I could see him in the mood, with the right person, to play it out a bit on occasion ^_~).

True, true. XD However, I could also see Yami no Bakura drawing it out not for sexual pleasure but for... the more sadistic pleasures of letting your victim become enraptured in the moment, just on the verge of reaching climax, in ecstasy, and suddenly... *stab* Heehee.

You probably have, but ugh, the sequel apparently stops, and the author had only intended one chapter left anyhow. It hasn't been updated since summer 2008, so I don't know what to think. How does someone just stop a story ONE chapter before the end?!? After putting that much into it? JUST END IT!! Ugh I wouldn't even care if it sucked at this point, I just hate that it does that ~_~.
Yea, I can see it too, but I don't see him being into that all the time, like I said 1/10 maybe. That's still a relatively high number. I think he'd be a little picky about which victims he'd let get that close. He might be a whore, but he's still got class and standards ^_~.

It really does, so unless you like to torture yourself, or are sure you've read it before (or both), I dunno if I'd suggest reading it again. Despite my lack of faith, I did still subscribe to the story, so if it is ever updated again I'll let you know. But yea even Tolerance ends in a horrible place (the sequel is kind of mandatory I think), so just reading the one and not starting the other would be no better.
I started reading a new story, that is complete this time. It is kinda weird and I'm torn on whether or not it is out of character (the concept is kind of out of character, I'm trying to decide if it's within character for the setting/situation - ignoring the fact that resulting within this scenario is out of character in itself). Some of the info seems off though, but I can kind of ignore that.
Hmm, was that horribly vague? Haha...well, we'll see where it goes. In spite of all the weirdness I don't hate it (thus far).
