I am mildly obssesed with Tolkien I read through the triology in four days and the hobbit in two. I loved them and the movie nearly gave me an anurisum. I have decided to like the movies as sperate entities and not onsider them lord of the rings, because if I do then I will go crazy because Jackson left out the scaring of the shire!

They're pretty good..."The Hobbit" and the first book I didn't care much for, but the two books afterwords were amazing and Legolas has to be a favorite character of mine...
"That still only counts as ONE!!"
XD favorite line of all time.

Legolas is pretty cool. I used to read Tolkiens books a lot, especially "The Hobbit".

I need to reread the Trilogy sometime soon. I have The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in the awesome leather binding. My dad bought them for me years ago. I have The Silmarillion too, but I only read parts of it, it reminds me of reading the Bible.

lol, the silmarrillion is alright after you get past the boring part. it actually get's more interesting after a certain point. i wish i had any of those books, but my brother's the one who got the hobbit, the lord of the rings (all three books under one cover), and the unfinished tales given to him, and he bought the silmarrillion, and the children of Hurin. and i got none of them):

I totally agree! I decided not to consider the movies as LOTR either, they are sooooo frustrating! and it seems loike what they didn't leave out, they completely changed! Aaarg!!!
