It's the OST to the animated movie "Metropolis" (not the silent film). I don't even like anime, but when your opening song in the movie is this, you're doing something right.

Terara Drakon Honestly, I've heard [even played] a lot better. The song you referred to in the first post is sorta boring. I like it a lot better than all that helium-and-a-synthesizer Jpop bullshit most animes are filled with.
It gets kinda a Mario feel 2:15-2:35.
The Hedwig and the Angry Inch soundtrack is better tho'.

Terara Drakon Honestly, I've heard [even played] a lot better. The song you referred to in the first post is sorta boring. You play in a Big Band orchestra? The sound quality for that video is s**t, there are straight up about four instruments that aren't picked up correctly and are distorted.

I liked the Metropolis soundtrack. =( It's nice to watch an anime without J-Pop, J-Rock, or boring Western Rock backing it.

The sound quality for that video is s**t, there are straight up about four instruments that aren't picked up correctly and are distorted. I play in a Jazz Ensemble. We play Big Band music as well.

The silent film is better by default. If anything has a silent film by the same name, the silent film is instantly better. Also, nowhere else will you find a mad scientist whose name sounds like a venereal disease. Although dixieland makes everything better, so...

But you yourself have played better than that song. Just you? As if that could be accomplished? No, I meant I've played songs that are better than that, but not by myself. With the ensemble.
