Skarmy Ritorin Oh hi. Lets Pokebattle
HAHAHAHAAH--- Get the ******** out. Protip: Just because I have a pokemon sprite based off of one of my avatars, doesn't mean I value pokemon above all else. Try again, but without the fail. Also, there are way better games than Fail Fantasy. EDIT: Hey wait, you were that one guy who never replied to me about that Mario rant. Go figure. This pretty much means I've already won the argument, seeing as how you won't come back.
@skarmy: I heard FF13 got really bad reviews. Mixed reviews, at best... Mainly because it's linear, I believe.
You think in this day and age Square would learn to make their games unlinear. D;
All final fantasy numerical games are linear, that's the point. Square Enix makes a shitload of games and not all of them are linear. I don't know where you heard it got mixed reviews considering it isn't even out yet. Game informer managed to rate the Japanese copy a 9.25 The main problem was the character depth in the secondary characters Even if they're not all linear, it's too bad most are. And I'm getting sick of it. Let's not even get into how bad the replay value is... I mean, they don't even try to switch up the feel of it. They all end up feeling the same. To be honest, FF7 feels like all the other FF's that come before it. (well, save for the plot. It seems they actually tried with the plot that time)
Quote: I don't know where you heard it got mixed reviews considering it isn't even out yet. Quote: Game informer managed to rate the Japanese copy a 9.25 Answered your own question.
Anyway, point is, I'm afraid to play anything past FF7, considering my disappointment on the series. And to make matters worse, it seems the games have been getting bad ever since they annexed with Enix.
EDIT: Now that I've realized it, I liked more games produced by Square made back then, than I do like the games produced today by Square-Enix...

Ritorin xehanort777 Ritorin They all end up feeling the same. Yep, really awesome... Oh hi. Lets Pokebattle So you're saying that, for the first six games, the plot was good, the gameplay was good, and the setting was good?
If you answer yes, you're just as much as biased as you guys see me to be. Especially if you can't point out the obvious faults.
EDIT: In fact, I can alreeady name the many faults of the KH series...
I don't remember posting any of that... but since you asked, I particularly think the plot, gameplay, & settings of FF VII, VIII, & X are good. XIII looks promising; visually & musically appealing anyhow.

Well, it was implied... but even still I got an answer.
Anyway, I can only truly judge FF7 out of the 4 you mentioned. Only good thing about the game was the plot. Even then, it's starting to get dull... (on the second disk, in the snow area, currently exploiting the elixir glitch. Other than that, I've lost all motivation to play).
And the Materia system practically means that everyone is the same, and that there's no reason to use anyone beyond Tifa and Barret. [Unless you want to hear different lines] Even their limit break attacks are all almost the same in the fact that they all do obscene amounts of damage with the occasional side effect. The only exception to this rule would be Aerith, but it's too bad she dies on the first disk.
Also, being able to use only 3 characters was annoying. What was even more annoying was when some characters were forced on to your team. Sure, they level up by themselves, and are at an adequate level, but then again, do you have the proper equipment for them?

I see what you mean however, its obvious that most players are easier to please. Personally, I think the story and music are the most important elements. As long as I can get through the game's story without getting stuck on a boss I do not care otherwise. If they would have have been films instead of games, I would have been fine with that. Are you re-playing FF7?
