The Serpent's Pass is one of the few direct paths to the Earth Kingdom's massive capital, Ba Sing Se. It is very rocky and is covered in dangerous cliffs. Although called the Serpent's Pass, it is not as twisted as a serpent like most people assume. It is in fact, named after the gigantic serpent that guards it. The serpent attacks everything and everyone that trespasses into its territory, and few have ever survived an encounter with it.
This makes the Serpent's Pass one of the most feared locations in the Earth Kingdom. Although many refugees from the War pass this area, few have the courage to cross it, instead choosing the well-protected harbor at Full Moon Bay, as it provides undisturbed passage to Ba Sing Se via boat. To further warn refugees of the dangers at the Serpent's Pass, a large sign at the Pass entrance reads "Abandon hope", adding to the strong fear aimed at the location.

Zero decided to take a chance at this Serpent's Pass. He would of taken the harbor but there were complications. "Abandon Hope? Well ain't that just welcoming." His boat floated into the center of the two large mountains. "Here snakey snakey snakey. Here boy....or girl. Come to think of it, after 100 years one would think we'd know it was a boy or a girl dragon....lizard....seahorse thing. What is the serpent?" As Zero questioned the nature of the serpent, a dark circle appeared under his small boat. "And another thing-" The serpent attacked, wrecking the vessel and taking him deep into the ocean.
Time was short. Every moment it seemed like his last as he fought to return to the surface. The great sea dragon snapped its jaw, enclosing upon Zero. Time began to pass slower now. Can't die yet. Can't... His body glowed white, releasing a large burst of heat. "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" Zero forced himself out of the serpent, propelling through its mouth. Take this!" He exploded into a ball of fire, zipping out of the water as the serpent appeared behind him. From far off, it looked as if a dragon had come from out of the ocean.
"Now we do this my way." Zero quickly twisted in the air. With his fist ready, he fell, aiming himself at its head.
A swift strike sent the serpent slamming into the water, falling unto its back as its body sunk.
"Nothing like a little exercise." Zero began swimming towards Ba Sing Se.
