Octava Fraccion Noah Marlin
A home it was, Noah decided, watching his feet dangle over the edge, seeming to believe that if they stopped moving, the distance between them and the sand below would close. It wasn't really boredom, but a habit when he became too deep in thought to restrict such things from happening. His feet walked their own path now, free of his mind, eternally treading the air in order to simply keep from standing still.
He was important now...
That singular thougt, and all of its trimmings, ran through his mind; looping, repeating, and making themselves more and more permanent with each pass. It was rather hard to believe, that in a single day one could go between being "nobody" to being a personal gaurd to the highest in their field.
It wasn't an honor so much, not after he had thought hard on the subject. No, Noah decided, it was a test. He was given a new responsibility, and if he failed, there would be no way to live as he did now. Simple and carefree was perfectly alright, until they made him get up and shake the whole system again.
Then, even with his self evaluation in order, Noah had to wonder: Who was he serving now? For a soldier such as him, there hadn't been much chance to meet and greet the Espada, but there were plenty stories around about the various things they did.
With a deep sigh, Noah made his feet surrender their quest, and he fell backward, hitting the familiar stone and enjoying its support for just a few more moments as the sky above offered its thoughts on the matter, though as with most days, the sun simply stated that it was going to shine, and that this Arrancar's problems were far beyond it.
It didn't matter, though. He was important now.
