This is my first time posting an rp, so, you know...

So, here's the story:

The setting is modern day somewhere in South Dakota. The world is mostly inhabited by the humans, but the humans know little about the other major inhabitants (besides insects and regular animals, of course), the weres and the shapeshifters. They know more about weres because of myths and stories passed down through the generations. Shapeshifters, however, are much more recent, as they were created by scientists.
American Scientists found a way to modify the genetic makeup of both humans and animals to give them an animal and human form, respectively, but when some of the scientists wanted to sell the shapeshifters as soldiers and slaves, the rebelling scientists came to an agreement with the shifters. They told them that they would release them if they kept themselves a secret from the humans. The shifters agreed, and were released.
This didn't keep the weres from finding out, however. They despised the shapeshifters because weres were the 'natural' shapeshifters, and shifters were created in a lab.
Now, years after the release, some shifters live on the hope that they will one day find the labratory with documents that will give them a way to make themselves normal again, weather it is full human or full animal. These usually don't want trouble with the weres.
Others strive to make life easier for shifters. They repel attacks from weres, and try to find a way to one day live in harmony with people if they were to know about them.
The weres usually want nothing more than to destroy shifters. They claimed that it was mostly because shifters were unnatural, but some are just jealous. The thing is, stories that humans made up were only partially correct. Weres were believed to shift only on a night of a full moon, but in fact they were restricted to shifting at night, reguardless of the moon. Shifters, on the other hand, had no such restrictions. They could shift any time they wanted.
And normal animals usually pick sides, either because they knew one type first, or because a member of either type convinced them to help.
Both weres and shifters have an average lifespan of 150 years, but I want to have shapeshifters as the third generation, between the ages of 18 and 28, but second generations will be accepted. Please, no first generations, because the sexual maturity age for shifters is 50+.

Appearance: Sorana's human form is tall and slender, with long red hair. She often wears dark jackets that are smothered in perfumes and colognes to keep her scent masked. Her fox form looks like that of any red fox; reddish-brown fur, black tipped ears and black paws, white chin and underbelly, and the famous white-tipped tail.
Bio: Sorana is popular among shapeshifters, partially because she bares the name of the Goddess of Nature (as declared by all animals since the beginning of time), and partially because she dedicates her life to helping shapeshifters. She goes to pet stores, animal shelters, and rescue groups searching for shapeshifters that were kept and unable to shift due to the fact that they were closely monitored most of the time, like the normal animals. She adopts them and gives them two options: "You can leave if you like, go back to someone if you have someone you can go back to...or you can stay with us. We'll provide shelter, protection, and you can join us on hunts to get food." She holds a job at a local supermarket as a cashier.

Appearance: His human form is average in height with fair skin and blonde hair. He loves to go around shirtless, but Sorana makes him wear a shirt when they go out. His dog form is that of an average yellow lab.
Bio: He was found as a stray dog by Sorana, and she took him in. He is puppy-ish by nature, often getting into trouble. He is oblivious to anything about labratories and war with weres, and Sorana doesn't plan to tell him until she feels the time is right. He also holds a job at the local supermarket with Sorana.

Bio: He is the leader of a group that wants to wipe out shifters. Other than that, he is a mystery. The shifters know nothing of him.

Sorana drove down the highway, all too aware of Jack staring at her.
"What is it?" asked Sorana, getting annoyed by Jack's gaze.
He shook his head, as if to shake out a bug from his hair. "Where are we going, Sorana?" he asked.
Sorana sighed. "We're going home."
Jack's eyes got wide. "But why? We didn't find any shapeshifters today! You're just going to give up?"
"Jack, you don't understand. Winter is a slow time for those shelters. They usually don't find our kind in the winter, and you thank the heavens that they don't," She put on her blinker to take the exit that would lead them to the house where Sorana and Jack lived.

Jack continued to ride in silence, his eyes directed out the window. His ears would have perked up if he was in his dog form as he saw a shadow ducking behind the cover of a wooden fence. "SORANA! STOP THE CAR!"
Sorana slammed on the brakes, almost getting rear-ended by a car behind her, which blared it's horn. "What is it?"
"I think I saw something over there," said Jack, pointing in the direction of the fence.
Sorana got a look of doubt on her face, but then nodded her head and got out with jack to investigate.

Ember walked through town, which was unusual for him. He usually kept to himself in his shabby home on the outskirts of town, but this was a special event. On the news, he had seen reports on several murders...murders that looked like the work of an animal rather than a human.

Ooh, this ought to be good thought Ember, hoping that this was another young were that he could use to his advantage. Young weres, reguardless of their species, were powerful. Sometimes too powerful to control.

So now, on this day, he tracked the scent from the scene of a more recent murder, hoping to find the cause. The trail smelled like that of a fox, which made Ember growl silently to himself, yet he continued on. He could not let his instinctual dislike of foxes deter him from building up his forces.

The trail was strong now, and he knew he was close, and he was now following a trail of overturned trash cans.

Yup, he thought, definently a fox.

Jack led Sorana in the direction he saw the shadow, turned the corner of the fence and found...nothing.

Sorana gave Jack an annoyed gaze. "Jack, are you sure you saw something?"

Jack nodded his head vigorously. He looked down, hoping to find paw prints in the snow, but due to the unusually warm weather, the snow had almost completely melted.

Behind the fence, and certainly out of view of any humans, Sorana shifted into her fox form, hoping to find a scent, and Jack followed suit, shifting into his dog form. They both sniffed the ground, hoping to pick up the scent of a shapeshifter.

as he walked to the abadoned building that he called home he went through the broken doorway and decided the best thing to do would be to sleep. finding a dry place on the floor dante lied down trying to get some sleep

Ember followed the scent until he came to a run-down old building. Most of the windows were either broken or missing altogether, and the sign on the front was missing letters, so it read "Prne orraton."

The killer had to be in this building. Now, he didn't care if it was a were or a shifter. If it was a were, he may have a new ally. If it was a shifter, he would have lunch.

He stuck his head inside the doorway that was missing the door and yelled inside. "Hello? Anybody here? I'm not gonna hurt you!"

Sorana and Jack found the scent, but it didn't go in a distinct direction, so they shifted back into their human forms and went back to the car. Jack couldn't help but think that there was someone watching them as they walked away.

hearing the voive dante gets up and quietly begins 2 walk up the old flight of stairs trying 2 get away

Ember hears the fleeing footsteps and follows, barking in a reassuring way, trying to get the inhabitant of the building to come back to him.

hearin the intruder he ran 2 a window and climb out it, looking down he sees the drop and falls out.
hitting the floor dante gets up dazed and runs down the nearest alley way

A'den looked up at the midnight sky sighed and started to think gah damn city i cant see a single star out tonight he decided to give up on trying to see the stars and decided to walk along the sidewalk"hmmm its pretty deserted out here" A'den heard a sound like someone dropping a bag of sand off a roof and decides to investigate. He ran down an alley way and saw a figure comming towards him" what the hell...?"

after entering the city matt started looking for a place to crash for the night when there was a noise the next block over but he decided to ignore it thinking that it was a dog or maybe a cat

while running dante saw a man walk infront of him, ignoring dante pushed the man down and ran through the street

A'den was pushed to the ground and shouted " HEY WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING!?!" he realized the man wasnt going to stop so he looked around and saw nobody could see him then he shifted into a crow. He decided he would follow this man from above where he couldnt be detected.

looking back and not seeing anyone dante slows down but keeps walking through the street

A'den see's the man slow down and decides to hop from streetlamp to streetlamp watching, studying the man. He takes note that no one else is around accept for them...that he can see. A'den morphs his eardrums to pick up even the faintest whisper from over a mile away and hears someone or something coming from the same direction as the man did. He decides that stealth is his best option right now and waits.
