Before the beginning of the world, there was nothing. Before the human race, there were gods. Divine beings who dictated the changing of the weather, seasons, elements, and other important resources. As they grew bored with the vast nothingness, they created miniatures of themselves: human beings.

Humans were amusing creatures and very prone to warlike qualities. One goddess in particular noticed this aspect in the humans. She visited Earth and arrived in the middle of the war.
Death. Bloodshed. Destruction.
Was what she saw.

Curious about the human blood spilled all over the place, she bent down to cup some into her hand. Thereon, she drank the strange red liquid. A burning fire ran down her throat and straight into her stomach. A desire for the copper-tasting liquid ached deep within her being. The taste of human blood burned away her divine purity and twisted her into something ugly on the inside. Mouth stained with blood, she progressed to drinking more and more. Until she began eating human flesh.

The gods begged and pleaded with their sibling to come to herself, to stop her madness. But it was too late. The goddess was already hungry for human destruction. Soon, she became the force that caused humans to war, and she was the force that ended the wars. Her thirst was never sated, leading her to make more and more and more war. Finally, the gods had enough of watching. They seized her and sealed her in the dark core of the earth. Then, peace settled down and normal human conflict proceeded.

Making sure none of this would happen again, the gods lingered upon the humans and involved themselves in their everyday affairs: marriage, love, beauty, chastity, the hunt, feasting, wisdom, and much more. Even from her deep, dark pit, the bloodthirsty goddess of destruction watched. Waited.
As time passed, she attained many minions in various different forms. The goddess told her minions to scour the earth for someone, anyone, who was different.

Time passed in centuries and millenniums. Still, no human was found who perked her interest. The goddess grew frustrated, and her insatiable thirst grew ever greater. Finally, after countless years of searching, someone was found.
A girl. She was an ordinary Japanese girl who grew up in a normal environment surrounded by a normal family and normal friends. But the goddess sensed the potential for more underneath her normal exterior. Her minions scoured the girl, scrutinizing her power. Deciding she was the one, they returned to their mistress and reported.
Delighted, the goddess summoned her pent-up frustrations, cast a curse on the gods' seal, and freed herself into the world once more.

First thing's first: she took the gods' power for her own and weakened them, strengthening herself. Her impurity greatly weakened them, and her darkness grew in numbers. The goddess, bodiless, returned to the place on Earth where her minions said the girl lived. She moved from body to body in that cursed city, marveling the changes humans had gone through in her absence. She made them kill and drank their blood to feed herself. It wasn't enough. The human bodies weren't stable and couldn't contain her divine spirit. In the end, each body she inhabited died. On her hundredth body, the goddess found the girl and entered her in her sleep. There, she took the girl's mind and body for her own.

Days passed and the goddess found that her human shell could hold her. Slowly, she took the girl's life for her own as she planned and planned and planned.

Planned for the ultimate destruction of the human race.

User ImageRen Ishimaru ; 17
Ren moved to the district only a few short weeks ago. He knew no one and frankly no one knew him. He was all but an enigma to everyone around him. All he really did was sit in the corner seat he was assigned, do the work and talk when called upon. At lunches he would sit alone and when the bell rang signaling the end of school, Ren was the first one gone. He was only ever seen conversing with the teachers about school work. People whispered about him. Rumors started. Apparently when asked out by girls, because let's face it, the boy was a looker, he turned them down with nothing but a shake of his head and walking away. The same happens when he is asked to perhaps hang out after school with either guys or girls. They do not get a word spoken to them.

About his family. Yes he has parents but no siblings. They have seen his parents. He is the exact replica of his father but with influences in his face and slender limbs from his mother. Both were exceptionally...normal. Happy and approachable people. So what happened to their son?!

User ImageSayomi Mori ; 16
Things were different in the past. Sayomi was a happy girl who looked forward to living life in its fullest. She loved her friends and family with all of her heart. She especially loved children. Because of this, her desire was to become a kindergarten teacher.
This was before things changed. Forever.

At the end of June, Sayomi had the worst night of her life. Her head was filled with images of blood, bodies, and battlefields. War and destruction. Death and torn flesh. A bloody face that leered with red-stained teeth. The nightmares were so vivid that they felt real. In the middle of the night, she woke up screaming. For weeks afterward, Sayomi was bedridden with bodily pain that consisted of constant headaches, cramps, stomach pains, and even, what the family doctor believed to be, hallucinations. After a month, Sayomi stopped being bedridden and was able to walk again. Having been frightened before, her family was absolutely relieved.
However, this was only the beginning.

As Sayomi began to go about her daily life once more, things began to happen. Sayomi began to hear voices, see flashes of images, black-out completely and wake up somewhere else. Sometimes with blood all over herself. Deathly scared, Sayomi confided in her sister, who told their parents. They had her go see a psychiatrist. Eventually, the problems died off. Sayomi came out new and better than ever. At least, that's what she led her family to believe.
She was still having those very same problems everyone thought she was "cured" of. She learned that telling her family would only make them worried about her. Keeping it to herself, the problems only grew worse.

Summer came and went and the weather cooled, changing into autumn. By this time, Sayomi had entered her first year in senior high school, which she had been so anxious about less than two months before. Sayomi had developed strange tastes in darker music, clothing, and company. She began hanging out with the wrong sorts of people, which greatly worried her family and friends. At school, she wore her uniform the wrong way; often she blew off the teacher when called upon.

Her black-outs grew worse. About this same time, the murder rate in Tokyo had grown exponentially. Why? A night prowler was killing random people on the street and stripping of them of their flesh and leaving their veins dry. The case frightened many citizens and led them to believe it was some sort of mythological creature like a vampire.

Meanwhile, Sayomi's condition was constantly growing worse. She wasn't herself anymore. Everyone now noticed it. On her own, she always had strong fits that ended in extreme pain. Sometimes Sayomi was in-between sleep and wakefulness. Her body was no longer hers, but someone else's

Unbeknowst to her, an ancient goddess had possessed her being. The goddess was of destruction, bloodshed, and war. She thirsted for power, flesh, and blood, and she would stop at nothing to sate her undying hunger.
The goddess, who called herself Enyo, took the girl's body a little at a time. Once she ensnared enough power, Enyo planned to delete Sayomi Mori.
Permanently.

He right away noticed the sudden changes in Sayomi's character. Also, he found himself attracted to Hikari and was sympathetic for her, leading himself to asking her out.
