Nayely walked into her training grounds with Noriko. She then sat on a rock and opened her bag that contained a few scrolls. She placed the scrolls to the side and tightened her anbu armor. "Okay Nori...whats it going to be?" She asked.

"I want to do both," Nori declared, watching her mother prepare for the training session. She shifted slightly, looking from the scrolls to the woman before her. "I want to learn everything I can." I want to make you proud.

"So you want to learn them all huh?" She said with a smile. "Well then...read this scroll, it will tell you the basics about hand signs and chakra molding." She said as she grabbed the scroll and tossed it to Noriko.

"Hai!" Nor caught the scroll and plopped down on the ground, unrolling it and leaning over the paper to read. She poured over each word -- each lesson -- eagerly, soaking up all the information she could. Concepts and theories swirled around her head as her eyes moved down each column, committing them to memory. It was all so fascinating! After a while, she rolled the scroll back up and returned her attention to her mother. "Done!"

"Okay..now for the fire scroll." She took out the basic fire scroll and tossed it to Noriko. "Study the hand formations, if you are able to start something on the basic level, then you will know if that is your element...once you know, then i shall teach you." She said with a smile.

Nori nodded and opened the scroll, reading the contents of the first jutsu to herself. "Katon: Ichi (Fire Release: One) The basic building block of a great many techniques down the line, this is presumably the very same skill that began the study of Katons. Molding their chakra through a simple seal of any choice, the user is able to focus it onto the tip of their index finger in the form of heat. With this, they can cut through things such as glass and rope with some difficulty. However, at this stage, control of one’s chakra is so minimal that this technique can only be used by one finger and essentially has no combat use." She cocked her head. "Sounds cool." Setting the scroll aside she moved her hands into the tiger seal and closed her eyes, focusing on the chakra-molding lessons of the previous scroll. [1/2]

The girl's eyebrows drew together as she concentrated on everything fiery -- candles, heat, that evil stove of evil, the cozy fireplace, torches -- and pressed her chakra to take on such properties. She pressed her lips into a thin line, pulling that chakra up into the tip of her right index finger. C'mon. C'mon. Work! Suddenly, she yelped and broke her hands apart, whipping her right hand several times before sticking her finger in her mouth, her chakra faded away. Whimpering faintly, she sucked on the throbbing digit for a moment before mumbling around her finger, "Dat was hod!" [2/2]

Nayely walked up to Noriko, which blue chakra was already molded into her hands and gently grabbed her finger and healed the burn. "I guess fire is your element." She said with a laugh.

Nori cringed a little but held otherwise still, allowing her mother to treat her fingers with the soft healing chakra. She watched, entranced, as the glow wiped away any traces of the chakra burn, a faint smile winning over the grimace. Her mother certainly did not seem too upset, and had Nayley not said that her own element was fire? "Like you?" she tentatively asked, smiling up at the woman.

"Well yeah, even though i have many more sweety." She said with a smile. "Okay then, it looks like Basic Fire jutsu will be it for now...since Fire jutsu takes up a good amount of chakra, you will have to eat in order to gain some energy back for you to continue." She said as she took out a fire scroll. "Would you like to continue or take a break after your...burning experience." She said trying to find a word.

Noriko mused over the offer, chewing on her lower lip a little as she mentally poked at her chakra reserves in an attempt to judge their capacity. After a time, she lifted her head and focused on Nayley. "I think I can try one more," she said. "Besides, it wasn't all that bad. You fixed it, after all. It doesn't hurt anymore!" She beamed up at her mother happily, wiggling the finger in question.

"Okay then, learn another jutsu that you know will be helpful....after that, you will be placed into a squad so that the Rain Village can rebuild." She said with a smile.

Nayely looked up into the sky. "Sorry Noriko, but i have to go, i need to attend to the Gennin...but i will leave you with a clone." She made a hand sign and made a clone. "Once your done, follow the clone's instructions okay?" She then transformed into a dragon and few out of the training grounds.

Nori nodded in understanding, somewhat distracted with reading the next jutsu on the scroll. Katon: Shoumeidan no Jutsu (Fire Release: Flare Technique). By molding chakra into ones lungs properly, they are able to exhale a short burst of heat and flame which basically explodes from the mouth. The fire itself actually only lasts for about a second. But its effect is that it illuminates dark places, if only for but a few seconds. So, she had to mold chakra into her lungs this time instead of her fingers? That sounded somewhat difficult -- and a little painful should she get it wrong. Swallowing, she set the scroll aside and began moving her hands through the seals. She went slowly at first; fire was dangerous and should not be rushed, after all. When she was confident that the hand seals were stable, she moved through them, focused her chakra, and exhaled . . . . to come up with nothing. [1/2]

The girl blinked several times. What? Why did it not work? What had she done wrong? She tried again, focusing her chakra into her lungs as the scroll had instructed. This time, Nori was rewarded with a bit of heat but still no flames. Why were there no flames? Frowning, she moved her hands again through the sequence, closing her eyes and swirling her chakra in her chest as she breathed in. Fire. Heat. Flames. Breathe! She exhaled sharply, heart skipping a beat when crimson flames licked past her lips. Success! [2/2]

Nori winced a little, touching her lips. That had burned slightly as well. She glanced at the clone before gathering up the scroll and starting back toward her home, hoping to find her mother there.
