Was almost surprised that there was no thread for this. Then again, it was pretty overshadowed by the release of Pokemon and the upcoming release of the 3DS.
Has anyone else had the chance to pick it up yet? So far, I much prefer the company of Kuchi rather than Issun, along with other companions you get throughout. The game definitely has a more childish feel to it, but what do you expect, playing as the son of Amaterasu? I definitely love being able to draw on the touch screen, as opposed to with the PS2 controller or even the wiimote. My power slashes are far more accurate, but I hate how ink pots don't automatically refill.
Either way, I'm pretty pleased with it so far, even going so far as to abandon Pokemon Black for it. At times it does sort of feel as if they tried to stick too close to the previous game as to not piss off too many Okami fans, so it almost feels a little stale.

Deathgod of Legend Why did they add "den" to Okami? neutral I think it's a play on words. It means "Chronicles," and it also refers to a wolf den.

♥♥♥♥♥♥~~ So I guess I should pick it up, then? Seeing as I've been console-y challenged and have played very, very little of the Wii version?

If you haven't played Okami, I wouldn't get Okamiden.

It takes place in the same areas, and references the first game constantly.
You could play it by itself, and it would still be one of the best DS games I've played, but when you play it you can tell it was made with fans of the original Okami in mind.

I played the downloadble trial level and it was cool. I was unable to beat the demons at the end though. Is the trick to winning that you have to draw the symbols in red correctly?
PS I do wish I had preordered it when it came out so I could get the cool paintbrush stylus that Gamestop was offering.
