I got an email from a friend who is also studying Chinese, but is not able to see characters on thier computer so he wrote in pinyin....without tone marks... sweatdrop I was able to understand all of his email except the last line "mei ge dongxi." Does anyone know what this means? Without characters or tonal marks, I'm completly lost. xp

No I think 'mei ge dong xi' is 'every thing'. 'mei' as in.. 每

Niphredil Ithilmir No I think 'mei ge dong xi' is 'every thing'. 'mei' as in.. 每 Dong Xi Is Thing. Mei Is No whatever. BTW Mei You Not ''yo'' ffs, We're both on the same lines, you were just nice enough to say what you think she meant.

没个东西 doesn't make much grammatical sense, whereas 每个东西 does. I guess she's a beginner in Chinese. Although I have to admit, my Chinese is pretty poor after not having studied at all for nearly two years. xd Maybe that's why I'm taking Chinese up at Uni again.
