Unlike the lite, it's gonna take some serious damage to break the hinges. The screen seems kind of vulnerable, though.

yeah, onyl thing you can do to keep the screen nice is a combo of protectors and soft tip stylie

I don't know if it was ever true, but they used to say Nintendo tested the Game Boy's durability by throwing them off of the top of their buildings and then going to see if they worked. I like to think they still do that.

I doubt they do, and to think of someone throwing a 3DS off of a building breaks my heart.
Game Boys were BAMFs, though. Surviving explosions and junk

The screen seems like the DSi, kinda plasma-y and pretty capable of breaking for NO RAISIN.
But I like it for a DS. I haven't gotten the "sweet spot" during my hour or so of testing at Best Buy. But even without the 3D on the graphics are nice. And I don't even know about all the extras, I haven't paid the 3DS much attention.

The 3DS is a hardened ********. It's not going to break unless someone does something really dumb, has a horrible accident, or deliberately breaks it. Nintendo knows how to make their hardware durable.

Well I was had, But I know that there have been reports of 3ds overheating terribly. Probably because of lengthy play and hot swapping the cartridges (in other words people can swap games without shutting off the hand held.

Mine gets warm sometimes, but I'm willing to bet people are just overreacting about that.
