http://www.gamespot.com/news/6306945.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;5I despise hackers . . . . UPDATE: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6307284.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=newstop&tag=newstop;title;12Quote: "Anonymous is not attacking the PSN at this time," the update reads. "Sony's official position is that the PSN is undergoing maintenance. We realize that targeting the PSN is not a good idea. We have therefore temporarily suspended our action, until a method is found that will not severely impact Sony customers." "Anonymous is on your side, standing up for your rights," the message continues. "We are not aiming to attack customers of Sony. This attack is aimed solely at Sony, and we will try our best to not affect the gamers, as this would defeat the purpose of our actions. If we did inconvenience users, please know that this was not our goal." The group went on to note that its campaign against Sony will continue "until we are satisfied with the outcome."

Hackers, Al Qaeda, what's the difference? They're always trying to make themselves sound like some freedom fighters fighting for the good of the people, meanwhile all they're doing is making things worse for the actual people.
But honestly, what are they gonna accomplish? I mean, okay, so they hack Sony's servers. Things might be bad for a couple of days, then Sony's team is just gonna put everything back in working order. Hell, that reported "Maintenance," might actually be Sony trying to back its stuff up or reinforce its security.

I think it is more to it then that. When I first heard about this the first thing that came to mind was competing. I feel that this group is getting payed to do this. Gaming has become very competitive, and a industry like Sony has a lot of rivals. Their biggest gaming rival is Microsoft and they have done a lot of things so far to try to out do Sony. I think this is way for them to say that the 360 is safer, or something like that.

When you look at it, Sony has a lot to offer, not just there PS3. They have tvs, laptops, and soon to have their own cell phone; so why would so called freedom fighters be so focused on their PS3 systems. I mean what is their to hate or be upset about them, The PS3 is the best thing out there, it does way more then the 360 for starters and it isn't treated like a freaking phone or something. I know apps to make getting to what you want faster but come one when your whole system revolves around them then that is lame. Micro soft has always saw the PS3 as a threat and these rumors mostly started to surface once the PS3 was really starting to give them a run for their money. The 360 is one only gaming consul out there that will try to market a game that is on multiple consuls as if it is only on the 360. Just like they where also behind the rumors that the PS3 was going to have to pay to play online. It will all come to the surface sooner or later.

I'll be honest I used to really love the Xbox 360 console but it just went down hill over the years. It feels like Microsoft is alienating the competition like how Sega did back then with used the Nintendon't slogan and find that childish. That and I feel that they are making the console into a commercial sell out.

well they said the'y'll stop the psn attacks now. but I never really noticed anything that was done lol.
And they aren't fighting for anything some people want on the PS3, they just want retribution. And threatening people over not being able to have something from a game or a certain game? Thats just pathetic on their part xD
