The door of the room is a both tall and wide with a very hard and beautifully patterned snakewood over the thick oakwood base. There is an interesting eighth note shape hanging off of the snakewood and upon further investigation you realize it's a real snake! It doesn't seem to approve of you waking it from its nap and uncurls in a menacing way to hiss at you before curling back up into an eighth note shape.

You finally go to open the door, pushing against the layers of wood that lay over the already thick and heavy oakwood. The door rather hard to push open for the every day first year student and it takes a moment but eventually the door pushes open and you can't help but wonder why someone would need such a thick door. Perhaps it is to cover the sound of screams? Well, it would make sense. The room is the music room but it doesn't make it any more reassuring.

You may have gone on a wild trip with the school and had an unfortunate series of events but the classroom remained the same as it had before. It is a rather large room with rich chocolate brown walls and high concave ceilings with long crimson curtains hanging down from the top of them. If you are curious enough to go open the curtains you will not find a single window behind any of them which really doesn't help reassure your earlier thought. The floors below your feet creek as you step down on them in certain spots and when you look down you realize the floors across the entire classroom are all a dark mahogany wood. There are a few lines of chairs on the floor but otherwise the lower level of the classroom looks rather empty.

At the back of the room there is platform area and overlooking balcony that sits about fifteen feet off the ground floor with a set of stairs with mahogany railings going up both sides and long crimson curtains hanging all along the back wall. Just in front of and below the platform there is a small stage nested between the stairs with more crimson curtains hanging down over it from the railings above. As your eyes follow the railings back, you'll find that at the top of the balcony seems to the professor's area which has actually has furniture currently out unlike the rest of the classroom. There is a plush red couch overlooking the room just in front of the railing above the stage with a desk pressing behind that. Sitting on top of the desk, in one piece and with his hair untied hanging over the edges, is Professor Blue. The last he had been seen was as a Captain going down with his ship but he seemed to be fine, in fact, he seemed to be smiling. Just what happened after The Lady in Red fell to the bottom of the ocean?

At the back of the room the music stand is there, and it's smiling at you. It's welcoming you back. Will Professor Blue make you fight with it again? It doesn't seem so, the music stand is empty with nothing to sign on top of it. It certainly seems hungry though, and the closer to walk toward it the more it seems to be... salivating. It seems best to not get close to it, but Professor Blue certainly won't stop you. He doesn't seem the type to allow excuses though so you better have your instrument that you signed out with you though and you better pray to Jack that you didn't damage it.

(( Before class begins, find out how well you took care of your instrument by rolling 2 6-sided dice. The first dice determines if you damaged it or not and the second dice determines how much you damaged it. If the first dice is even then you damaged it, if it is odd then you didn't. Damage is based on a 1-6 scale with 6 being the worst and 1 being the best. Please roll upon entering class (unless you are Israfel or Christof with Vocals) as well as linking to your homework from last class. After everyone has come to class, or a time limit passes, then Professor Blue will begin today's lesson. ))

Malodore had missed the first music class; its schedule had been a trifle too busy at the time. Now, however, the plague doctor jumped at the chance to enroll. It had its list of preferences in hand. Hopefully, it would be assigned something that would complement its skills. It was awfully hard to play a woodwind instrument with claws...

The plague doctor gave the music stand a long look, then sidled past it.

Professor Blue seen the foreign student come into his classroom, giving it a strange look. Perhaps this was someone looking to join his class? Maybe they were just a messenger? They did have a piece of paper in its hand it seemed. Well, it could be a love letter from Red. That thought was enough to get the demon off his a** and down to greet Malodore with at least a pleasant face. Oh, he hoped his dream wouldn't be crushed.

"What do you have there?" He inquired.

"Ah -" Malodore hadn't even seen the Professor, and suddenly the demon was rightthere. It controlled the urge to flinch away rather admirably, it thought. "I was told to bring...?" it offered, holding out the piece of paper.

The professor accepted the piece of paper from the student, giving it a thorough look over. It wasn't a love letter from Red, and that received a rather unhappy look from the professor. Was he displeased with the sheet? It could be speculated that he was. He had forgotten that there were three spots still available in his class and that there might be new students coming in. The list looked in order, and after looking from Malodore to the sheet to Malodore again, Professor Blue had decided.

"Excuse me," he pardoned himself, stepping over to his closet, nearly disappearing inside for a moment. He came out with an instrument, having seemingly accepted the new student to his class. He didn't waste time walking back over to it, and holding out a box to the student. It was dark, and locked closed with simple snap locks. Inside the case, were a set of bells.

"These are your bells, we will be going over how to use each instrument in this class so you're right on time. I hope these appease your taste because until you can play them to my satification I will not allow you to change to another. This, of course, goes for all the students. They've already heard this though. Welcome to the class -- feel free to look around, the class should start arriving shortly."

"Oh, I advise not going near the music stand over there though. I wouldn't want you to damage it when it tries to eat your hand."

And then as if he was not even there, the professor disappeared back to his area.

Barth could barely manage things that measured a half pound. Lugging thirty pounds of tuba around was...awful. The case, meant to add ease in carrying the thing, only added weight.

He had done his homework, although he'd be loathe to admit it.

The instrument had also been taken care of (see: mostly ignored) and was in the same condition he'd checked it out in. As if to rub salt in the wound, he was nearly the first to arrive in class.

Between the lugging, the fulfilled homework, and the properly-treated instrument, he felt like a failure to his avarice. Not because the things had gotten done. He usually got them done, one way or another. But because he had done them himself. He'd never felt more tired and ashamed. Dragging the case in with one last, foot-scrabbling, wheezing heave, he collapsed on top of it. He was sweating. Sweating. He made little half-sobbing noises into the tuba case.

Aksaja had also missed the first Music class, but it had looked pretty interesting. He'd just been . . . busy at the time. Yea, busy. Probably sleeping in, he didn't really remember.

Oh well, he was here now, and he'd even brought the list that was apparently required. The thing had been crumpled up and folded several times, possibly tossed in the trash at least once (by accident!!) and finally marked all over with a bright red marker. Some things were circled, most were crossed out. There were question marks beside the names of things that were a complete mystery to him . . . and then large YES's in capital letters beside others. The lightning dragon had definitely taken his, er, time in preparing this list.

Blue had barely had time to settle in when the sloth demon made his way into the classroom with his tuba. He didn't look very happy, but this sure proved to please the professor. Of course, right behind him another student, one Professor Blue wasn't familiar with, came into view. He too was holding a piece of paper and this peeked the demon's interest once again. This one had to be the love letter from Red! Without a second breath the demon professor bound toward Aksaja.

"Hand it over," he instructed. If it wasn't even for him, it was now.

Aksaja blinked at the professor but held out the piece of paper toward him, head tilting a little bit. Was he that excited about these instruments or whatever?

But then again, it was his class, so maybe he was. Still, though.

Ah - bells? "Grazie," Malodore said, opening up the case and plucking the bells out, giving them an experimental jingle. It half-expected to feel a brief frisson of JOY from the things, like the bells on the first field trip had provided.

They were satisfactory, even if they weren't stringed instruments. At least, it wouldn't damage the bells by scratching them or something... or snap off a claw in a badly-designed windpipe.

Once again Professor Blue had been disappointed when he realized he was looking at an instrument preference sheet, admittedly a very worn and messy one. Why was Red's love letter so late? He would just have to go visit her later then, but for now he unfortunately had to deal with this student. For a moment, he just stared at Aksaja, fantasizing about the student. Oh, that sounded lovely. He'd have to take him for a nice walk to the gym one of the days.

It seemed Professor Blue had nearly forgotten that this person was expecting to sign up for his class, and after a moment he looked back at the piece of paper. Professor Blue seen right away that this was a very picky person, and he'd have fun breaking him like the poor sloth demon in the corner.

"Pardon me," he said as he excused himself, holding the sheet in his hand as he walked over to the closet. He disappeared inside, and what seemed like a minute passed before the teacher even came back out. He had a case in his hands and he walked back over to Aksaja and handed it to him.

"It's a Piccolo, and it says yes. Enjoy."

He didn't even bother to tell this student that later they could opt out and change their instrument. After all, from the look of his preference sheet, there wasn't much that would satisfy the student and that just didn't please Professor Blue. He would not allow his student to be what the humans defined as a rock star.

Aksaja stared at the tiny instrument in his hands for a long moment or two, then looked back up at the Professor. He knew that he remembered putting "no" beside that one . . . or at least crossing it out. Jackdammit. "Are you serious?" he asked. "I'm supposed to play this tiny thing? It's not cool at ALL!"

Maybe he should have just stayed in his room today. He'd wanted to beat on some drums! Or at least play a guitar. Though he honestly had no clue HOW to play the guitar, it was still a better instrument than a freaking PICCOLO!

"I am quite serious," the demon said grimly. "If you want to be cool, I'm more than willing throw you into the pool when Professor Red isn't watching. Otherwise, deal with it." It's not like Aksaja followed Professor's Blue directions when filling out the sheet. It was clearly made to be numbered with preferences 1-30 and it was more like 1-3. Seemed perfectly dandy that Professor Blue would ignore the rather large no beside piccolo.

"Class will start soon, go put this sheet over on that music stand over there," he suggested, handing the preference sheet back to Aksaja.

(( Please roll 2-6 sided dice. If the first die is even then the music stand successfully bites your hand. If it is odd then the music stand snaps at you and manages to miss. The second die determines how hard the music stand bites you, if successful. ))
