Just because something is becoming popular, that doesn't make it less of whatever it is. Geeky is still geeky, whether two people are doing it or two thousand. What you're talking about, dude, is venturing into nerd territory. Unless you're trying to use the oldest etymological definition of the word "geek." But that has another definition as well that's somewhat less appealing. xp
But my point is that video games are still geeky, regardless of how popular they've become. Same for computers actually, despite their modern usage. Computers invented the modern geekdom, so playing with their descendants seems appropriate to me for geek day. Cell phone cases, however, are more about form than function, so I think that's not quite geeky. xd
