ARENA

The Oreg Oil Refinery has been condemned for many years, due to hazardous conditions. Over time, the refinery's structures have become unstable. Moss, vines, and other plantlife have grown, attempting to take back what was once theirs. This place will be the battleground for two great shinobi.

                                                                  "Whoa!"

Shaky hands shot out, grabbing the rails on each side of the young man's body. His foot had broken through the floor, and in his surprise, he had to catch himself so the rest of his leg didn't follow. Hesitating in his shocked pose, Geiho Juuji looked down, watching the floor panel fall all the way, only to disappear into the depths of fog below. After a moment passed, he released the breath he had been holding in. "This place is so damn rickety. Why'n the hell would someone send me a letter of challenge here?" The ninja could only grunt as he pulled his foot out of the hole, and cautiously continued on his way through the Oreg Oil Refinery.

Geiho had come to this place after receiving a mysterious letter, the contents of which told him to come prepared for a fight. The shinobi was fully willing to do battle, but at a place like this? He wasn't a fan of heights, but luckily, he had his chakra-controlling ability up to speed. A fall from this height might mean certain death. Good thing the taijutsuist came prepared. He crossed over the swaying catwalks, ready to jump or run at any second if the structure seemed like it might give way. He made it to the connecting strut, sighing with relief as he released his tight grip on the bars. His knuckles had turned a blood-drained white, and the color had seeped from his face. "Tch, c'mon Geiho! Man up! This is no time to be chickening out! Game face, man! Game face!" Geiho slapped his cheeks, leaning his back against the steel bars of the strut.

While he had time to rest, Geiho looked over the connecting catwalks, struts, and pipelines that overlapped each other. This place had once been a place where busy workers rushed back and forth in order to do their daily duties, but that all changed when Old Man Oreg found a methane leak below the rig. If any matches had been lit, the whole place might've gone up. So, they cleared it out, and condemned it. Geiho heard the story from several old gentlemen back in the Rain village, but he never thought he'd be seeing the place himself. Vines had grown up the side of the strut Geiho stood on, and he took a minute to appreciate the tiny weed's attempts at coiling around such a massive structure. Who knew how long it would take for the tiny weed to win?

A letter, which the shinobi had gotten back in Kumo, had directed him to come to this odd structure known as the Oreg Oil Refinery. Who had sent the letter, the man never found out, but whoever had chose a weird place for this showdown to happen. The shinobi did not know whether this battle was for some tournament or for something else but it did not matter to him, a battle was a battle in his eyes. There was only ever one victor and one loser.
There the shinobi stood within a cloaked clothing. Beneath his clothing a basic ANBU attire. As his milky eyes scanned the so called arena he began to comprehend an uneasy feel. It was clear how unstable these structures were and he knew. Not more than a second earlier one of his three wolves almost fell to the depths below. It would've been a sad way to die but not something the shinobi would have mourned for it would only be one of many deaths he has witness, including his own.
The left hand of the shinobi rose up to his hooded face. It was shielded by a rather odd, spiked gauntlet. The powers of this gauntlet were unknown to those but the Hyuuga himself. Beneath the gauntlet he wore a glove, similar to the one upon the opposite hand. These gloves were something which the Taijutsuist used to his liking when needed. Within his left hand was held a silver lighter. It was then that the right hand brought a cigarette to his mouth. With a small, quick motion he opened the lighter but the motion was halted. The faint smell of methane from the ground was clear. It wouldn't have been a wise choice to light the cigarette. Though the scent was small it was still only for his best interests, he didn't want to end the fight so early.
He tilted his head towards the sky and looked at the sky above him. It was a truly filthy place. When he drew in air he did it through his nose, picking up the scent of another person with the area. "Ready boys?" he said lowly to his wolves. "Ready," they replied in unison.
The shinobi and his wolves began to leap from catwalk to catwalk, occasionally landing on a pipe here and there. They were careful to keep their footing so they did not plummet to their deaths. After less than a minute the four came face to face with the other shinobi. They stood a good ten yards away from the man. "So how are we going to do this?" a low voice came from the hooded man. He flicked the cigarette out of his hand and let it fly. "Mano y Mano? Or shall I include these wolves as well?" It was only fair to ask for a fair fight, even if it was to even the odds of the opposing man.

A moment's rest put Geiho at a disadvantage. He didn't notice their presence until a voice spoke up, and he suddenly forgot his fear of heights. A new threat had arrived, or should I say, four new threats. A cloaked man, most likely the one who had sent the letter, stood on one of the many catwalks while his canine companions stood on different platforms, all circling him, in a sense. How the four legged creatures were able to keep their footing in this rickety place was a wonder. The cloaked man offered two ways for the fight to procede, and although it might've been smart for Geiho to choose the previous, his attitude drove him to desire the latter. "I couldn't care less if you include them or not." Geiho let go of the strut's wire bars and gripped his fists tightly, causing his knuckles to pop. He took the iron arms stance, carefully inching his way towards his opponent. He led with his right foot, unable to do the usual wide stance due to the catwalk's narrow passageway. "-But if they fall, you won't see any sympathy from me."

The taijutsuist knew he was already at a disadvantage due to the terrain.
Everything here was highly collapsable, and he was facing four enemies to boot. If the dogs were included, he would have to figure out how to either take them out early, or separate them from the master. Both plans seemed impossible right off the get-go. Geiho was gonna have to play this one by air. Something urged him forward, and the shinobi found himself lunging through the air, aiming a sudden snap-kick at his opponent's chest.
It was a break in style, but that was something Geiho specialized in. Mixing it up would be the only way he could keep this fight fresh and appealing to both combatants.

"Ohohoho. Don't be so cocky now. Let's not include the little doggies until later," the man said with a wink. He watched at the shinobi before him inched toward him. 'Another Taijutsuist, huh?' It was not very hard to tell what the combatant preferred in battle. Right off the bat the man took on a stance and offered close quarter combat. This was not so much of a great thing to do on his part. The shinobi had relatively no idea he was facing off against a man who's heritage derived itself from a clan and bloodline both focused upon close quarter combat. As the shinobi continued to draw closer the man took on a side-ways stances to lessen the amount of body showing, though this left him only his left arm and leg to defend and attack, it would have to do for then.
The snap kick thrown was fast compared to most on the other shinobi's level but was easily traceable. It was a straight forward move which confused the man. Why would he throw such a simple attack was something the man did not know. Even if he did not know why he proceeded to block it, or more, deflect it. The kick, which was originally aimed for the defending shinobi's torso, was shifted to his left with a quick motion of his left hand, a simple forearm block. Blocking the kick was the gauntlet. As it touched the attacking shinobi's limb it would send a small jolt throughout it which caused it to go numb for a short time(1 post).
The shinobi did not stop with a simple block. He proceeded to counterattack. Using the same momentum created by his defending left hand he lifted his right leg up and began to pivot on his left foot. A swift, roundhouse would be thrown at the shinobi, which would now have to defend, rather than attack.

Geiho felt the small jolt of numbness go through his leg, and like always, he decided to ignore it. As his snap kick was moved to the side, Geiho slammed the foot back down, causing the catwalk to rumble from the force of the stomp. Thankfully, the structure held up, but Geiho wasn't finished, and so it appeared, neither was his opponent. Geiho pivoted his body against the rusted railing as he landed, turning to meet his opponent's roundhouse kick. It was a quick move, and the taijutsuist could only smirk as he watched his opponent counter so easily. Bringing up both arms, Geiho blocked the jarring roundhouse kick with his forearms. It was a strong, solid kick, and Geiho felt like he might've been able to properly block it if the stage was different. This stage, however, was highly collapsable. The powerful kick threatened to flip him over the railing and down towards a horrible death below. Instead of that horrible demise befalling him, Geiho acted quickly, pivoting his back against the railing and coiling his right arm around his opponent's kicking leg. "Feel free to call on the dogs at any time." Of course Geiho was cocky, it had been his nature from the beginning. Why should he change?

The taijutsuist threw his left hand out to the side, rearing back, then letting a palm strike fly right towards his opponent's midsection. He was aiming for a shocker, just like the combatant he was fighting had done moments before. Geiho knew how to bring someone down, but a fighter of this calibur would take more effort. Whether or not the strike had worked, Geiho would then try to throw his opponent by the leg to the other end of the catwalk.

This was quite an exciting battle for the man. Most opponents chose to strike with Ninjutsu or Genjutsu but not his opponent and this made for a much more fun scenario instead of dodging technique after technique.
The shinobi was not so surprised that his kick did not break any bones or send his opponent soaring over the edge. Besides his natural strength, which was strong in its own, the kick had no true power behind. None residing from a true style that was.
What surprised him was the fact that his kick was then transferred into a grab. He could of easily broken from the simple grab but decided to play it cool and allow his opponent's assault to continue. When he saw his opponent's hand flying forward for a palm strike to the torso he figured he'd step it up a notch.
All the muscles within his body began to flex as he did not move. When the hand collided with his abdomen it would feel like nothing. To his opponent it would feel as if he had struck a metallic surface. This was a technique from Cloud's native style Rokushiki - Six Powers. The technique was known by the name of Tekkai.
The shinobi did nothing more than smile as his opponent began to attempt to throw him over the edge. He followed along with the movement, willingly sending himself over the edge. As soon as his opponent let go of him he utilized another technique known to the Rokushiki style. This technique was know as Geppou - Moon Step.
Using Geppou he concentrated chakra into his foot. This allowed him to kick off the air as if it were a solid object. The shinobi soared over his opponent's head. As he did he performed a front-flip and attempted to come down upon the man with an axe kick.

                                                                  "Wh-wha?"

Geiho grimaced as he felt the attack land. Was this guy made of metal?
Was he simply not putting enough power into his attack? The shinobi was displeased that his attack had not successfully done the damage intended, but the fight wasn't over yet. As he aimed to throw the opponent over the catwalk and to a lower platform, his combatant suddenly kicked off of the air. This guy was just full of surprises, wasn't he?! The taijutsuist had little time to react, but just as before, he threw his back against the adjascent bar, bringing both hands up to block the axe kick with his forearms.

                                                                  "Nice form!"

The martial artist was thoroughly impressed that his opponent was able to not only match his speed, but surpass it at many points. The moments when his opponent seemed to slow down or hesitate were not moments of weakness, but rather of reflection. Was he observing Geiho's style and patterns of attack, or was he merely noting the taijutsuist's brash nature?
Either way, the Jounin was giving his opponent full attention. Anything less would be considered a death warrant. "How bout this?"

Geiho pushed off of the axe kick, jumping backwards himself in order to create distance. He guessed that his opponent would simply land where he had just been standing, so the martial artist decided now would be the time to change styles. It was proven that Iron Arms would not be advantageous in this battle. Relaxing his muscles and breathing out slowly, Geiho methodically gestured towards his opponent with both open hands, palms nearly pointed skyward. His fingers were not more than a centimeter apart, and he led with his left hand as he stood a little straighter than before, but still kept his knees somewhat bent. A low center of gravity was key to not letting your opponent move you, but in the back of his mind, Geiho kept the state of the brittle catwalk known.

"Before we continue, I'll offer my name, challenger. Geiho Juuji, Iron Arms of the Rain." He waited to see if his opponent would comply with his offer to exchange names. If not, the battle would continue just the same.

A laughter of joy erupted from the mouth of the shinobi as his kick was stopped by his opponent. Though it was a basic kick the power and speed put behind it was something most other ninja would have trouble with but not his opponent. This pleased him and allowed him to known that it would be unlike most other fights which involved the formation of handseals.
It was, to his surprise, that his opponent had not only stopped his kick in its tracks but also repelled it and used that split second opening to gain a spacious gap between the two. In order to counteract this sudden force from his opponent he allowed it to simply continue, causing the force to rotate his body in such a way he performed a back-flip. Upon landing a loud creak could be heard. It had clearly came from the unstable catwalk which the shinobi paid no mind to for now. If anything he had his ways of escaping a fatal fall.
When he stood up from his landing he took note that his opponent had taken on a new stance. "So you do no more than just one style," he spoke to him with a chuckle. It was then that the opponent had offered up his name. In return; the shinobi would offer his as well.
"I, Geiho Juuji, go by the name of Velox V. Sokuryoku; Kumo's Blue Fang," as he spoke he pulled down his hood to reveal his face to his opponent. With that he decided to take upon a new form himself. It was a rather famous style and if the stance itself did not give away his current style than his suddenly defined eyes and bulging veins about them would clearly give away the style known as none other than Juuken Ryu: Gentle Fist Style.
The shinobi took on a side-ways stance once more but slightly different than before. Instead of his hands being held in fists they were wide opened, ready for striking with the palm of the hand. His knees were slightly bent but not much. "I hope you are ready for this, Geiho Juuji."
The shinobi lurched forward and suddenly shot towards his target with great speed. Nothing to give him an added boost(besides the fact his clan granted him a speed boost). Once he got a foot away from Geiho he leaned in as if to strike the man with a palm strike to the chest. At the last second he jumped up and flipped over Geiho. As he had leaped into the air the action was so fast he left behind an afterimage which was so great it resembled a Kage Bunshin. And the, as soon as the shinobi landed behind his opponent, he spun around and shot his palm forward, into the back of his opponent, with the intent to kill by utilizing the ability of the Juuken Ryu to collapse tenketsu and also rupture organs.
This action, however, would be near impossible for Geiho to comprehend. It was the highest level of a Kumogakure taijutsu style, Ansatsusha no Mai, developed to confuse up to the three tomo Sharingan. No normal eyes would be able to track his movements.

He recognized the style, and whispered the clan's name aloud, his eyes narrowing as his opponent, Velox, took the all-too familiar stance. Nevertheless, Geiho kept relaxed with his stance, allowing his breath to regulate normally. This is where it would get serious, simply because there was no second chances when fighting a Hyuuga. When warned that he should be ready, Geiho offered a slight nod, followed by a face that would show his determination. His opponent was advancing...

                                                                  "Asking Hand."

Geiho's left hand shot forward to grind his wrist against the attacking Velox's own attacking wrist. The point of this was to first knock aside the attack, then go in for the counterstrike, to which Geiho threw his open right hand in a chop to Velox's neck. Geiho then leaned forward as his chop travelled through the afterimage, and he threw his head forward, changing his stance to a handstand. Opening his legs wide, Velox's palm travelled dangerously close to Geiho's genetalia, but flew right past it, only because Geiho standing on his arms made him shorter than usual, which saved his junk by only a few centimeters at the most. Then, Geiho enacted his true counterattack. The taijutsuist's legs suddenly closed, wrapping around Velox's arm, very similar to before. The difference with this move was, Geiho was not going to let up. Pulling himself up with his legs and abdomen, he straightened his posture, then aimed a right hook right at Velox's left cheek, then would knock away any attempt at blocking with his right hand. Not easing up, Geiho would try to pummel Velox as much as possible before any counterattack could be returned.

How did this happen? Geiho had first tried to take Velox's afterimage (without realizing it was one). The first hint that Velox had been using a ploy was not Geiho's hand travelling through the afterimage (although that did affirm it), but was the brush of wind Geiho felt a moment before that gave him away. Without realizing it, Velox's speed had worked against him. He had sped past the blond with the intent of hitting him from behind, but the assault had been thrwarted due to one simple element: Wind.

{{I'm pretty sure Geiho pulled himself up so he is now standing, right? Forgive me if I am wrong.}}
The shinobi was almost sure his attack would have landed but he was utterly wrong. His opponent surprisingly moved just fast enough to avoid a fatal blow, and further more, trap his attacking arm. This truly irked the attacking, and now defending, shinobi. Though as much as it angered him it also enlightened him that his opponent was no push over.
The male tossed out an uppercut with his free hand to strike Geiho in the abdomen as he currently rested within an upside down position. To his surprise his counterattack had missed for his opponent had never stopped moving. Just as soon as he had thrown his low uppercut his opponent was on his feet and had his fist slammed into the left side of his face. Saliva and a bit of blood spurted from his mouth as his head wrenched to the right from the blow. If it wasn't for his Byakugan he wouldn't have been able to notice anything else coming his way.
After the hit had collided the shinobi leaped back, careful to avoid anything else. His hand reached up and wiped the blood away from the corner of his mouth as the veins upon his face began to disappear. He wasn't going to bother using the Juuken Ryu. Not at this current time anyways. The man took on a stance similar to a basic Karate stance. It was time he'd unleash another style upon Geiho, in hopes this one would hold up more than any other due to it's sheer speed. "Shuurai Tekken Do..." the shinobi uttered. "Way of the Lightning Strike Fist..." With this style the man hoped to make sure that it would be impossible for his opponent to land another strike on him.

(Your reply was perfectly fine. I mean, Geiho had his leg wrapped around your arm like a boa constrictor, but I'm sure it would of ended the same way. S'all good, flash. mrgreen )

"Hah, the first hit! Yes!" Geiho clenched his fist, throwing it forward in a taunting jeer. Dropping the taunt, the young man suddenly adjusted his form, just as the shinobi opponent formed into another stance. He barely caught the name of the style, but he recognized the Karate stance instantly. "Hrm... You sure you wanna do that? Feh, fine." Just as before, Geiho held his hands forward in the Asking Hand Wing Chun stance. The taijutsuist did wonder about Velox's style. It seemed to be just regular Karate, but would he try and mix it with another variable? Geiho's grin disappeared as he straightened out his mindset. It was about to get very serious again. "Come."

Right as Geiho said that, to the right, a large smokestack began to creak, and something broke at the base, causing the large cylinder to tip towards the catwalk the two fighters were standing on. It stopped, if just for a moment, then the base collapsed completely, sending the large structure leaning towards the fighters. The object was about the size of a small building, but once it hit the catwalk, the whole platform would definitely not be able to stay intact. With the smokestack nearly upon them, Geiho grimaced, backing up slowly while still in stance, then turned to flee. He wasn't about to be killed in such a way. He would have to find another way to double back around and fight his opponent, Velox, after the obstruction hit. Running back to the connecting strut, Geiho turned to watch the smokestack bear down upon the catwalk...

(Sorry, was trying to add some destruction to the fight. lol)
