Beyond More Than Just Humans.
Over the years, humanity has slowly dwindled. Following the Maverick War, the 'Elf-Wars', reduced the standing Reploids to 10%, and the Humans to a surviving 40%.
Fortunately, the numbers were able to return to their original state, even before the Maverick War.
Reploids
Reploids can be thought of as the next evolutionary step of the robots from the classic series. For all intents and purposes, Reploids are the same as humans on a mental level; they think and feel, giving them the ability to make their own decisions and develop unique personalities.
Reploids are humanoids, and may appear either male or female. They usually have a human face (and sometimes, hair), as well as bulging armor around the forelimbs and upper body. However, many are built to actually resemble robotic animals with humanoid traits. These particular Reploids tend to be designed for very specific tasks; for example, a heavy duty Reploid may be large and bulky, whereas a marine Reploid may be based on a fish. There is no limit to the tasks Reploids can perform with the right design. While most tend to remain in their armor (The animalistic ones always tend to do), it is not unheard of for Reploids to wear human clothing.
Mechaniloids
Mechaniloids are robots that have below-average AI and a more mechanical shape than a humanoid shape. Mechaniloids also have the ability to go Maverick.
Mechaniloids seem to be customizable to do just about anything, from construction to excavation. It is believed that the "standard procedure" is for a small army of assistant Mechaniloids, all specialized in a certain field, are typically sent with a single specialized Reploid for whatever job is needed at the time.

Mavericks and Maverick Hunters.
Mavericks
Maverick is a term given to Reploids and Mechaniloids that are a threat to humans, which can be caused by errors, viruses, reprogramming, or even by their own free will upon deciding that humans are too weak to live (or some variation of this thought). They are usually countered by application of superior firepower to a fatal degree, and the Maverick Hunters were formed to enact this.
The image above is the emblem recently chosen by Mavericks themselves to go with.
Maverick Hunters
The Maverick Hunters are an organization founded by Dr. Cain, dedicated to protecting the world at large from Maverick attacks.
With less Mavericks than before, they have gone from being a special task force to deal with only them, many have become Peace Keepers of the city as well.
Within the Maverick Hunters is a set group of rankings to determine not just how powerful a Hunter is, but also to determine how efficient they are. Rank is positioned in an Alphabetical system, all starting at F, and the highest being an S. The Ranking system, by lowest to highest, is: F, E, D, C, B, A, S.

Profiles
Username: Zahzi. Name: Hal Connors. Gender: Male. Appearance: Hal. Age: 47. Profession: Scientist. Rank: Lead Scientist for the Maverick Hunters. Bio: Originally just a technician with a small family, Hal's world went in a 180 when a Maverick Attack resulted in the death of his daughter, Kelly. He became a recluse, creating a replica of her piece by piece in the form of a Reploid. Only days before she was completed did Maverick Hunters notice and acknowledged his work. It was not the design of the new Reploid that caught their attention. Hal had found a way to integrate schematic of a long-dead robot series into this new machine, creating a replica of the original Robot Master, Metal Man. Not only was he asked to join their group, the Reploid was given the seat of a Maverick Hunter them-self. Extra/Skills: Hal's Analytical skills, and dedication to precision and detail have lead him to be the lead scientist of the Maverick Hunters, seeing to it that any new Reploids are more than prepared to survive. Theme:
Username: Zahzi. Name: Tango. Gender: Male. Appearance: Tango. Profession: None. Rank: N/A. Bio: More of an enigma than the Mavericks of New Fairway themselves, Tango goes with his own volition and follows neither the Mavericks, nor the Hunters. No confrontations have been created by him, and he has yet to wage an attack on Reploids or Humans. The Maverick Hunter HQ does not care for these facts though, as Tango's actions have hampered their work in areas he moved around in.
All reports triangulate his current location in an abandoned repair factory. Extra/Abilities: Information on Tango is sketchy at best. Those who go after him are never able to contact HQ after finding him. They either don't survive, or by the time help arrives, their memory has been wiped. Even his very appearance is a mystery.
Any and all reports suggest Tango carries a Scrambler/Stasis system, which affects radar and comms, as well as the very function of machines. This is not all he is capable of, as victims have been found either shot down by a powerful rifle, blade wounds, or beaten down. Theme: In the Shadows.
Username: Zahzi. Name: Bull Dozer. Gender: Male. Appearance: Dozer. Profession: Maverick Hunter. Rank: Hunter Class B. Bio: Dozer's gigantic make and build make him the perfect candidate for either the door-knocker in a raid, or the ram for getting through bleak and dire situations. With countless victories over Mavericks under his belt, may often wonder why he is still ranked at 'B'. ...Then they take a look at all the damage he causes, and his usual lack of completely following orders, and it becomes as clear as day... Nevertheless, Dozer is commonly seen as a Hunter worth respecting, and nearly all other Hunters rarely have a problem with the 'Sentient Death-Charge'. Extra/Abilities: Dozer has been known to act as a sort of 'big-brother' for newbie hunters, as well as those above even his own rank.
Dozer's abilities lie in pure power and durability. Capable of toppling a building in many cases, the only ranged weapon he carries is a small howitzer cannon for lazing fortified targets. Theme: Omega.
Username: Zahzi. Name: Icarus. Gender: Male. Appearance: Icarus Profession: Maverick Hunter. Rank: Commander. MH Rank: A. Bio: Icarus was created around the same time as New Fairway was still just being built, giving him the blueprints, and specs of the entire city.
Before becoming Commander of the Hunters, Icarus was a basic Maverick Hunter who always chose to remain in the skies, and deliver his blows high above his targets.
The name 'Icarus' itself was meant to be a warning to all Mavericks, especially ones capable of flight. 'They would be cut down for their arrogance.'. Extra/Abilities: Along with the ability of flight, Icarus carries in his frame one of the most advanced AtA missile-systems created to date, as well as multiple AtG armaments, giving him an edge against Air and Ground forces. As the Commander of the Maverick Hunters, he is the one Hunters receive their orders from. Theme: Barrel Roll.
Username: Randomly Gone Insane Name: Edge Gender: Female Appearance: Reploid/Work; Human/Casual Profession: Maverick Hunter Rank: A Bio: After losing his daughter to death and tragedy, the Maverick Hunters' leading scientist recreated his lost daughter in the form of a reploid. Edge would come to be as the daughter copy reploid, who brought on a state of peace in mind to the scientist, for better or for worse. While in appearance she was created like his dead daughter, her combat skills were to copy that of a long lost Maverick, known in records as Metal Man. The scientist had long envied the older reploids and their abilities. Unfortunately, the originals were lost in time and destruction, taking the actual reploids out of existence, and for many, their schematics. Metal Man was one of the few schematics recovered, and was used when creating Edge's combat system.
Growing as the (second) daughter to the Maverick's Hunters leading man, Edge learned that she needed to be a strong, tough, honorable, and hard-working being amongst the others and in the world. There was little room for error in her eyes for the world of Maverick Hunters, and she rigorously worked to achieve her own set standards of the Hunters and worked to meet them. Through this, she's learned to let her actions speak more than words, as she came to find words had little meaning to rouge and troublesome reploids. And seeing how the job of a Hunter is to protect and, literally, save the lives of others, Edge took on a serious persona. Her dead serious attitude tends to make it harder for others to get along with her, as her lack of conversation skills and humor make her become irritated and annoyed with co-hunters very easily. Abilities: Very athletic and agile, Edge has been remarked as one of the quickest Hunters. Her speed goes along well with her ability to jump to great heights, getting her out of common sight and giving her a stealthy advantage during missions. For weaponry, Edge has a supply of buzz saws, of various sizes, tucked away within her arms. Each buzz saw is thrown with precise and deadly accuracy, and sharpened down finely to ensure damage and penetration into the enemy. Extras: Though she comes off unattached, emotionless, and sometimes down right cold, Edge is very attached with two people. The first is the lead scientist, who she views as her father, as she was "raised" like a daughter to him. The second is her "brother", Metal Man. Though long lost, she still highly reveres the reploid, despite never meeting him. She has taken on a personal quest to find Metal Man, should he be alive, or what is left of him in the world.
It has been noted that Edge's eyes can and will change color in reflection to her anger. While normally a dark shade of green, her eyes will fade into red depending on her level of anger. The more pissed she is, the bright color of red her eyes. Theme: Agent Tex
Username: Randomly Gone Insane Name: Gingerbread Man / Ginger Gender: Male Appearance: Ginger Profession: Nuisance to Society Rank: N/A Bio: Information about Ginger's past remains an absolute mystery to both Mavericks and Hunters. No one claims him as their creation, robot sibling, nothing. And Ginger, despite how much he loves to chat, isn't spilling secrets about himself any time soon. Ginger just showed up one day, and it's been Hell where ever he's gone since then.
When he first appeared, Ginger was just a nameless Maverick, as he kept personal information to himself. Then, one day, he started to chant a rhyme from a old story ("Run, run, run! As fast you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!") as he out ran Hunters who failed to catch him yet again. The Hunters then started identify him as Gingerbread Man, or Ginger for short, to which he happily responded and adopted to be his name.
From can be gathered of Ginger, the most sure thing is that he holds no true alliance with anybody but himself. He makes havoc for humans, Hunters, and even other Mavericks (although it has been noted he rarely pesters the other Mavericks, and only does so through revenge or simply wanting them out of his own way). He has been seen, on a few occasions, working with other Mavericks during their missions, although it's unclear if he worked to achieve the same goal as the others or was hired to distract the Hunters so the mission could be completed. Abilities: Incredibly fast and agile, better than renowned Edge. Catching Ginger has been deemed impossible by the Hunters, but a few (like Edge) still attempt. For those who can stand a chance of getting close, Ginger has been noted to have an EMP trick up his sleeve in the form of grenades. During chase, he'll roll them out behind himself to greet his pursuers and grant him more time to escape cleanly. During combat, Ginger himself rarely enters it. While he has a Scrambling system of his own, to mess with the heads of any pursuers, Ginger sends out his pets to deal with any problems he has. The pets come with their own toys, ranging from stun guns, poisons (for humans of course), cameras which feed directly to Ginger, and just about anything Ginger may need. The pets appear to limitless, suggesting Ginger spends his free time creating them. They're built to be as fast and agile as he is, also making them a hard catch. The only downside to them is they're roughly as thick as a human arm, which can make penetrating into buildings a bit more difficult. Their size is made up with strength though, as they've been observed to hold hostages with either their entire body coiled around, or held between the three clamps. Extras: Edge and Ginger have a hate-love relationship going on. While Ginger absolutely adores her, and gets no end in enjoyment, entrainment, and pleasure from Edge, she has been noted to almost immediately go into blind rage by his presence. Whether it's her angry reaction, or just some sick twisted liking to her, Ginger will purposely go out of his way to pester Edge personally when they cross paths. Theme: I Hate My Job
Username: cptflint Name: Steam Gender: Male Appearance: Reploid/infeild Human/Casual Profession: Maverick hunter Rank: B Bio: Steam was not built for direct combat, instead he was designed to serve a few sinister purposes. In actual combat he has multiple toles that allow him to very effectively disrupt the enemy in a number of ways, usually by using flashes and emp devices to disrupt sensors at close range then using stealth systems to run away, or by drawing enemies into ambushes after pissing them off. In short he specializes in pissing off his enemies, rather then hurting them. His abilities when by himself also make him an excellent scout, spy, and saboteur. Extra/Abilities: Very quick and athletic. Can run at a sprint almost forever. He's equipped with flash, emp, and smoke bombs as well as close range casters that can do the same things, a heated sword, chameleon stealth systems, short burst jump pack . His armor is made of a more sophisticated version of the same materials stealth craft are made out of. As long as he's not using radio or any of his abilities there isn't a sensor known that can pick him up. Unfortunately this makes him very easy to hurt. The armor provides little in the way of actual protection. The chameleon stealth systems draw too much on his power source to keep it active for very long, let alone use any of his other abilities while it's active. Using his camo abilities DO make him detectable via electronic based and radar sensors but not infrared.

Username: cptflint Name: Hale (Haley) Gender: female Appearance: Haley Profession: Maverick Rank: used to be B rank Bio: Hale is a maverick virus based off of the sigma virus. Rather then rewriting it's host, Hale simply puts the active personality into a dormant state, causing a schizophrenic state in strong willed individuals. Acording to the records Hale's current host, Haley, was connected to the Internet and either wasn't paying close enough attention or hadn't updated her firewalls and other protective programs recently and was invaded. She stormed out of the hunter base in a flurry of snow and ice cold enough to cause considerable damage on the way out. It's been almost a year since the Hale incident. Before Haley became a hunter she was part of weather control.
Extra: Steam was one of Haley's closest friends and was particularly upset when she became infected.
Abilities: Haley is equipped with different temperature control tools, mainly ones that cause extreme cold. She can manipulate ice and surrounding temperatures in a countless number of ways.

It was early morning in New Fairway. While most humans were still fast asleep, the Reploids were already moving. Whether constructing, shop-keeping, or basic maintenance, nothing was quite as active at this time as the Maverick Hunter HQ.
Already, they were hard at work, hundreds of Maverick Hunters were either waiting on-call, or on assignment throughout the city.
In the R&D wing of the HQ, human was, for quite while now, working off of a computer. The glow from the computer was apparent on the man's face as he continued his work. After awhile, he gave a tired groan and leaned back in his chair and rubbing his eyes. "There....After twelve hours, the new Reploids won't think Mavericks are cannibals.....Propaganda is already bad enough......."

Edge gave an annoyed sigh to her father's response. The man would find any excuse he had to work, despite any arguments she might present. She couldn't get too angry about it though. She inherited that same stubborn behavior from him, and as frustrating as she may have been at times, it helped get her where she was today.
"I think the other veterans and I can handle keeping the new Hunters in line and have their fears reasonable, father." She pressed, her tone getting a bit more gentle now. "You don't need to worry about it. As long as Dozer isn't in charge of keeping them calm, we're fine." She gave an annoyed sigh at the other Hunter's name. The loudmouthed, cocky, idiot was only bested by Ginger on her list of hatred (or as Hal like to put it, the 's**t list').
As Hal started to share about Edge's schedule, she looked down at him with narrowed eyes. "Odd... Why haven't I gotten my schedule yet?" She questioned with a light growl, as she had a bad feeling who was working with today..
