![User Image](https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff187/ZazzitheGrim/gladiators.gif) Gladiators. The ones who live to fight. The ones who sacrifice all else to survive.
In the land of Odai, a single Coliseum was created as a form of entertainment. Originally, it was an execution ring for criminals, where they would be fed to the beasts.
Nowadays, that practice continues, but is seldom done in excess as the public has found another use.
Slaves. Prisoners. And even willing people are all capable of being converted to Gladiators- A group of individuals who must only follow one simple rule: Fight to live. Live to Fight.
![User Image](https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff187/ZazzitheGrim/Gladiator.jpg)
Gladiators are not only prone to fighting creatures of the land, but each other. Usually, to make the fights more interesting, more than two are present. Only two Gladiators of immense skill are honored with a duel.
Outside of the duels, teams of separate Gladiators are formed by wealthy citizens, whom have made their own barracks on their property.
This, is a story of one such team, and their master.
This, is the story of the Orkai Gladiators, and their master, Divinious Orkai.

Rules
As a common gesture, I will lay down some ground rules. . .And I do have the power to add more. . .
• One word: Spellcheck.
• Deaths of Gladiators is common, but let the person know if you're going to shove the blade down their throat for once. . .

Gladiators
•Username: Zahzi
•Name: Krom. (No family records. No last name.)
•Age: 27.
•Gender: Male.
•Equipment: Most of his equipment is made out of A material which Odai's military uses to make their equipment out of. The closest thing that it could be called is a solid-dark blue material, like that of sapphire. The armor on itself consists of Pauldrons, gauntlets, boots, greaves, and a cuirass. The armor itself is actually very lightweight, making mobility a great asset. As with the militants, he wears a cloak over the armor. Although, unlike the militants, his is tattered and covered in blood.
His right hand is covered in a heavy and thick gauntlet which gives him the ability to 'catch' swords, but hinders his ability to use the hand for anything other than that and punching.
The actual weapon Krom uses is a blade known as Oath of Servitude. Many were made for the Odai Militants, but only Krom's was given this name...
•History: Krom spent twenty years in the military. In the Odai tradition, all males were to be soldiers, and other things second. While others took their training before going off to start their lives, he stayed. He was a veteran of five wars when he was finally done fighting.
One night, he came across a grisly sight. A family was being assaulted by a group of people. Weapons were present, and the parents were brutally murdered in front of the daughter, and in front of Krom. Seeing this sent him into a blind fury, causing him to attack the group. In the end, twenty people were killed in the same brutal fashion as the parents. While the people saw him as somewhat of a hero, a figure in the Odai government wanted to make an example of him. The reason: Three of the people in the group were his sons. Many were sent to kill Krom on sight, but none succeeded. Eventually, he was captured and placed in the Coliseum to be fed to the beasts, armed with nothing but his fists. They alone were enough to survive. The man in charge of the Coliseum saw great promise in Krom's survival past such a trivial matter, and forced him into being a Gladiator. In fact, Krom was the first Gladiator in the Orkai barracks.
•Miscellaneous: Krom is usually keeps to himself, only speaking when he deems it necessary.

•Name: Atella Nimic (Nimic meaning Nothing; Daughter of None)
•Age: 25
•Gender: Female
•Equipment: Atella struggled to fit into regular soldier and gladiator armor, and moving was an impossible task. Her only options left was refined leather, thick enough it can absorb a good amount of any blow, the rare chance of stopping the blades even. However, she couldn't be completely dressed in leather from head to toe. Too many people were excited to see the first female gladiator and in order to feed the public, parts of her body were left exposed, making these openings dangerous areas for Atella, if one can get past her monstrous sized blades. Her blades are one in a kind. While they may look incredibly heavy Atella actually finds them very light weight and extremely comfortable to handle. They were passed down to her from her previous master, originally just used in a display case. No one knows what material the blades are made of but it's light weight and extremely power, making the blades like any other sword, only on a larger scale. A single wire connects the blades, one that is nearly impossible to cut through as it is also made from the same type of metal as the blades. It's about twelve to thirteen feet long and it's believed it's original purpose was to be tied onto the belt of the warrior using them, that way if they were ever disarmed they could pull on the wire and retrieve their swords. Atella uses it in other ways, making trip wires and traps, or evening using it to restrain the enemy moments before killing them.
•History: From what little Atella could remember of her childhood, her father was a drunk and a gambler. He began his drinking habits when his wife, Atella's mother, died shortly after giving birth to their daughter. Though Atella's father never harmed her, he never really cared for her either. It's thought he only really kept her around as a bitter reminder of her mother, seeing how she had a striking resemblance to her. When she was sixteen though she was forcefully taken away from her father as he had a large gambling debt he could not pay alone with money. When Atella watched her father make no attempt to save her, she became enraged and began to fight off the men who dragged her away. She was no match for them, but she was stronger than they expected her and none of them no longer wanted possession of her, so she was sold out through the slave trade. At the age of twenty she was sold off to her last and previous master before her days of becoming a gladiator. Much like her father, he was a drunk. A very... lustful drunk. And unfortunately for Atella she was the only female slave. One particular night when the master had more than his usual share of drinks he decided to use Atella for other services. Rather than being violated, Atella chose to stand her ground. A fight quickly broke out between the two and in an act of self defense Atella grabbed the dagger from her master and slit his throat. Of course, people were extremely unhappy to hear of the slave killing her own master and Atella was going to be sentenced to death like many others before her by the animals of the coliseum but before the sentencing could be finalized someone stepped up. Divinious Orkai. He pleaded that rather than killing Atella she should be made into a gladiator. Somehow, the government allowed this happen, but she was forced under Divinious Orkai's ownership as he was the only person who wanted her.
•Miscellaneous: Atella is very hot-headed. It's hard to anger her, but it's even harder to calm her down. Usually she resolves her anger like any other Gladiator would: Fighting. Or vent it out in an extremely violent manner. She may not be the best of warriors, angry or calm, but she still has a way of striking fear into the enemy's heart (if human) as most women are not Gladiators, so seeing one usually surprises and scares them. Her past is also an extremely touchy subject. She doesn't mind talking about it, but she doesn't prefer to do so either, seeing how many people still frown upon her, her actions, and Divinious Orkai's choice to save her.

•Name: Sophia Hastings
•Age: 23
•Gender: Female
•Equipment: N/A
•History: For as long as she could remember, Sophia's family had been in the healing business. Her great, great grandfather, Aleksandar, had devised a new form of healing to help the large blotches that appeared on one's skin after being hit. These blotches were later called a bruise. As a child, Sophia lived above an apothecary shop, which her parents ran and, after her father died as a gladiator - a job he did to gain more money for their poor family - Sophia helped her mother run the small shop. A few years later, when Sophia was 20, her mother, now 45, had contracted a disease, a lethal disease which caused her to die 6 months afterwards, and she only made it that far because of Sophia's meticulous healing. In order to avenge her mother, Sophia tried to find a cure for the disease her mother had, and discovered typhoid fever, which she wasn't able to cure.
When Sophia turned 23, the guards of the town took the shop away from her, claiming she hadn't kept up with her payments. In all honesty, the gladiators had lost one of their nurses and Sophia was the only other qualified person in town. Since she had nothing else to live for, Sophia packed a few bags: One with clothing and necessities, because she only needed one, and 2 with her healing materials, and she set off to the gladiator ring to cook and to heal the wounded survivors.
•Miscellaneous: Sophia has always fantasized about falling in love.... She has a soft, kind heart and a warm smile and she thinks the best of everyone, until given reason to think otherwise.

•Name: Lavi Than (Orphaned at age 8.)
•Age: 19
•Gender: Female
•Equipment: Lavi uses a pair of large chakrams to defend herself when she is not using the bow staff. The material in her clothing is a mix of leather and the type of material Odai's military uses. Her outfit is finished off with boots and gauntlets when she is is battle. Her entire outfit is made to be very lightweight so that she can move around easily.
•History: Lavi was orphaned at a very young age. She has no memory of her real family, she just remembers being recruited as a slave into the arena. For as long as she can remember, she's been shoveling the dead bodies of many gladiators and creatures. Only recently has she been spotted during her secret training, by Odai and was recruited to join his forces. Originally she's been training with a broken shovel, mastering a fighting style using a bow staff, however Odai instructed her to adapt to a different weapon she she just began to learn to use the chakrams. Her last name is the only memory she has of her family, so it's the one thing she insists on keeping.
•Miscellaneous: She is a very quiet girl. She normally keeps to herself and will only talk if approached by another person. It is very rare that she will strike up a conversation just for the heck of it. She has not time to waste her breath, since she knows her breath can be taken from her any second during battle.
