Congradulations on your admittance into Name academy... Here, we offer a friendly and helpful environment for our students...

Academy in present - Name academy is one of the best

Past of Academy - But fifty years ago, Name academy wasn't here, instead, there was a slightly unusual research facility...

Accident that happens - During one winter night, an experiment went out of control, killing several scientists. Luckily for Franken Merlan Drake, he escaped the accident with minor injuries. When the national scientist association heard about this, they decided to close down the facility permanently, determining that the experiments were too dangerous. Furious, Franken Merlan Drake had to find another way to continue his experiments. He researched and devised plans, but none seemed to work. One dark night, he finally devised a plan that would allow him to continue. "An... an... Academy!" He decided that it wouldn't be difficult for him to build a academy/campus on top of his old research facility, where he would be able to retrieve his testing instruments, and gather suitable subjects for this tests... Two birds with a single stone... At first, the scientist association was suspicious of this, but their suspicious vanishsed when graduates from teh academy were incredibly intelligent, though it was no surprise, since Franken Merlan Drake was one of the smartest scientists. But bright things on the surface of something always conceals darker secrets...



Ⅰ. No Godmodding or Auto-Hitting - Doing so, makes it unfair for other RPers, and ruins the RP. This rule mainly applies to fights between role-players, you're free to dodge every attack made by an enemy, just don't overdo it. No one can single-handedly wipe out hoards of monsters without a scratch.
Ⅱ. Follow the Gaia ToS - Reasons for this rule are obvious. Break these rules, and you're not only out of this RP, you're out of Gaia as well...
Ⅲ. Minimal cursing - Good RPers should have more than one adjective in their dictionary.
Ⅳ. Literacy - Post in third-person, and when your character is speaking, use "quotations" and bold. When your character is thinking, use Italics. For thinking, I normally use apostrophes, but quotations are fine as well. Grammar is difficult to follow sometimes, but please do your best in punctuation, capitalization, etc. No text talk please.
Ⅴ. Make your posts look decent - What I require in every post, is the name of your character, an image of your character, and roughly least three lines of text. No one-liners. The name helps the readers and other Rpers figure out who is "Hiding under the bed", and the picture helps them think of other things to put in their post.
Ⅵ. Be active - Pretty much the main reason why some RPs die out, it's because no one posts... If you don't have anything to post about, you can always start training at a dungeon, and someone else will probably pop up, and you'll have something to post about again. If you don't seem to be active, I will send out a few pms to ask for a reason why.
Ⅶ. Quitting - Send me a pm, or say something in the OOC, if you're going to be inactive for a long time, or if you're going to quit the RP. I won't be upset or anything, and it's better than having the other RPers to think that you've died... irl.
Ⅷ. Respect - Don't act aggressively towards the other RPers, do it towards their character instead. RPing is supposed to be enjoyable, not a flame war. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Try to read through all of the posts, since the RPer put a lot of effort into writing that post, and you don't want to make them think that you ignored them.
Ⅸ. Romance - Like any other school/academy-based RP, you can kiss, hug, and hold hands to your satisfaction, but not to the point where you're cybering, or in need of time skips/pms.
Ⅹ. Profiles - Please completely finish your skeletons, since you wouldn't want to be a person walking around without a stomach right? If you have any questions on completing the skeleton, send me a pm before you send it in. Don't post the completed skeleton in the RP, pm me it, and title it "I'm an Experiment" if you're a student, or "I'm an Examiner" if you're a teacher. If I see any mistakes with the profile, I'll notify you of them as soon as possible. Also, if you want me to edit your skeleton after I've posted it up, send me a pm for that as well.

Okay, maybe it is a bit long, but no one's died from filling out a really long skeleton, right? At least, I haven't received a profile from anyone that's died from trying to fill it out- Oh wait...

Looks can be deceiving sometimes... Vance's superiority complex is so extreme, it's at the point where he considers others as simple objects, which he can freely deface or break. The feelings of others are of little to no importance to him. Why would anyone care about the feelings of insignificant objects? So far, the only person he actually sees as a person, is Franken, and to top it off, Vance even follows some of Franken's orders... Although Vance considers others as objects, he is still wary of them. Even though knives are objects, you can never be too careful around them.
To blend in with the students during the day, Vance has built himself a near-perfect alter personality to hide his actual one. While using his 'fake' personality, he pretends to be someone friendly, quiet, and kind. The kind of personality that weaklings had. But Vance isn't exactly the best actor, so his disguise falters on occasions where he becomes angry, or loses control over himself.

I might look normal, but I'm not... Vance has the ability to control the pull of gravity on objects within a certain range, allowing him to crush nearby objects under their own weight, or decrease the pull of gravity on himself, allowing him to move faster, and jump higher. Although he cannot increase and decrease gravity around him at the same time. His power works best within a ten-foot radius of himself. If farther than that, his stamina is drained almost three times faster, while the change in gravity is weaker.

Even the greatest heroes have their flaws... Vance has difficulty stopping projectiles, since his power can only slightly change the trajectory of the projectiles, but not stop them completely. When he gets angered and loses control, he tends to act before thinking about the consequences.

It might not look like it, but I've been through a lot... Vance was born into a poor family, where having more than a single meal in a day would be considered a blessing. Everyday, his parents worked all day, to put the food on the table for him and his younger sister. Being the older sibling, he took care of his sister, and found things for the two of them to do, to take their minds off of their empty stomachs. They would find treasures that were thrown away by people, beg the owner of a small shop for candy, and play around with the other children.

Then the accident happened. His sister, parents, they were all gone. His parents had been caught in a deadly accident at the place where they had worked. Vance and his sister were forced to ration a loaf of bread, believing that their parents would come home eventually. Unavoidably, his sister fell victim to starvation, and he missed her final moments at the hospital. In the end, there was no funeral, who would pay for it?

Since his parents died, he was sent to an orphanage, and started attending school for the first time. Before, the nearest school was too far away to walk to, and his parents didn't have time to drive them. He easily became the top in his class, and wondered why everyone else was so idiotic. All of their lives were so easy, they not only had three meals a day, some even had a meal between meals! If he had a life like that, his mother, father, and most of all, sister, would still be alive. He started seeing everyone as lazy, weak, and worthless. No one could top his scores in anything.

When he was 16, he attended an eventful year at Danuarus. Although most students were only allowed to attend the academy for a single year, Franken Merlan Drake personally requested him to attend a second year. Regular school would only boring for Vance, so he gladly accepted...


There are some things I bet you can't do... He is knowledgeable on swordplay, and the use of weapons. He can also whittle away at a block of wood into a carving of sorts.



Long Bio:
Vance was born into a poor family, where having more than a single meal in a day would be considered a blessing. At first, they didn't think much about it. Their parents didn't come home on certain occasions, where they were trying to get more money, or food. He found a loaf of bread in one of the many cupboards in their home, since there wasn't anything to eat.

While cutting the slice of bread, he told her how he would be the king of the world when he grew up, so that he could put down rules where no one would have to go hungry. The bread was divided up so that they would both have a half of it. Vance tried to eat as little as he could, but his half was quickly gone. When his sister saw this, she generously offered some of her own, telling him that because she was younger, she didn't have to eat as much. But in reality, she was starving herself, so he wouldn't have to. When Vance finally realized her sacrifice, it was too late. He tried to carry her to the hospital, but she was already telling him the last words he would ever hear from her. "Brother... You can't die if you're going to become king, right?" Then he too, fainted.

Days later, he woke up in a hospital, with someone who looked like a doctor standing at his bedside. Vance could tell that something was wrong, before the doctor said it. "Your sister... has passed away." But that wasn't the only bad news. His parents too, were gone. Weeks ago, there had been an accident in the lab they worked at, which was why they didn't come home. His parents' boss wanted to find him and his sister, since he felt responsible for the accident. At that moment, the man that the doctor spoke of, entered the room. That was Vance's first encounter with Franken Merlan Drake.

The former scientist invited him to attend his academy when it opened, and when Vance was old enough. He was unsure why he would attend the academy, but since the man was paying for his medical bill, he decided that it wouldn't hurt. After being released from the hospital, he was taken in by an orphanage, and started attending school for the first time. Before, the nearest school was too far away to walk to, and his parents didn't have time to drive them. He easily became the top in his class, and wondered why everyone else was so idiotic. All of their lives were so easy, they not only had three meals a day, some even had a meal between meals! ☁xxx"When I grow up, I'll make sure no one has to go hungry like this, okay sis?" Vance watched his sister nod, as he fairly divided the last loaf of bread they had, in half. He knew this dream, he had seen it several times before. Even though he had tried to eat as little as possible, he finished his half too fast. Then his sister would notice, and offer him some of her's. "I'm younger, so I don't have to eat as much." Vance even remembered how she had smiled when she told him the lie. He couldn't forgive himself for not seeing through it. Why didn't he see before that she was getting weaker each day? Why did she starve herself for him? Why did she have to die...?

☁xxxVance slowly opened his aqua eyes, and looked out of the window. He could tell by the endless number of trees, that they were near Danuarus now. But it was getting dark, where he should have arrived early in the morning. His eyes flickered over to the driver, who was annoyingly humming along to the radio. The old piece of garbage was driving the piece of junk car, incredibly slow. If Vance wanted to, he could have sprinted all the way to the academy faster. But under Franken's orders, he had to act normal, like the other students. Not like the other students were normal to begin with though. "We're here." Vance watched as the academy, almost magically, emerge from behind the trees.

☁xxxWhen the car stopped, he stepped out, and took in the view of the only place he could truly call 'home'. Vance walked around to the back of he car, and pulled out a bag from the back of the car. The rest of his belongings had been sent in ahead of him. Then he left towards the main building, without saying a word to his driver. There was no need to thank trash, for being there. At the main building, he met the same receptionist he had the previous year. "Oh, it's you again!" She exclaimed, smiling a large smile. When she handed him his key, and told him his class, he quickly turned to leave.

☁xxxBut before he was out of earshot, she called out to him. "Normal boys say "Thank you", you know." Vance almost snapped. This woman always managed to annoy him. "Thank you Ma'am!" he called out, smiling a big, fake smile. He almost stabbed himself at that moment, but didn't. He was going to put up the same facade all year anyways. While climbing up the stairs to the dorms, he heard a loud bang, and when he arrived at the top, he could hear a female voice calling out "Cane". Down the hall, he could tell that she had been the one to break down a door. "You useless piece of trash, pipe down, and shut the heck up!" was what he was about to hiss, but something else came out instead. "Hey~ Could you calm down a bit...?" He held her by her shoulder, to stop her from continuing down her path of destruction.
