"It sure is hot in here."
There were a lot of girls in the show room at the moment, most of them were older than she was, mid to late twenties, but they all treated her finely; not like a child. But that was probably because this wasn't a child's place, and even though she was young she had been forced to group up in this room.
Eight girls were there right now, including her, while the rest were in rooms. Her heart was always pumping, always slightly panicked, even though it had been three weeks since her staying, but she never got used to the lifestyle. Some girls said it takes time, a long time, before you stop caring; but some say you never really get over it, you just bury it deep within your heart and think that's how life is.

They were all beautified, hear pinned up, make-up slapped on, kimono's knotted finely with a large matching bow. All of these alluring aspects were to attract men, to have them come in and pay for a hour, or night, with them. The money went to the higher ups, because most of the girls that were there, were just like her; paying off someone elses mistake.
"Ah!"

Fumiko's eyes focused back, away from her thoughts and pulling into reality. She had been lounging, laying at the side of the show bar - because most customers would pick from the front instead of the side. Her hips were touching the fabric beneath her, palm of her hand keeping her propped up.
The group of girls who stood in front to be first picked had suddenly ran to the back, holding onto themselves for cover. From what could be seen through the wooden bars, a fight had broken out, and it had happened faster than a flash because before she knew it there were three causalities, three men on the floor; one injured badly.
Most of the girls were screaming and squealing, earning a harsh yell from the owner, who had picked up her fan and smacked it on one of the wooden bars. "Be quiet! Shut up! You idiots, get him out of here!" And just as quick her attention was turned to other guards who usually stood at the entrance to rooms. They seemed to be off-put, nervous, but who wouldn't be? But slowly the engaged themselves, one stepping forward cautiously, a hand above his sword. "E-Excuse me sir, not to bother you, but you've caused too much of a commotion and you need to leave." His fellow comrade had pushed him from behind, causing the guard to let out a puff of air and stand straighter, his stutter vanishing. "You're not welcome here."

Fumiko sat up, crawling toward the edge of the wooden frame and clasping on with her hands, head tweaking to weird angles to see well between the bars.
"Fumiko! Get back here!" But she ignored the girls, and couldn't really here them all to well.

"H-Huh? The women?"
The guard had taken a look behind him, looking at his fellow officer before swallowing. The second cadet spoke, feeling a bit braver since he was behind the first, "What? He wants a price? Or a look at their faces?" The first one's eyes came back to him, "Uh, I'm sorry this isn't a place where you can browse. We only serve paying customers." He cleared his throat a bit, still feeling nervous while everyone was on edge. "You idiots! Push him out!" Once again the owner spoke out in a harsh but audible whisper, pushing the second officer in the back with her closed fan. He was nudged forward, his shoe scuffing the dirt beneath their feet just a bit, but he spoke and agreed with the first. "Yes, you can't stay here if you don't have money."

Shrieks irradiated from the girls as the door had been kicked down, the guards had gathered near the entrance but didn't do anything, their nerves most likely kicking in.
All the girls stood huddled together, but Fumiko had been too far off at the side, watching the scene unfold. Nothing bothered her, and he wasn't very scary to her, in fact he was interesting because nothing ever scared him. But when he spoke about the brothel, and the girls who were there, she couldn't help but get mad. For the first time in a long time she had frowned at someone, her eyebrows pulling together and causing a crease in the middle of her forehead. "You're going to need to leave!" One of the guards had raised his voice, and a few other guards had gathered as well, all lining themselves up against the entrance.

The group of girls had shoved themselves in the corner, trying not to be the first one's to get hit or hurt in any rumble that was soon to come but Fumiko stood up, only getting angrier and thinking about his previous statement. "Please leave, you are not welcome here. Someone of your caliber could never understand the hardships of this lifestyle." A guard had leaned forward and banged on the wooden planks, trying to shush her immediately. "Quiet! Don't make things worse!" Fumiko turned to him, huffing in a large amount of air, and for the first time yelling it all out. "What? How dare you speak up as well! Everyone here works off to pay debts, but none of you could ever think about doing what we do, you wouldn't make it!" She grasped onto the wooden bars herself, her rage only growing for the first time in years. "You better quiet down or we'll take care of you too." Fumiko kicked the bar with the bottom of her foot, a small vibration letting loose before calming. "Kill me then! I'd rather die than spend another day here listening to all of you fools!"

Fumiko's face fell flat, she wasn't sure if she should let her heart weigh a ton, or be furious at the fact that she had been given a new nickname. The girls had grown calmer as he left the show room, and all though they did not disperse from each other completely, they did let go of one another.
She frowned and swallowed, lunging forward to look through the door that he brought down. "Why you-" Fumiko pushed herself forward, walking out the door. She wasn't sure why, but all she wanted to do was exactly what he wanted everyone to do to him, smack him a bit; maybe it was his lack of manners or her pent up rage, but she was boiling over.
She dashed out quickly, her socks bustling up the dirt beneath her, but before she could even get close she was grabbed from behind. The large bow that tied their kimono's together had been her downfall, "Hey, where do you think you're going? You're debt isn't paid off, maybe we can't stop him, but we sure as hell can stop you." The guard had pulled her close, grabbing her wrist and becoming forceful and angry, and all of a sudden Fumiko felt dismal again.

He tossed her aside, pushing her into the arms of another guard who was just as forceful and just as displeased. "We'll take care of you later, you better hope you have a good recovery." A few of the guards laughed, but some how the anger that had stirred up in her had also awakened something in them, because they didn't seem as nervous before. "You've been here too long, we're going to have to teach you a lesson now." The few guards that had been lined up had rushed forward, but it didn't matter because her face had been moved away from the scene. The guard holding her had grabbed onto her jaw, pulling it into his own view. "You should really be worrying about yourself, with a mouth like that I'm surprised you get any work." Fumiko frowned, and from the angle she was at she could hear swords being pulled out of her sheaths and girls squealing again, but nothing could be seen as he held her face taught. "Put her in the room, when they're done with him they can take care of her." The owner had been looking down at her from the entrance, granted it was just a step above the dirt path, the entrance to the rooms and staircase.

The guard efficiently obeyed, beginning to pull and tug her along, but Fumiko struggled and tugged. "Stop it, let me go!" She tried to pull away in any way she could, her face her arms, but she had never been a strong girl, frail in stature and heart. "Let go!" She pulled and tugged, but the struggle wasn't that much for him, easily he had lifted her up into the entryway already in the back, and she couldn't hear the sound of fighting or girls cries anymore, just her own heart beating.

The door slide open, rather forcefully, she could hear the loud 'clack' it made when slid all the way back and that was the only thing she could hear. It was as if the world had gone silent, everything pausing except this scene.
She was pushed to the floor, her feet stumbling on the mat before caving in underneath her. Fumiko's hands caught her fall, saving her face from hitting the ground, but it was a useless defense that was too late, seeing as how she was only smashed to the ground by the guards foot. His foot had been pushing down on the area between her shoulder blades, under her neck, it had caused her elbows to fold, her palms trying to push herself back up. "Hey, they must be done by now, taking on multiple guys isn't something one guy can do, ya' kno'?" And for a moment she had believed him, hearing a voice come from the other side of the door that had been shut sometime ago, something she didn't notice till now. Her heart dropped heavily, thinking - at first - that it was his accomplices. But the sentence continued on, and the word that set her off, was 'pink'.
"B-Be quiet!" She pushed up with her palms, and had gotten up, sitting on her side hip but it wasn't due to some amazing strength that she had seized within her.
The guard had let up, pulling his foot off of her back and drawing his sword which was steadily shaking, just like him. "Get back! I'll kill you, get back!"
