The most distinctive thing about Mudbright is how easily she is overlooked.
In a swamp already so full of mud, a very small and plain doe like Mud herself tends to blend into the background. Her silent and skittish manner does her no favors in making an impression on other kin, but she has found some solace in hanging back and observing.
As chronically hesitant as Mud maybe be, her mind is sharp and always picking up on the intricacies of the world around her. Incredibly inquisitive at her core, she hungers both for guidance and recognition.

Patience is named for the virtue Mud holds closest to her heart, having learned this by watching the moth go through her life stages. Now, Patience serves as a reassuring reminder that perhaps, someday, Mud might also emerge as something greater. They are never far apart, strongly bonded and affectionate in their own quiet, subdued way. |

Death in the Afternoon[Naming Dream]

A childlike buck both in attitude and scrawny build, Death in the Afternoon nonetheless manages to impress (or appall) with his absolute fearlessness. A strange Kio who is obsessed with fighting the beasts he encounters in the Swamp, Bloodsport certainly lives up to his nickname with how he revels in harassing the wildlife.
He's an active Kio in general, however, eager to go along on any outings and adventures others might invite him to. Despite his appearance, Bloodsport is a very cheerful fellow who just wants to get along with others and make friends. Because of that, he might be talked out of more his more obliviously violent tendencies... but he's so set on making himself out to be the boldest braggart of the Swamp that it's not likely he'll stop his thrill-seeking any time soon.

Bloodsport's cheetah has taught him everything he needs to know about morals. She does whatever strikes her as a good idea at the moment, heedless of how others might feel, especially if this means playing with her food before killing it. Of course, she's an animal and Bloodsport isn't, but nonetheless he glorifies her feral nature and follows her example often. The two have a savage partnership, often sharing creatures for sport and food.

A kin who seeks to stay true to her name, Find Peace is a doe always seeking harmonious and calm atmospheres. Exceedingly soft-hearted, she is easily overwhelmed by more rambunctious kin and demanding activity, but she always makes a conscious effort to find the best in others and stay positive anyway, though... fleeing or hiding behind others is not unknown to Dove.
In fact, she loves being protected by other kin. As Dove tends to equate love with peace, she finds herself happiest in relationships where she is adored and pampered, quick to fall for others and just as quick to have her heart broken because of it. Call it naivety; nonetheless, Dove remains dreamy and optimistic.

There's a story behind the name of Find Peace's swan. She found the beautiful bird badly tangled up deep in some heavy brush, injured no doubt as the result of escaping a predator. The unnatural state of the distressed swan, when they're usually known as so graceful, both drew Dove in and frightened her.
With some work, she did manage to pick the exhausted swan out, and tended to her all on her own when usually Dove is so quick to call on others. It's something she's quite proud of, and State's not left her side since.

A Stranded Star[Naming Dream]

A maudlin aura seems to surround A Stranded Star. He is deliberate in his words and those words tend to the pessimistic side. It's not too far off the mark, calling Comet a loner. He is aloof thanks to a fear of getting hurt in every sense of the word, refusing to get close to others and avoiding unfamiliar situations and the risks that come with it.
Nonetheless, being a hermit doesn't seem to be working out -- it gets rather lonely indeed, being so fearful. It's not unheard of for Comet to allow some company on occasion anyway, but if his quiet and cynical manner doesn't put others off, he withdraws eventually on his own, afraid to even admit his many worries.
Still, for as distant he is, Comet always remembers the kin who have treated him kindly.

It's only fitting that such a reclusive buck should find a loyal companion in an old tortoise like A Shell That Sang. A Stranded Star is always sure to keep a slow pace for Singer, on those occasions his pet wants to totter along with him, patient and understanding with everyone but especially Singer. Despite his age, Singer can be playful and even adventurous at times, something Comet could stand to learn a little. Unfortunately, Singer doesn't actually sing. |

While Made Peace isn't as belligerent as he used to be, it's fair to say he's still quite rough around the edges. That overbearing personality that got him into so many fights before now gets him into confrontations of a different kind as he inserts himself into others' business with the same pursuit of victory.
Truce takes it upon himself to investigate and mediate conflicts. He can take a rather simplistic view of things while he's at it, riled up more by the fighting than the injustices that tend to cause them, and he is stubborn enough to become a nuisance if his advice (or demanding, really) is not heeded.
It's plain to see that Truce means well. He just wants everyone to get along. His methods of blustering and intimidation just tend to come off as a little hypocritical, to self-righteous, and it doesn't help that he's a gossip as well in the name of deep concern. If anyone tries to correct his behavior right back, it's very likely that Truce will end up offended and, well, you definitely don't want to make an enemy of him...!

Fought With Fury[Naming Dream]

Fought With Fury? More like Fraught With Fury.
Though actually, Firebrand herself doesn't seem to mind the way her aggression puts others off. She sees no point in weak-bodied and weak-willed kin, openly disdaining anyone who hasn't earned her respect. A good fight in order to let out some of that churning rage is all Firebrand is interested in, and as such, she is always testing others.
It's not as though Firebrand is in a frenzy all of the time, however. If she were any good with words, she might describe it more as being restless with anger, like her blood is boiling as easily as it runs through any other kin. It's all she's ever known.

You don't want to earn Fought With Fury's ire. Not literally, not the the giant angry wasp she tends to sic on kin who frustrate her enough to acknowledge, but aren't worth trouncing herself. Ire is all too happy to encourage Firebrand's impatient, incorrigible belligerence.

In a While likes to be kept busy. Usually, this means tending to his resplendent pumpkin patch in the Swamp, but actually he likes to kept general moving in general, very high-energy and distracted. He's responsible about his apparent calling and at the same times retains a childish streak, playful and flighty outside of protecting his garden. Despite the work that goes into mastering the art of gourds, Wait is really just simple and obsessive and ultimately prefers to act like a foal when not gardening.
In fact, it would probably be best to run into him outside of his territory. Wait doesn't just look the part of an especially vibrant crocodile -- he'll act it should he feel insulted or threatened, and especially if his gourds or other possessions (including those he's grown close to) are messed with. His immaturity turns dangerous when coupled with such reptilian ferocity.

There is a caiman that lurks around In a While's pumpkin patch, and he is always sure to call out "see you later!" when he leaves her to guard their shared territory.
Wait holds a lot of affection for the caiman, thanks to common features, but he has a healthy respect for just what she is capable of. They generally keep their distance, but Wait is sure of her loyalty. Farewell is a common sight around the garden.
