I'm in need of y'all's help picking a name of a Starship.

I'm trying to come up with name for my main Star Trek ship. I want one that hasn't been done a lot, sounds good, and is a word.

So far I have:
Illustrious
Exemplar
Surveyor (kinda like)
Navigator
Cartographer (another I kinda like)
Azimuth
Query
Curiosity
Oriskany

Is it an explorer class, or meant for tough battles?

Azimuth is a cool one. It sounds very unique. As with Oriskany as well.

I like azimuth because it sounds like an ancient demon, with the knowledge of centuries, that could still kick your a**... LOL

Thus warship for exploration ^.^

Oriskany is the name of a WWII aircraft carrier. She was named after the American Revolutionary War battle of Oriskany. She served from 1950 to the mid 1990s.

I guess ether one wouldn't be bad, Azimuth has been used a lot less than Oriskany.

Although the actual definition is interesting ...I do have to agree with Dude. Azimuth does have a demonic ring to it.

But I watch alot of fantasy shows.
So I can tell you, Azimuth fits the bill much better then Oriskany.

That is... if I'm even pronouncing them right, in my head ^^;

Azimuth - Az-za-mooth

Well I could combine the two, USS Azimuth NCC-2877, Oriskany class. I might change the number later.
