Some students might have not seen much of the school's theater since last Christmas, and that which was the school play. In fact, since the last play, the place had been abandoned by much of student body, occasionally becoming the hide out for third years and gnomes who were trying to escape from cleaning duty. But recently there had been noise from the catwalks, an occasional clatter of props and instruments from the pit. Gnomes no longer went there to hide, they had been sent to work. To clean.

Third years were now finding the doors locked, or, they would enter only to find gnomes assaulting them with less than clean...objects, (usually balls of slime and grime). The Theater had undergone a renovation, but to what purpose? Another school play? Maybe, but so far no try-outs had been posted, no fliers asking for stage crew, (then again, many might assume gnomes would be in charge of that.) Regardless, the theater was no longer abandoned, and it seemed that it was to be used once more.

Today, The doors were wide open, the stage fully lit. A sign taped to the doors said,
Please go and wait on the stage.
DO NOT PLAY WITH THE PROPS

Oddly enough, there were no props on the stage, unless you counted chairs in a circle. One chair outside of the circle was not the classic run down class room chairs; it was a nice, plush, desk chair, complete with wheels. In the wings, boxes were stacked, yet there was no way to tell what was inside them, or, if there was anything in them. All in all, the theater wasn't very impressive, and aside from it being clean... not very interesting. Still, it looked like that something was going to happen, and perhaps a class of sorts was about to start

OOC

  • There is a class cap of 30 students, and since there are… well over 30 students the classes are in the format of ‘CLASS A’ and ‘CLASS B’.
  • If you sign up for one DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE OTHER. I would think that obvious, but seriously, the classes are built the same, and will be doing the same thing.
  • First and Second years can go into either class
  • If you have more than one student character, I do request you only sign up with one, and only if there are spots open towards the end of sign ups, can you put forward your second student in the class room.
  • Sign ups are open for 2 days, and class will officially start at the end of the second, (though activity such as teacher arriving/getting set up, might occur sooner).

  • Please BOLD the name of who you are talking to, and if you want to ask the teacher a question, please QUOTE me as well as bold.
  • This is a theater class, and there are typical theater rules. Like don’t run on the catwalk, don’t fly in or out anything without letting anyone know, and for the love of god, no playing with the props, (unless you have permission of course!).
  • If you’re unfamiliar with a typical theater set up and terms, don’t worry. I might have done stage crew IRL, but no place is the same, and my knowledge is minor at best. I don’t expect everyone to know terms and whatnot, so feel free to BS!

The class itself is about acting, and how students can utilize their FEAR born talents and gifts to the best of their abilities. Farther down the line there might be race focused exercises, but for now it’s going to be general. If you want your student to have a ‘star’ moment or want something to happen to them, feel free to PM me with your idea and we can see if it’s possible, (in all likelihood it is). At some points, students might be asked to go into their natural forms, but ONLY when prompted. This is my first class and GMing aside from the last meta, so if you notice things I might miss PLEASE feel free to tell me. I expect a lot of pages to fly by and I can miss stuff.

All in all, I really hope you guys have fun.

She really never had a reason to go in there. The auditorium of the school was something she'd found to be locked by the time she had really been curious enough to take a peek. When the doors were finally found open, Levi headed on in. There wasn't much in the room by general observation but the space, to the tatzel, was big. It never fail to amaze the white haired ghoul just how BIG the interior rooms of this school could be.

Taking note again of the sign that was on the doors, Levi made her way up to the stage and took a seat in one of the chairs. There didn't seem to be anyone around at the time. Not a peep was heard in her near vicinity so-

...cracking her knuckles and slouching into her chair, Levi closed her eyes and decidedly napped.

(( changing spaces! will reply soon to any interactions V8 ))

Calder had never taken acting classes. He hadn't seen the production last year and never had seen a play. He'd only been introduced to movies that year, and TV his first year. Acting was entirely foreign to him, but it sounded interesting by what he heard. It was worth a shot, and he felt that if he was trying to find exactly what he wanted to do with his life, he might as well take as many classes as he could. School for him was all about new experiences, and this was certainly something new.

Walking in, he noticed the large stage and the many chairs facing it. It was a big classroom. Bigger than any he had ever been in, with a high ceiling and bright lights.

As his hooves clip clopped up the stairs and onto the stage, he saw one ghoul, Levi, already sitting. The slight increase in height made him a tad worried and he stayed clear of the edge of the stage. "This is a stage, right?" He tapped a hoof on the ground to be sure. "Rather.....high, isn't it?"

West had no interest in acting. Even though subtlety and charm were skills that some wrath demons possessed, West himself was entirely too blunt to be good at either. No, he was joining this class for the same reason he had auditioned for the school play when he had arrived at Amityville nearly a year ago. Because his mother had told him to.

Upon entering the auditorium, he noticed a familiar pair of pale monsters already positioned on stage. On his way past, he flicked at Levi's fluffy tail, then took a seat all the way on the opposite side of the circle from the ghoul, looking as disinterested as he possibly could. He inclined his head at Calder, fully conscious of the fact that he was now in the other boil's debt. West didn't like the feeling.

It was time for Chuppi to be brave, it was time for her to step up and do things that would be expected of her. She needed to get out there and show everyone that, as a Knob now, she had nothing to fear. It didn't take her long to think she might have made a bad choice, though the moment she saw Calder her fears slowly started to dissipate. There was someone here she knew, and she would be okay with that.

"Calder." Her greeting was brief, and her cheeks were flushed with nerves. So much had happened, she had so much to tell him. Of course she couldn't be rude either so she turned to look at the ghoul sitting, and she bowed her head at Levi before giving her greeting. "Buenas dias." It took her a moment to notice the other boil there, and she pressed her hands together as she looked at West. "A...and, buenas dias to you as well."

Acting...well. Xiu couldn't claim that it was really her kind of thing, but at the same time it never hurt to learn new things, right? Besides, perhaps it would come in handy in the future.

This was the baku's logic as she peeked into the room. She was relieved to see that she was not the first to arrive--there were other students milling around already, including one who she was very much familiar with. "Jiejie!" Her eyes lit up as she spotted Levi, and then she turned to regard the rest of her classmates. Familiar faces, but no one who she was really acquainted with--West, at least, she remembered from the field trip, but even then she didn't really know him.

Er, well, meeting new people was always nice, right?

Raising a hand, she waved to Calder, Temes, and West and chirped a cheerful greeting.

"I think they're supposed to be high," Julian's voice came from the back of the theater, carried by the acoustics of the room. Rather than walk the whole way through the rows of chairs, he flapped into the air ever so slightly and sort of hop-glided to and onto the stage, landing next to the stairs. He smiled a bit and walked the rest of the way to the group of chairs.

He recognized some of the other students, but Calder was the only one he really know by name. And that was just barely. His smile faltered slightly when he remembered what had almost happened to the kelpie, but he pushed the thought aside.

He'd never actually acted before, but he figured it would be similar to the RPGs he played with his brothers and mum. He thought maybe an acting class would help him on his way to being a more confidant demon.

Calder turned to Julian and then looked back at the edge of the stage, stepping back more and more. "Then why isn't there any railings?" He pointed out, looking back at the boil. It seemed awfully unsafe. What if someone ....fell?

Swallowing, he looked about and noticed both West and Chuppi, and his mood was improved. When the little monster ghoul welcomed them in her strange language, Calder called out a happy "Been No Dials" back. He....still didn't seem to have a grasp at repeating her language.

Galloping over, he knelt down and beamed at the little monster. "Are you here for acting too? I just saw the notice. I didn't even think this room was open and look how big it is." Then he placed his hands on her shoulders and looked at her seriously. "Watch out. This stage is high." To which he looked back at the edge of the stage and felt a little sicker. Maybe he'd just....scoot behind Chuppi a bit. Yeah. That was better.

It didn't take long for something to burst her sleep bubble. Luckily, the ghoul hadn't picked up on just what it was that assaulted her tail. The heavy napper popped back up with a rather startled jump, tail picking up off the floor and curling up in attention. Her wide eyes peered around at was now a stage with her peers beginning to pour in. Staring across, the slits of her gold eyes settled on the wrath demon with a friendly glare before she was addressed by Chuppi. Again, it was that sort of talk she didn't understand, but the ghoul assumed it was some sort of customary greeting. She offered it back in respect as best as she could. Aye! Beanus deus! Her spanish was excellent.

The baku then perked up a greeting as lively as always. She'd gotten used to Xiu's term for her and found it rather endearing. Anyone who mocked her or Xiu for it would find themselves with a tailwhip to the face. It was rude to look down on others for using language that wasn't their own. Levi herself found it intriguing that there was such a variety that hadn't been known to her at all for the large majority of her life, and she looked forward to learning more. Aye, Xiu! C'mon over n' have a seat. Don't know what we're expectin' but said fer us ta find a seat, eh? She patted down on one of the seats next to her to let the baku know it was hers for the taking.

High? ... She hadn't the foggiest how this height could be considered high. This was just a few steps off the ground. The hooved ghoul ((sorry Calder)) looked a bit nervously at the edge of the stage and Levi had to chuckle at the sight. Don't think nobody's gonna push ya, ghoulie. Yer alright thar.

Julian moved back to the edge of the stage and looked over. It wasn't too far of a drop, he could jump off with no real problem. But if you accidentally walked off... Yeah, that would be a problem.
"Not sure. I think they can be elevated or not, but I don't really know why. Maybe to separate the audience from the actors, so that there's a divide between the production and reality. If there were railings... it would kind of take away from that, wouldn't it?" It was the best explanation he had.

The bird-like demon turned away from the edge of the stage and back to his classmates. Calder had gone off to talk to another monster (Chuppi) and the other two ghouls seemed to know each other. The wrath demon was the only one not socializing and Julian had the bad feeling that if he tried to, he'd have problems talking with the other boil.
So, for the moment, he wandered around the stage a bit, taking it all in. The last time he'd been on a stage had been the Battle of the Bands. And hadn't that been fun...

As more students began to enter, West just sat back and watched. He had come across the seemingly harmless chupacabra during at least one other school function, but that didn't stop his eyes from narrowing when she addressed him. Was that a greeting or was the tiny ghoul cursing him out? Calder and Levi seemed to take her words in stride so West followed suit, not even attempting to replicate what Chuppi had actually said. "Yeah. You too."

Acting. Bul had never been in a play before, but he'd seen a few. Nothing that was immediately enticing to him but after the stint in the haunted house he had a little bit of interest in uhm.. IMPROVING his acting skills.

What had he done in that place that warranted a need to improve? Only his group would ever know and he'd be damned if he ever reenacted that with Demi. Maybe someone else, anyone else really. But not Demi again. Unfortunately the only person there that may have some sort of inkling was Calder whom which Bul steered very clear of if only for that reason.

Limping onto stage; still covered in scabs from his healing, the half beast went and signed his name up before observing the familiar faces of West and Levi. He wondered how they had done on their trip considering they were a rather tough batch- though he wouldn't bring up the subject if they didn't either.

And then there was West, sitting all alone and not looking too happy. Calder BARELY knew the demon, but seeing as he wore his mark, he felt they at least had something that he would now interpret as friendship.

Ears flicking up, he turned his head and smiled at Chuppi." I'm gonna talk to West. You should find a seat before they're all taken." He said, and rose up to walk over to the grumpy demon. "Hi West!" He said, seeming to not take the hint the demon wasn't in the mood (as if he was ever).

Taking a seat, he scooted it nearer to the demon and sat down, smiling. "Are you here to act too? Are you a good actor? I haven't seen you in a while. I was meaning to talk with you about something." He looked about and then reached his hand up to whisper into the boil's ear. "About the mark business."
