[OOC: This means that if you did not post in at least once within 48 hours from the time of summon, I have the right to remove you from this exam and put you in a solo exam! Don't worry, it's not a permanent DQ!]

Malcolm was actually pretty fickle with his exams, changing them often for the fun of it - the only reason most students would not know this is because they only needed to take the exam once before they move on to being second year students. This time, the students would notice several small wooden rowboats lined up at the stretch of water at the side of the classroom.

"To pass, get from one end of the room to the other," He pointed at the other side of the classroom, "With the boat still intact. If you sink, you fail as well... Just get to the side and pull yourself out of the water if you find yourself shipwrecked. Can't swim? Here's a great time to learn! Don't worry, I guess I won't allow you to drown... Good luck!"

He then left the students, strolling down the path beside the water in order to wait for them on the other side.

Exam Mechanics
Every time you roll a dice for something, it is considered a 'turn'. Once you hit 7 failed turns/rolls, you failed! ICly, this means the boat either sunk or fell apart!

Remember: To pass, you need at least 5 successful rolls, no need for them to be in consecutive order! As long as you get 5 successful rolls before the 7 failed rolls, it means you got to the finishing line with the boat still intact!

1 - 2: You somehow managed to row past all the traps! Success!
----3: You rowed straight into a trap... Fail sauce.
4 - 5: You somehow managed to row past all the traps! Success!
6 - 7: You rowed straight into a trap... Fail sauce.
----8: You dragged someone into a trap with you... Super fail sauce. Quote the person who posted RIGHT BEFORE YOUR POST(S), and rp it out! That person will be trapped too!
----9: You rowed straight into a trap... Fail sauce.
---10: You somehow managed to row past all the traps! Success!

Even : You freed yourself! Yay! This is NOT considered a 'successful' roll and will not count towards the 5 you need to pass!
Odd : You are still trapped... This is considered a 'fail' roll!
-> You only roll ONCE; for example, if you fail roll once, assume damage was done to the boat and then you got free; so there is no need to roll again and again and again till you get an even number! Thus, you you fell into a trap, and rolled odd (fail roll), that's just 2 fail rolls!

Description of traps: For IC purposes! Pick one if you roll a trap!

The summon for the exam came and the frost demon was all ready for it.

Too bad she didn't know it was one where they would row boats through an obstacle course. She was in a very nice dress that day.

She was fortunately / most unfortunately first to arrive at classroom 13 and it took a while for Edel to awkwardly glance back and forth at the unfamiliar professor before deciding that it might be good to begin.

Right.

Edel, density of 0.9167 g/cm³, would have floated along the course perfectly, except that taking a boat would be a nice idea considering there were ??? challenges awaiting for her. She didn't know what those were – they definitely were there – but she didn't want to know anyway.

The boat sunk into the water by only just a little as the extremely buoyant ghoul stepped into it. If it was any consolation, at least she wouldn't drown. Alas, before she could even start to paddle away, the boat had drifted into the nearby whirlpool and sent her into a dizzying eddy.

There was a loud “crack” coming from the end of the boat. The whirlpool had sent the boat and ghoul flying into the bank.

Edel bit her lip and watched pensively as water started to creep into the wooden floatation device. Not too good now was it?

Pull yourself together! she chided herself, paddling with more gusto than before. Good for the frost demon that she managed to evade the next whirlpool and move on with the course.

Edel stared long and hard at the fin that protruded out of the water. Very ominous music started to play.

Therefore the frost demon just had to row faster.

Bless the shark, for it was keeping pace with the lone paddler on the course. Too bad both the frost demon and sea creature were too busy noticing each other that they BOTH ended up getting caught in a whirlpool.

The ghoul thinned her lips as she found herself spinning round and round again, this time with a shark's fin sticking out of the water and doing the same.

The shark got dizzy first.

It slammed into the side of the boat, sending it out of the whirlpool, but not without any damage to the boat.

More water was leaking in.

The frost demon cocked her head to the side and grit her teeth, paddling even harder to distance herself away from the centrifugal current. Concentrate!

Thump.

The boat suddenly stopped and there was this puckering sound coming from the outsides. Edel looked out of the boat and spied some great orange tentacles suctioning themselves onto the boat.

UH.

Leaning over, the ghoul placed the paddle on the side of the boat and shoved at the tentacles, hoping to scrape them off.

Too bad they were unrelenting. The tentacles got away with a good solid plank of the boat.

She'd better hurry.

The drag from each stroke of the paddle was starting to put a strain on her arm. But Edel kept going on. She was so close already ....

With one final push, Edel lurched herself forward and the boat glided to the end of the course. She made it! The frost demon quite nearly jumped out of the boat and pulled it onto the bank before any more water leaked in and capsized it. It would be needing some repairs but ... the Professor would take this right?

Better shut up for now and not aggravate him any further. The frost demon wasn't sure if Professor Malcolm was the type to be attached to boats but it was his property after all.
