[1v1] Time for a rematch (Mac/Shun)

The past week or so hadn't been going too well for Shun. The little jobs he had been running for the Family were turning out to be more taxing on him than they should. Granted, the fights he got into weren't all his fault, they still happened. It making the healing progress slow to say in the least.

Regardless, the string of either failure or bad luck seemed to just remind him of how poorly he had done against Mac. So despite still being roughed up, he went out to try and get a rematch.

All he had done was knock on Mac's door and stated to meet him at the gym in an hour.

There, he waited.

Initially, Mac had agreed to the rematch.

But once Shun was gone? He didn't want to go. In fact, he may - only slightly - have whined like a little scareling. He'd beaten Shun once. Why did he have to fight him again? Shun hated him, and to be honest he wasn't too keen on the other Reaper either. What if Shun won this time? That would be terrible. Then he'd have to challenge him again to reclaim his win, and then Shun would challenge him again, so on and so forth until one of them died for good and left the other with one less person to battle in the world.

Okay, so the last part didn't seem too bad, but the getting there? That was work.

Mac just wanted to vegetate, now was that so hard to ask?

But he already said he would, so he dragged his a** out of bed and wandered to the gym, nonetoohappy about it.

"Mmmmkay, so we get this over with, yes?"

While he waited, Shun had done some light stretches to hopefully loosen up some of his stiffness. When Mac arrived, he ceased this and went ahead to summon his daggers. He was going to try and dive right into this if he could. Crouching down into his usual fighting stance, he waited for just a moment before beginning to move towards the other Reaper.

Letting out a breath, the grim reaper soon picked up the speed, gritting his teeth as he felt a small spike of pain shoot up his leg. Yes, he shouldn't be doing this right now, but this loss had been nagging at his pride since it happened. Now seemed just about as good as any other time really.

Closing in on the psychopomp, he gripped onto his daggers before making one swipe with his left arm towards Mac's torso.

Silence, Eh? Well, okay then.

Mac gave a grunt as the dagger flashed against him, trying to shove the offending hand away with his right, but finding no luck. Luckily for Shun, he was unaware of the injuries Shun already sustained; if he knew about them, he'd be going after them. As it were he swung his free hand out at Shun's left shoulder, trying to at least disable one arm.

Seriously? Those daggers were trouble.

Soon after he had clipped Mac with a dagger, Shun felt a fairly solid punch to his left shoulder. It left a dull ache in its wake but it was better to be hit there than his right. Gritting his teeth he hopped back before letting out a breath, preparing himself. Perhaps if he moved a little faster, this will go more towards his favor. Once he was ready, he bolted to move to try and flank the other reaper, ignoring the protests his leg was giving him as he did this.

Mac summoned his staff, passing it quickly from one hand to the next. He startled as Shun bolted, quickly switching hands for the dominant grip, swinging his staff like a club; admittedly he was blind with surprise, acting on reflex rather than calculated moves. Of course, he did have a personal goal to disable those dagger-wielders, but right now he'd just be happy with a hit.

Much to his relief when he felt the force of the impact vibrate through his arms.

Closing in, Shun soon felt a large pain hitting him right in his side. Letting out a grunt, he staggered to the side. It had knocked him mostly out of range, but he managed to clip the tip of his dagger left onto Mac's arm or something. It wasn't nearly as much as he would have liked, but it was still something, he supposed.

Gritting his teeth, he steadied himself before preparing to try and strike again.

Mac, still feeling the attack he dealt Shun, tried to scramble to get out of the way of the daggers. He failed in that, but the resulting clip wasn't something he needed to worry about. Digging his heels to steady himself, Mac pushed himself forward into a charge at the other Reaper, this time holding the smaller end of his staff out like a lance.

Feeling slightly more prepared this time around, Shun rushed ahead to meet with Mac. Once they were closing in, he twisted out of the way while the staff was thrusted out at him. As he dodged, his left arm again lashed out for the other Reaper, aiming to cut into whatever he could. For now, it seemed he was favoring use of his left dagger. Mostly it was because with his right arm currently battered from events prior to the battle, he could strike more quickly with his left.

Mac was starting to realize that he was always dodging from the blows to his right side from Shun's left. Only just starting though; even then it was just a passing huh. When the next attack came Mac assumed that would be the time he'd switch arms and was more prepared to dodge an attack on his left; he was wrong, terribly wrong.

At the last moment he tried to correct it, but Shun's daggers bit in more than his staff nicked.

Shun saw the staff coming at him, and he managed to avoid taking a solid hit this time around. Narrowing his eyes, he shifted to the other side and began to try and strike Mac with his right. However, it was a feint. While he attempted to draw the other reaper's attention with what was currently his slower arm, he slashed out for his ribcage with the left

Mac's eyes widened as he fell for it a second time, despite the reality being that this was Shun's first real feint against him. He lifted his arms to block the attack from the right, which left his chest wide open for the real attack; it hit him square, but thankfully the blade bit through layers of clothing first, which somewhat softened the blow.

Alas, not by much.

Coughing on reflex, Mac knocked the attacking left arm away, doing no more than a swat.

Though his arm was swatted away, Shun didn't let that deter him at all. He began to lunge at the other reaper, only to disappear into a smokey wisp. Within a fraction of a second later, he reappeared to strike Mac from behind. Another poof and he struck from the side. Another to strike at the opposite. This continued a couple more times from several different angles before he finally landed a few feet away, letting out a breath from having expended a decent chunk of FEAR in one go.

Effect: +1 accuracy this turn.. not that it was needed lol

Suddenly, Mac was getting it from all sides. He tried to swing at the Reaper once he thought he could, but with how fast he was moving it was near impossible to catch up. It only left him flailing and eventually tired, not to mention thoroughly wounded.

Well played, a*****e. Well played.

When the Reaper stopped attacking to catch his breath at a safe distance, Mac took that as an opportunity, charging to close the distance and twisting his torso to slam his shoulder into whatever part of Shun he could manage. An attempted football tackle, looking to bring him to the ground.
