PROFESSOR NAME ToT'er Name: Break

General Information: Break believes that both agility and endurance is the best asset for a to trick or treater to have, so with the interest of looking for potential among the students he invites you all to try his course.

The Course: Thunder Road
A rocky, uneven road built to test the students and see how they handle themselves across rough terrain. Your student must run through the entire course, up hill, and keep running without stopping. If they slow their pace or come to a complete stop, they'll be struck by lightning and it will be the end of the line for them!

Course can be ran solo or in groups.

Win - You've survived five rounds of dice rolls and crossed the finish line!
Lose - If your HP has reached zero, there is a narrow path on each side of the course. Hop off onto it and exit the room. If insta-killed, you dissipate and wake-up in Nurse Cricket's Office.

Mechanics: Roll a one 8-sided die to determine the results your student will get and make sure to adjust your HP accordingly
Each time you survive a round, repeat the above until you complete the course.

1 Insta-kill!
2 Live
3 - 10 HP
4 - 20 HP
5 Live
6 Live
7 - 20 HP
8 - 10 HP

Bonus Mechanics:
If you get a lousy roll, a Y2 or Y3 student may roll a one 6-sided die ( ONE TIME ONLY ) and attempt to evade the hit.

Y2 students must roll a 5 or 6 to evade the lightning.
Y3 students must roll an even number to evade the lightning.

Getting away from Yin hadn't been easy, but Alex had somehow managed to find some spare time on his own. The other boil just wanted to look out for him, and Alex wanted to be able to do that for him as well. But at the same time, how was Alexander supposed to do that, as useless at nearly everything that he was?

And so, at the first opportunity that he got, Alex had decided to do this course, to try and improve himself in the area that he felt he needed the most improving.

Speed.

As he gazed up that long and incredibly steep hill, with it's treacherous lightening bolts raining down at random intervals, he grimaced. Was this really the best idea for him right now? Should he really continue on?

He knew the answer, as sure as he knew his chances of succeeding in this foolish venture were slim. And with that, he began the climb.

HP: 40/40

He had made it the first part up the hill unmolested, though he really wasn't moving all that much faster then normal.

A sudden strike of lightening that gave him an incredibly strong zap and sent him hurtling sideways to the ground may have opened his eyes a little.

He really needed to get moving and get his a** up this hill.

He barely managed to push himself up from the first lightening strike when another one came sizzling down towards him, knocking him off of his feet again. This time, instead of collapsing in a heap, his limp and knocked unconscious self rolled rapidly back down the hillside towards the starting point once more.

HP: 0/40

Third Round: Struck and knocked out!

SECOND ATTEMPT, SOME TIME LATER.

Alex finally came to at the bottom of the hill, where he had started from the first time. He wasn't sure how long he'd been out, but he did know he needed to get back up and do it again. He had to do it until he could do it right. He had to learn, to be better, to be something Yin could be proud of.

He pushed himself to his feet, wobbled a bit, then sat back down.

Maaaayybeee he'd try again in a minute..


Some time later, he began making his way back up the hill, using a little bit of that speed this time.

So far so good, nothing to worry about her---

ZAP

Alex was sent crumpling to the ground as he got a large and nasty shock. Groaning, he pushed himself to his feet, and pushed onwards.

This is worth it. It's worth it. Just keep going. He urged himself as he continued his slow and dangerous incline.

Maybe that last zap had put a little bit of speed in his step. There were lightening bolt raining down all around him but he somehow managed to avoid them all.

Over half way up the hill, and the end was in sight! If only he could just get there, then this would all be worth it. Just do what has to be done, don't look back, don't stop moving.

Remember who you are doing this for.

He was starting to slow down. Maybe he was just getting overconfident, as the ending came into sight, or maybe he was just reverting back to his lazy self.

Whatever it was, that zap of lightening jolting through his body, causing him to stumble forward and nearly face plant into the ground got him moving again.

Yin had seriously done this course once? How had he managed??

There was another strike coming, he could feel it, it was prickling against his skin, raising his hair...

would he be able to get out of the way in time?

The answer was of course, no, no he would not. The finish line just meters away, he was zapped with another sizzling bolt of lightening that flattened him to the ground and knocked him unconscious once more.

When he awoke, he was back at the bottom of the hill. He brought a hand up to his forehead, feeling quite dizzy as he glanced around, wondering who had been so kind as to remove his body from the dangerous course.

This was the last time he was going to try, for now, at least. Yin would likely be wondering where Alex had wandered off too for so long, and now as it was he was going to have to change his clothes, smooth down his hair...he looked absolutely terrible, honestly.

Steeling himself for one last try, he began forward once more.

The first part always seemed to be the easiest. He wasn't even surprised anymore when he managed the first part of the course without getting struck down.

This time he actually manage to get further up the hill then ever before without getting struck by lightening. He was either getting faster or...

...well, no, it was probably all just sheer luck at this point. But wouldn't it be nice if on his third and final attempt, he could pass this class?

All good things had to come to an end at some point. Alex was barely half way up the hill when an all too familiar feeling came over him, and he found himself sprawled out on the ground, his teeth clenched so tight they were like to break.

Get up, get up. And keep going! He commanded himself, as he pushed himself to his feet and scrambled on wards.

He must have been too slow when he started out again, because another zap quickly followed the first. But instead of making him fall, it just made him lurch forward, as though if he went faster he could get away from the pain in his arms and legs, the pounding in his head, the sick feeling in his stomach. If he could just keep going and get up this blasted hill he could go back to Yin's side, curl up beside him in bed and be comforted knowing that he'd gained a new skill, one that could potentially save them in a crises.

But he just needed to get up this hill first!
