This is an informational thread about the roles of the Five Tengu.

The role of the Tengu

The role of the Tengu differs depending on which path the Tengu has taken. These paths are to try and enforce balance in this world; whether by returning peace or planting discord. Each role has an important part in how the world flows.

There are five paths; each one with one chosen Tengu:

The Path of the Sword

The Path of the Sword enforces balance by bloodshed. This Tengu is meant to weaken overly powerful villages by either killing their leaders or their shinobi. Also, during the tides of war, the Sword Tengu may join the losing side to bring back the balance of powers and make sure tyranny is not rooted in. This Tengu directly effects the shinobi world more than any of the other Tengu.

The Path of the Might

The Path of the Might builds up the strength of villages if they are lacking in that area. Anyone being taught by the Might Tengu will require 5 less training posts regardless of what it is that they're training. Along with this, the Might Tengu can seek an apprentice that will become the next Might Tengu when the previous one dies. This is the only Tengu that can pass on its role to the next generation, with the hopes of maintaining balance in the world. However, the Might Tengu is highly unencouraged to actually partake in battle. It is not their role to kill for peace.

The Path of the Mind

The Path of the Mind has the role of diplomacy. They are meant to work things out between villages and hopefully lead them back to the path of peace. However, if this does not work, the Path of the Mind tengu are actually meant to destroy villages. Destroy. As in, decimate, remove, completely obliterate. They are meant to retain balance by wiping out antagonism. This directly aids with people's compliance to their requests, because this Tengu is followed by the stench of fear.

The Path of the God

The Path of the God has the role of kindness. They burden the sadness of the world upon their shoulders and hope to make the people happier. The Path of God is the most involved with civilians and is the most beloved of the Five Tengu. They are also meant to protect peaceful villages or weak villages that are slowly dying. The God Tengu are also meant to enforce Heaven's laws against the Tengu who have gone corrupt. They are the Tengu of both love and judgment, and they watch out for the people of the world.

The Path of the Devil

The Devil Tengu is the strongest of the five Tengu. It's pure evil. It wishes to kill, destroy, warmonger and force misery into life. The Devil Tengu, however, is a necessary part of balance, so the other Tengu try to refrain from killing it. The God Tengu and Devil Tengu are complete enemies and will almost always conflict. The Devil Tengu is meant to destroy peace when it's overly-present and prevent "sunshine and flowers" from lasting too long. The Devil Tengu is the most hated of all of the Tengu and must be rogue.

Tengu may not fight alongside each other against humans and/or summons. The only time a Tengu can fight alongside another Tengu is against a Tengu. However, Tengu may protect their kin in certain circumstances such as during war/balancing/or if the humans attack first.

The five Tengu Hunters must apply for a Tengu Spot. It's first-come-first-serve. Each Tengu Spot has different variants of the same abilities. Some of them are stat-based Tengu and some of them are skill/ninjutsu-based.

NOTE:

If a Tengu you may not have an angel, a cursemark, or a demon. Tengu who are already angels/demons/ascended beings/cursemark hosts will be unable to use their angel or demon.

The Tengu Powers [PASSIVES]

The Tengu all have several passive abilities gained from becoming Tengu.

Heaven's Dogs Tengu all have wings. Always. They're never temporarily hidden or inside of your back or blah blah blah. They're always present. And, fortunately, they can fly. Your speed while in the air is similar to your speed on the ground and generally, most Tengu fight airborne. Flight is unlimited. The wings regenerate instantly if destroyed.

The Tengu Powers [ABILITIES] U/C People will choose the descriptions of their own abilities

Each member of the five has their own special abilities, along with the base techniques. Some of these abilities' NAMES are already in use in the guild, generally by sharingan wielders. However, none of these skills are the same as with the Uchiha.

NOTE: The Tengu may learn as many styles as they want but can only use a maximum of six at a time.

The base Tengu abilities:


Amaterasu Free
The Amaterasu is a technique that turns night into day. That's really how simple it is. It only effects a certain area though; it doesn't actually make the sun rise, rather, it calls upon the goddess to hide the moon with her light. It does exactly replicate the effect of daytime, however. It lasts 16 posts but can easily be overwritten by Kamui.

Kamui Free
The Kamui is a technique that turns day into night. It only effects a certain area; it does not actually make the moon rise, rather, it calls upon the goddess to hide the sun with her light. It exactly replicates the effect of nighttime. It lasts 16 posts but can easily be overwritten by Amaterasu.

Susano'o A
The Susano'o is a technique that makes the weather stormy and rainy. If it is already rainy or stormy, it will make it considerably worse. It lasts 12 posts; can only be used with Kamui currently active.

Kagutsuchi A
The Kagutsuchi will turn the weather to be almost desolate. The sun will shine brightly and the weather will become rather hot; even moreso if it's already heated. This technique lasts 12 posts; it can only be used with Amaterasu currently active.

The Might Tengu abilities:


Oho-Yama S
Oho-Yama is an ability that may only be used with Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi active. It involves plunging your hands into the ground, and almost instantly grabbing out a boulder the size of your average whale. You will then jump very high and throw this boulder and the desired location while still in mid-air, which will increase the range of the throw and the flexibility of the technique. The boulder will be infused with flame and will spread flames outward in a massive range after impact.

Nai-no-Kami SS
This technique requires Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi to be active. First placing your hand against a surface, you will begin to crush down against the surface and will send out massive shockwaves that reduce the surface into stone rubble, regardless of whether it's organic or synthetic. Even flesh will be reduced to mere cobblestone, but this technique is very hard to pull off as it requires physical contact. The shockwave isn't strong enough, however, to destroy for an example, an entire village gate. It can, however, destroy the foundation of even a mountain and have it come tumbling down.

Toyo-Uke-Bime S
A defensive technique, Toyo-Uke-Bime will create a white barrier in front of you. You will first form the handseals, and then it will appear for a few seconds. This technique is a recoil technique that sends anything clashing against it a massive shockwave that can potentially crush bones. It will destroy almost any earth technique to hit it, send water crashing back, and repel wind, but fire and lightning aren't really quelled by it. Against people with great strength, this is a valuable asset that can reverse a dire situation into an opponent's death.

Tenjin S
Tenjin is a technique that instantly regenerates the user's arms. Not legs, arms. Not anything else but arms. It makes the use of fists less dangerous because you can bring them back.

The God Tengu abilities:


Kami SS
Kami is one of the God Tengu's defensive abilities. They summon a God-like being, shrouded by light and wealth. This God-like being will take the damage/effects of any technique, maneuver or attack that would otherwise hurt/hinder/kill Kleine for the entire duration of the post. Kami does not require any handsigns but can only be used once every 5 posts.

Izanagi S
Izanagi is a powerful jutsu that may only be used with Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi both active. After several complicated handsigns, the God Tengu will send down a meteor the size of a football field down at the opponent. This meteor's explosion range is about as large as the technique Raiden's Fury, and will almost instantly kill anything it touches. However, it must be charged for one post beforehand.

Takami S
This technique may only be used with Kamui and Susano'o both active. Takami will first attach to the opponent by the user locking onto said opponent with a handseal similar to the Yamanaka clan's mind transfer seal. For ten posts from that point, slower lightning strikes will seem to follow the opponent and try to hit them every single post. The lightning strikes aren't deadly but can paralyze an enemy if they hit it. This technique is excellent for keeping opponents on their toes and preventing them from using jutsu.

Musubi-no-Kami A
This technique can only be used with Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi both active. It sends a massive, spinning wheel of fire that will follow the opponent endlessly for three posts. After the third post or after it hits, it will explode in a 100 foot radius and leave the opponent with either death or severe third degree burns. It's fast, but easy to dodge unless used intelligently; the best way to use this is when enemies are up-close so that they can't see it coming. The wheel is about 10 feet tall and 4 feet wide. It's much like a tire.

Gekka-o A
Gekka-o is a massive arrow of lightning that comes from a summoned, white, glowing bow. It can be shot three times before it can no longer be used in the fight. It moves at lightning speed and will immediately rip through any part of the body it touches, with an effect of about 2 feet in diameter. It can only be used during the effects of Kamui and Susano'o. The arrow requires no charging post but it's pretty obvious since it's bright.

Baku S
Baku is a technique involving a bolt of lightning. It's very costy chakra-wise, but can be used very efficiently. The user can shoot or redirect a bolt of lightning at a destinated area; this lightning will travel at lightning speed. The user will appear where the lightning is about to land almost instantly (they tag along with the lightning), catch the lightning, and use it similarly to a chidori to strike the opponent. It's mostly used as a counter-attack or a surprise attack. The lightning can move similarly to a snake; meaning it can have its course changed. The bolt itself is pretty small.

Wakahiko A
Wakahiko allows the ability to direct all rainfall to one specific location. This is a highly strategical move that lasts for five posts. All of the rainfall in the entire area will be directed to one specific location or target. This also works with snow or even hail if the area has any of those. This doesn't need to be used with any other technique, but does require the necessary weather conditions. This is actually a wind element technique -- a massive funnel appears in the sky that guides all of the snow/hail/rain to that location.

Amatsu-Kami B
A defensive technique, Amatsu-Kami creates a mirror in front of the user that will send an opponent attacking with melee flying the other direction. It first traps the opponent in the mirror, then launches them out with the strength of a missile launcher. It is a counter-attack against melee and is more specifically used to gain an advantage over opponents who cannot control their flight.

Shiranui SS
Shiranui is one of the ultimate fire techniques. It can be used under any weather condition and is not effected by water or rain. Thousands of large paint-like fireballs will descend from the sky, all aimed at the target. They will all attack at a .3 second increment from each other and will keep the target moving for minutes on end. The assault lasts for 4 posts, and the user may not move in this time (they may perform handseals however), though they will be guarded by a flaming red aura with defensive strength similar to Susano'o. Once the technique has ended, the flames of Shiranui will still remain for days to come and that entire area will be almost fatally dangerous to touch.

Fujin S

One of the only elemental based tengu techniques in the Devil tengu's arsernal, the user focuses his powerful chakra into his dominant hand, which in turn is raised high above his head. The user then chops downwards, releasing a blade of chakra and wind that cuts through not only whatever is infront of the user, but also the clouds above and the earth infront of them. The user can also perform a Sideways chop with this technique, leveling entire forests or cities with one swipe. This blade will seem to travel for miles.


The Devil Tengu abilities:


Yami A

In this simple technique, the devil tengu extends his arms outwards. From his body, a thick black smoke erupts, covering the battle field with this black smoke screen. This black smoke is unique in that it distorts chakra vision techniques such as byakugan and sharigan by placing fake chakra signatures throughout it. The Devil tengu can see through this black smoke, for it is made from his very essence. It can be blown away by wind techniques of A rank or higher.

Izanami EX (100 chakra points cost)

One of the most powerful techniques in the Devil Tengu's arsernal, the user stands crouched, their arms at their lengths, the dominate one pointed up, with the lesser one down. From here, the Devil tengu seems to grip very life of the world around them with both hands, and then rotates their arms in a spiral, distorting the World along its path, finishing with the palm of his hands facing each other one ontop the other, the dominate hand on the bottem. In the center of his hands will be a sphere of pure, concentrated and compressed natural energy. With this done, the technique is ready to be used. In his hand is energy of Destruction, that will expand when the tengu thrusts their palm towards their target. Anything caught within this sphere of destruction is destroyed to nothingness. Due to the power and preperation required to use this technique, the tengu must spend 5 posts gathering the chakra during which they cant use any chakra consuming technique, and after it's use, cannot use it again for either the rest of the fight, or 50 posts (Posts after use in fight will reduce the cost, but still cant be used in fight if used up, for example, if used in fight and fight ends 10 posts later, it is 40 posts wait).

Bimbogami S

In this technqiue, the Devil tengu spreads his foul dark chakra through the ground, coating it in a black liquid like substance. This substance quickly spreads to cover the entire battlefield. Once this is done, All opponents, and the tengu will feel themseves sucked into this liquid, with water walking technique providing no aid, and attacks directed at it just sinking though. Once both are through this liquid, they will both emerge in room that is void of everything, as they are inside the World without. Both the tengu and the opponents will be forced out of this world either after 20 posts, or when the tengu is dead.

Amida

Amatsu Mikaboshi A

A poweful tengu technique, it can only be activated when Susano'o is active, but will persist until the end of the techniques duration. As the rain pours around them, it will begin to pool at the tengu's feet, slowly spreading as it forms a miniuter lake around the tengu. Once the lake is formed, the water will climb up the users body, forming a thin blanket like armor around the tengu. This armor will twist and move to defend the user. The armor's strength is A rank.
This technique lasts for 10 posts, and has a 5 post cooldown between uses.

Fujin S

One of the only elemental based tengu techniques in the Devil tengu's arsernal, the user focuses his powerful chakra into his dominant hand, which in turn is raised high above his head. Lydia S

One of the few defensive technqiue at the devil tengu's disposel, In it, the devil tengu places his palms together. For as long as the tengu's palm remain together, he is intangible, but at the same time, he cannot mold or gather chakra. This technique has a recharge time of 5 posts between uses.

Now you may apply for each Tengu, but only if you're currently in the Tengu Slaying group. This Tengu class will be obtained only after you defeat the thirteenth Tengu... if you defeat the thirteenth Tengu.

Multiple people may apply for the same Tengu spot. I'll choose depending on how well that spot will fit your character and you the player. Someone overly-inclined to act goody-goody will obviously not obtain the Devil Tengu.

Why do you want it?: Because its calling for me...I probably need to see a psychologist for that.

[More Specific Reason:] Lars was made as an RPC powerhouse, an individual who was a taijutsu specialist who uses lightning techniques. That and usually gets into spars constantly with multiple shinobi to test his strength. Path of the Mind seems unlike him, Path of Devil would make him go against Kleine completely, Path of the Sword isn't his style of fighting, and Kleine has the Path of God.

Why should you get it? Because it shall be mine! ಠ_ಠ

[More Specific Reason:] Because as I see it, in my opinion, the Path of Might seems to be the only Path that doesn't screw around with the person's personality and other stuff...much. I guess

Hey. It ain't the weakest. They're all about equal except for Mind and Devil... those two are the strongest. And I'm kinda happy to see that no one's chosen them yet. Because five elements is incredibly OP, as I've learned from playing the Jyuuha.

And Devil is just OP in general. Godly stats and 3 elements... plus massive chakra... yeah.

Why do you want it? Fastest Tengu in Speed, which is all Kiyoshi cares about. Goes best with Kiyoshi's personality, he so random jumping into a side just cause they loosing just sounds like him. Plus it swords...weapons XD

Why should you get it? Really the only Tengu that fits Kiyoshi. Path of Might needs an apprentice, which Kiyoshi rapes all his. Path of the Mind has 5 elements which Kiyoshi is highly against being creator of the sages. Path of the God is for Kleine, because their is no greater god then him. And Path of the Devil forces him to be rouge and is complete opposite of Path of God which is Kleine. So they would hate each other

I'm going to have to approve Kiyoshi for Sword... Kiyoshi's everything involves a sword... in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he really just was a sword...
